"That's the last of 'em!" Rippletail, the grey and black tom-cat with green blue eyes exclaimed as Sunpaw was pulling a tick out from behind his ear.

The apprentice spit it onto the ground while his sister stepped on it and killed it with her paw. "Thanks youngins'." The elder smiled as he was laying down in his nest, no longer scratching his ear.

Sunpaw and Orangepaw dipped their heads as they spun around and bounced back to their mentors. "Very good you two!" Ivybelly praised as she shifted her paws. "Now the nest is clean for when Crowpelt decides to retire."

"This also means it's time for a tour of the territories." Pinestalker added as the two apprentices laughed excited. "Yay!"

The mentors spun around leading their apprentices out of the elder's den and towards the camp exit. Pinestalker meowed "I will head towards Mistclan territory and you can go towards Hillclan to start."

Ivybelly nodded as each of their mentors and their apprentices split off into different directions. Sunpaw and Pinestalker made their way across the grassy fields. The cool breeze blew through the air as the tall yellow and green grass brushed against his fur.

There wasn't any trees on their territory, mainly large and long fields of grass. Sunpaw looked up happily as the bright sun shone on his fur. "Our territory is amazing!" Sunpaw meowed happily as they paced through the wide open field.

The vast. light blue sky stretched across as far as the eye could see. "Indeed. There may not be much protection from trees, but we have the grass to hide in." Sunpaw looked down at his paws as he noticed the ground was flat and hard.

"The ground is also hard and flat. Is that so we have more balance when running?" He asked trying to impress his mentor.

"Very good. Yes, it's especially helpful when hunting." Pinestalker meowed as the tall grass shielding them began to disappear, and a large forest was ahead of them.

Visible right by the border, was a ginger and white she-Cat with green eyes, and a smaller light brown and cream she-cat with yellow eyes. She looks small enough to be an apprentice or even a kit.

Sunpaw paced by his mentor surprised to meet cats from another clan on the first day. The ginger and white she-cat was the first to speak "Greetings Pinestalker."

The sandy tom looked up towards his mentor as he dipped his head in reply "Hello Gingersplash. What brings you to our border?"

Gingersplash pointed her tail down towards the smaller she-cat standing next to her awkwardly. "I'm showing my apprentice the different borders."

Sunpaw looked down towards the she-cat with surprise as she looked right back up at him. "As am I." Pinestalker commented as he nudged his apprentice playfully.

Sunpaw laughed a little as he took a step towards Gingersplash's apprentice. "Hi there! I'm Sunpaw!" He hasn't had any other cats his age to talk to except for his sister.

The apprentice seemed really shy as he noticed her shifting her paws. "I'm Dawnpaw."

He tried making her not feel uncomfortable around other cats as he asked trying to have her open out "Is today your first day? You don't look nervous at all!" Even though she was literally trembling.

She stood there silently for a moment before shaking her head "This is actually my third day, I've learned a lot so far."

He didn't want to assume everything about her, but somehow he could tell she was lying. For what reason? He didn't know but he just shook it off. "Oh...well today is my first day as an apprentice!"

She actually smiled for the first time as she replied "Cool!"

Sunpaw was glad he managed to get her to speak up as Dawnpaw's mentor cut off their conversation sternly "Don't became too friendly with each other. You two may meet in battle."

Pinestalker flocked Sunpaw with his tail lightly as he nodded "Agreed. I think we've had a long enough chat. Come along Sunpaw."

His mentor spun around and paused waiting for him to follow. Sunpaw rolled his eyes as he looked towards Dawnpaw and meowed annoyed "Bye..." As he began walking behind his mentor.

Dawnpaw's mentor spun around as she followed "Bye..."

As Pinestalker and Sunpaw continued walking towards the next clan territory, Sunpaw asked "I thought you had said it's good to know your enemies."

As they continued walking, his mentor replied "Yes, but that's not what you were trying to do."

The apprentice knew his mentor was right. He was actually trying to start a full out conversation and maybe make a new friend. They walked to the Hillclan territory border line.

"Now..what can you see from here?" Pinestalker asked as they stood not too far from the Hillclan border.

Sunpaw could clearly see dozens and dozens of slopes and hills in this distance as he replied "A lot of hills."

His mentor shook his head as he sat down "Look harder."

Sunpaw looked towards the hills as he squinted his eyes. He could see faint silhouettes of cats on top of the hills, jumping from one to the other, and running down some. "Cats. A lot of cats!"

His mentor didn't break a grin as he nodded. "Yes, those are the Hillclan cats. They train all the apprentices by having them run up and down the hills."

It seemed dumb when his mentor said it out loud, but Sunpaw realized that it was good practice for them. After they left the Hillclan territory, they went to Brookclan and decided to head back for the day. On their way back to the Brightclan camp, Sunpaw couldn't help but wonder about Dawnpaw.

She was super shy, yet, she seemed really upbeat and optimistic. Now he suddenly urged to have more friends in the clan.

"Soooo how was it?" Orangepaw asked her brother as they paced up to the fresh-kill pile together. He replied eagerly "It was great. We ran into some Mistclan cats, a mentor and her apprentice."

They both bent down and grabbed a mouse as they laid down and began eating. With her mouth full, Orangepaw asked "Are Mistclan cats secretive and shifty as everyone says?"

He giggled as he swallowed his food and shook his head "No.." He paused before adding "They're actually kind of shy..."

His sister finished her mouth as she shrugged surprised "Huh. You learn something new every day." She stood to her paws and began walking towards the apprentice den.

Sunpaw stood up as he replied "Yeah.." as he began following right behind his sister.
