"What can you smell Stormpaw?" Skyleaf asked, scenting the air.

"Mouse, dog but it's stale, squirrel, vole and thrush," Stormpaw meowed ticking them off, she heard rustling in a near by bush and dropped into a hunter crouch, Skyleaf had taught her this but she never got to use it on prey before, she kept her tail straight so she didn't brush it on the ground and scare the mouse. She crept forward, then pounced, she killed in a swift bite to the neck. She kicked dirt over it to came and retrieve later. As they walked through the forest, Skyleaf caught a squirrel and a vole, Stormpaw saw a thrush pecking around a bush with bright red berry's, she caught the thrush and collected the mouse she caught earlier on and she and Skyleaf brought it back to camp.

"Stormpaw could you please bring some prey to the elders?" Skyleaf asked, Stormpaw nodded and picked up the mouse she had caught, she padded over to the elders den and slipped in. The first cat she saw was Frostshimmer, a retired queen, she went over and dropped the mouse at her paws.

"This is for you Frostshimmer," Stormpaw mewed, "it's the first prey I have ever caught!"

"Thank you Stormpaw, I still remember the first prey I caught, a plump vole, my mentor was very proud," Frostshimmer sighed.

"Not only Frostshimmer is hungry!" Figtail snapped, his tabby fur bristling, "me, Molenose and Autumnleaf are hungry as well!"

Ok! ok! No need to be so angry about it Figtail, old grump! Stormpaw thought, she left the den and went back to the fresh-kill pile. She picked out a vole for Figtail, a starling for Molenose and a squirrel for Autumnleaf. She trotted back over to the elders den with the prey in her mouth, she dropped it at the feet of the other elders and suddenly realised how hungry she was as well. She picked up the thrush she had caught, she ate in a few hungry gulps. The red juice from the berries the thrush had been eating stained her fur red. The world started to swirl as she got dizzy, why did she feel like this? Were those berries deathberries? She wondered before fainting.
