Chapter 8

Lionstripe woke up too the sound of Jayfeather and Lionblaze having ANOTHER argument. "Shut up you two! Can't you tell cats are trying to sleep for Starclan's sake?" Lionstripe hissed. "Shut the hell up Lionstripe!" Jayfeather hissed back. "Alright I've had it with you! First you treat like I'm nothing! Then you whine too Alderheart about how I'm a mistake when you barely know me! And your just a straight up, stuck up foxheart! What are you gonna do when I get hurt in battle, huh?" Jayfeather opened his mouth for either a stinging remark, an answer too Lionstripe's question, or both. Lionstripe decided not to let him.

"Actually, don't answer that. The answer is obvious. Sneak in some deathberries. That was going too be your answer right?!" Jayfeather shut his mouth immediately and walked away. The whole clan watches with eyes shining with shock. Sure Lionstripe looked like he was about ready to be set off, according to Bumblestripe. They didn't expect him to shut up Jayfeather.

"Well that was...uhmmm, interesting?" Lionblaze wasn't shocked like almost everybody else. The whole Firestar line has been torn apart. Sparkpelt, Jayfeather, and Hollytuft were against him being in Thunderclan, while Lionblaze, Alderheart, Fernsong, Ivypool, and Sorrelstripe welcomed him. Lionblaze must've saw the misery on Lionstripe's face. "Hey things will get better eventually." Lionblaze reassured. "I hope so..." Lionstripe needed time on his own and Lionblaze probably noticed. "You get some fresh air, okay?" Lionblaze meowed. "I will. I might as well hunt while I'm out." Lionstripe began to make his way too the camp entrance. He knew, without looking, that Jayfeather had a look of hope cross his face. He could hear Lionblaze warn Jayfeather what he really was doing, before he exited the camp.

Dawnstar was out on a hunting patrol with Cloudfang, Strikeclaw, Stormcloud, and Bumblestripe. She was only comfortable with cats that accepted Lionstripe as their own clanmate. "You look on edge." The grey pelt of Bumblestripe appeared to the side of her. "It's been a stressful two moons. Most of the clan dislikes Lionstripe. It's only this patrol and like five cats at camp." Dawnstar groaned, "Why can't they at least accept that he is there to stay?" "These things take time. It took me awhile to understand why Dovewing did what she did. She did it cause she loved Tigerstar. There was nothing I could do to stop that. Even as leader of Thunderclan, you can't stop hatred. It'll always be there."

Dawnstar looked at Bumblestripe with eyes slitted in surprise. "I didn't know you were this wise!" Dawnstar meowed. Bumblestripe shrugged his shoulders. "My dad taught me many wise things." Stormcloud turned around quickly, "Is eating a lot of food one of those things?" Everyone, including Bumblestripe, twitched their ears in amusement at the elders eating habit. The grey elder had died of greencough. He was officially the oldest cat ever. Surpassing even Barkface in age.

"When do you think leaf-bare will ever be kind too us?" Cloudfang asked. The tom wasn't even born when leaf-bare almost killed the five clans. The tom was born when the greencough epidemic rose. It ended up killing many cats. So much, the only hope for the clans were that the kits would survive. They did, and it saved the clans from destruction. "In our dreams." Strikeclaw responded. There was another mrowww of laughter between the senior warriors. "Well why don't we catch us some prey while it's leaf-fall." Cloudfang asked. "What do you think we're out here for?" Bumblestripe asked. "Too talk and gossip about how better of a leader Ivypool would be than Dawnstar." Strikeclaw responded. "Hey, I'm right here you know!" Dawnstar hissed. The warriors continued to talk and hunt the rest of the time.

When Dawnstar returned back too camp, she noticed Lionstripe was absent. "Lionblaze, where's Lionstripe?" The golden tabby tom looked at her and responded, "He and Jayfeather got into an argument. When I say argument, I mean Lionstripe berated Jayfeather for the way he treated him. After Lionstripe finished, I requested he go and get some fresh air. He said he would hunt while he was out there. "Und thoot I dud!" Everyone turned around to see Lionstripe with two hares, three pigeons, and one squirrel. "How did you...?" The clan was at a lost for words. The tom put all his prey down, "I used the unmarked territory near my old den and found these guys." Dawnstar turned around and announced, "Looks like we will have a feast!"
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Jayfeather was thinking about saying against that, but didn't say a word. Let Thunderclan die in its own stupidity. Jayfeather couldn't believe Alderheart likes Lionstripe. Why does anybody in this clan like him.

The clan began to get ready, while the apprentices prepared the prey. I can't believe this is actually happening. Jayfeather started to look around. Strange, where's Dappledtail? He didn't have enough time too think about it when Dawnstar yowled for the feast too begin.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
The clan was getting ready too eat before Lionstripe stopped them. "Wait!" All heads turned to Lionstripe. He couldn't let them eat the prey. He was incredibly sick too his stomach and he felt woozy when he snuck a bite of the hare he grabbed from the fresh-kill pile. "I think...the...prey...is..." Lionstripe didn't get to finish before everything went black.

Once Lionstripe woke up, he noticed he, alongside Strikeclaw, Daisy, and Cinderheart, was in the medicine cat den. "What...happened?" Lionstripe's head hurt like a badger whacked it. "In the medicine cat den mouse-brain." Jayfeather hissed. He noticed that Cinderheart began to stir. "Cinderheart, are you okay?" Lionstripe asked. "Why do you care?" Cinderheart's voice was full of ice. "Cause your my brothers mate. Let alone the fact that I brought that prey here." He felt incredibly guilty. "Calm down Lionstripe, I hate too admit it, but, your not the reason these cats are here." Jayfeather growled. Lionstripe looked at the short grey tom. "Then who did?" This time Lionstripe's voice was full of ice. He wasn't going to play any games. "I don't know. All I know is that my poppy seed supply has run dry."
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Bumblestripe couldn't believe what happened. "Four cats are in the medicine cat den. FOUR cats. All of them being obvious useful cats." Lionblaze just stared out Bumblestripe without saying a word. Finally, he decided to speak, "Now everyone has a reason to distrust Lionstripe." Lionblaze just shook his head. Even Cloudfoot was questioning if Lionstripe should be trusted. Quakepelt wanted to trust Lionstripe, but she was struggling with the fact that he brought the prey.

After awhile, Jayfeather appeared out of his den. "My poppy seed supply has been stolen. Lionstripe did not do this." The clan was shocked at Jayfeather's sudden decision that Lionstripe didn't do it.

As if too read minds, he continued, "Lionstripe was outside the my den the whole time he came back. The only cats I know of that could've done this are the apprentices, but, they didn't have access too the poppy seeds. Now answer me. Where was Dappledtail?" The clan was once more shocked at Jayfeather. "Your aware that you just accused your own clanmate of attempting to drug us with poppy seeds, right?" Dawnstar replied.

"I'm positive that know one else could've done this, except her." Bumblestripe was mind blowned by the accusation, yet it made sense. Dappledtail was nowhere too be seen when the feast was about to begin. "I haven't seen Dappledtail anywhere during the feast." Bumblestripe declared. All eyes turned on him. He could see a hint of hatred in every single one of them. Like he had just murdered Firestar right in front of them. "Could you calm down please!" Bumblestripe growled. The hatred remained. "Cloudfoot, Quakepelt?" The two new warriors remained silent. "Gee, what good friends you are too Lionstripe!" Bumblestripe hissed sarcastically. The clan turned their attention too Dawnstar. "Your the clan leader. You make the decisions." Hollypool hissed.

"There is no proof Lionstripe did anything nor that Dappledtail did it. They will be confined too the camp for the time being." A flash of annoyance came across Dappledtail's face. She doesn't like the sound of being stuck in camp. That's a red flag. The rest of the clan didn't notice it. They were just annoyed that they didn't weren't able to know who ruined the feast. A part of them is hoping it's Lionstripe without a doubt...Make that all their living souls they hope that.

If Lionblaze hadn't had enough of interrupting his thoughts, Lionblaze just proved it. "You didn't deserve the cold look the clan gave you." "You noticed?" Bumblestripe asked. "Yes I did." Lionblaze answered, "I can't believe Cloudfoot and Quakepelt. They come too this clan and being all super close to him, then this comes along, and they act like he's some kind of killer.

"I can reassure you, I did NOT put those poppy seeds." Bumblestripe and Lionblaze heard Lionstripe talk. They turned around to see Cloudfoot bristling at Lionstripe. "Why are even bristling? I haven't done or try to do anything to get pushed away!" The tom was starting to raise his voice. His encounter with Jayfeather clearly hasn't fade away.

Cloudfoot remained like he was. Lionstripe just gaved up. "You know what! This was a waste of time. I should've just jumped onto the thunderpath while I had the chance!" Cloudfoot's eyes widened. "You were going too what!" Hollyleaf screeched. Lionstripe know joke, looked her in the eyes, and said, "Yes. I was going to run into the thunderpath as a monster was coming by. The only reason I didn't, was because these two disgraces stopped me." Cloudfoot's eyes were still widened from Lionstripe confessing a secret they probably both promised not too mention. Quakepelt was beginning to tear up. Quakepelt knew Lionstripe was referring her as one of the disgraces. A long standing friendship was broken that day.
