Chapter 7

Lionstripe loved the Thunderclan camp...maybe except for Jayfeather, but he's always grumpy about something from what he heard. He glanced over to where Quakepelt was. She was already flirting with a she-cat whom he believed was Sorrelstripe; Which he also found out was that she was his niece. He also noticed that Dawnstar always looked at him curiously. He might talk to her when he finds the time.

"Lionstripe, wanna go on patrol with us." Bumblestripe asked. Lionblaze, Alderheart, Bumblestripe, Sorrelstripe, Dawnstar, and Mousewhisker were the only cats that accepted him as a Thunderclan cat. Others were taking time.

Just then, a flash of black entered the camp. "No...It can't be..." Lionblaze gasped. Lionstripe didn't need an introduction to know who this cat was. "I thought you died Hollyleaf." Lionstripe was the first to talk. "How do you know who Hollyleaf is?" Jayfeather asked accusingly. "Our brother told me about her." "Don't you dare say brother. You are no brother to mine." "Quiet!" Dawnstar yelled. "I have too agree with Lionstripe. Your supposed too be dead." Hollyleaf responded immediately. "I am supposed too be dead. Firestar decided to revive me to keep an eye on the loners." Jayfeather had a sudden hint of suspicion in his eyes, "I also have to keep an eye on the Great Three as you call them." Hollyleaf added. Jayfeather's suspicion quickly turned to surprise. "And why is that?" Dawnstar asked. "Because Yellowfang thought she could get away with telling a few loners that are here a prophecy without Starclan's knowing." Hollyleaf answered. "Why don't you grab some fresh-kill and we'll talk later." Hollyleaf just dipped her head and stalked off too the fresh-kill pile.

A moon had past since Hollyleaf showed up in Thunderclan's camp. Lionstripe was slowly losing his patience with Jayfeather. The ginger tom looked like he would snap at any moments notice if Jayfeather talked too him. Quakepelt and Cloudfoot were happy in Thunderclan. Lionblaze felt happy with how things were. Except Jayfeather's uncalled for hostility toward Lionstripe.

A meow shook Lionblaze out of his thoughts. "How are you Lionblaze?" A light grey tom padded up too him. Bumblestripe's amber eyes shining bright. In the very short period Lionstripe was here, he alongside Bumblestripe quickly got along with the gingerish-golden tom. "Good. How about you?" Lionblaze replied. Bumblestripe responded, "Doing just great. I guess your doing fine as well since Hollyleaf returned."

"Yeah I guess." Lionblaze was deeply tired. He was on every patrol. "For Green-leaf, there's been an oddly lack amount of prey. It makes it worst knowing Shadowclan has been hunting in our territory." "Tell me about it!" The two toms had grown close since Lionstripe showed up. They rarely talked too each other before-paw. "The gathering is today. I can't wait!" Lionblaze couldn't wait either. It had been stalled for so long when greencough took the clans over.

"Who do you think will go there?" Lionblaze asked. Bumblestripe pondered for a bit. "I think Alderheart, Mousewhisker, Lionstripe, Sorrelstripe, Quakepelt, you, and I would go there." "I agree with you on Alderheart, Mousewhisker, and Sorrelstripe, but Lionstripe, Cloudfoot, and Quakepelt are new to Thunderclan." "Your right, but, I'll bet you the fattest pigeon that one of the loners will go there." "Well then I bet that you go to the elder's den and do all the apprentice chores for them!" "Then it's a bet!"

"May all cats old enough too catch their own prey, meet at the center of camp for a clan meeting." Many cats started to leave their dens and gather too the center, "I wish for these cats that are listed to go to the gathering. Lionblaze, Bumblestripe, Alderheart, Mousewhisker, Cloudtail, Brightheart, Strikeclaw, Sorrelstripe, and Cloudfang."

Once Dawnstar finished her announcement, she walked back into her den. What should I do if Shadowclan and Riverclan decide to fight Thunderclan. The three clans weren't on good terms after Shadowclan refused to give Thunderclan any herbs. Riverclan didn't help either. They decided that attacking Bramblestar and his cats was a good idea. Instead, Riverclan's herbs were destroyed after a fire broke out in the fight.

Dawnstar snapped herself from her thoughts and padded out of her den so she can get all the warriors ready. She didn't want to bring any apprentices just in case. Cloudtail and Brightheart are fighters. They would die to defend the clan, while the apprentices only had half a moon of training. She signaled for all the cats to leave. She could hear Bumblestripe groan. I told him to stop making bets with Lionblaze. He'll always lose against Lionblaze.

Once Thunderclan appeared at the gathering, it was apparent that they were the first there. Dawnstar wasn't too sure. "Keep an eye out. I don't trust the silence." Every one of the warriors in front of her nodded their heads in understanding.

As too answer her suspicions, there was a battle yowl and many cats from Shadowclan, Windclan, Skyclan, and Riverclan appeared from the undergrowth. They weren't all there to harm Thunderclan though. Runningstar and Violetstar padded up too her. "We had a sneaking suspicion that they would try and break ancient tradition at the gathering." Runningstar spoke. The opposing clans realized quickly that they were outnumbered.

"Since that didn't go as planned, I guess we'll just start the gathering." Leapstar requested

Even though Dawnstar was unsure of what to do, it was tradition to be peaceful at the gathering. The ambush was a failure for Shadowclan and Riverclan. "I guess we should" Dawnstar growled. The five clans went too different places, Riverclan and Shadowclan on the left and Thunderclan, Skyclan, Windclan on the right.

"Shadowclan is doing well this green-leaf. Our fresh-kill pile is stocked and we have new apprentices named Featherpaw and Darkpaw." Only Riverclan and Shadowclan yowled in support. Dawnstar decided to speak up before Froststar did. "Thunderclan is also doing well. We also have new cats that recently joined. Their names are Lionstripe, Quakepelt, and Cloudfoot." Once more only certain clans yowled their support. This time being Thunderclan, Skyclan, and Windclan.

Mousewhisker was shocked at what Shadowclan and Riverclan attempted. They went against the warrior code, Mousewhisker thought. All the leaders talked about how great their clans were, but he knew that was a load of mouse dung. Thunderclan already knew Windclan wasn't doing well. They've been trying to help Windclan get back on their paws, except Thunderclan started to have the same problem. Where were all the prey? The grey tom pondered. His thoughts were interrupted when Lionstripe walked up too him.

"How was the gathering?" The ginger or gold...mix of the two, tom asked Mousewhisker. "Not a great start for sure." "Then I guess Ivypool wasn't lying." "Well I gotta go. My apprentice won't leave me alone about training." "Good luck Mousewhisker!" Lionstripe walked away so Mousewhisker can get his apprentice. Why does everyone dislike him. He's nice and respectful to others. He thought about Jayfeather suddenly. Well for the most part.

Dovewing managed to get herself up. It had been an entire moon since Hollyleaf returned. She didn't like Shadowclan's and Riverclan's attempt at attacking Thunderclan. Cats that I care about live in Thunderclan. Ivypool, Bristlefrost, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf...Bumblestripe. The thought of the grey tom made her regret her choice a lot. The only thing I don't regret about loving Tigerstar was having my kits. Dovewing quickly snapped out of her thoughts and got ready. Today's Firekit's and Jaykit's apprenticeship ceremony.

"Firepaw! Jaypaw! Firepaw! Jaypaw!" Shadowclan cheered. Firepaw's mentor was Echodapple, and Jaypaw's mentor was Redclaw himself. Dovewing was upset at the choice. She felt like Redclaw would make the quiet but mischievous Jaypaw a fierce killer. She could see the perplexed faces of Stonepelt and Riverflow. They weren't Redclaw's biggest fans either.

"Dovewing!" Leapstar yowled. Dovewing turned around to look at the tan leader. "Now that you don't have kits in the nursery anymore, are you going to join the warriors den?" The leader asked. "That's something I'll have to think about over time." The leader just nodded her head. "Now why don't we-" The leaders voice was cut off by a red cat slicing her throat open. "No more weak cat. This cat refused too continue the attack against Thunderclan. We could have surprised the clans by continuing. There was a chance we could have won." Suddenly Leapstar came back and started too attack the tom.

Even though she had the cut still, it wasn't bleeding all over the place. "You traitor. I knew I should've killed you the moment I laid my eyes on you." Puddleshine yowled. "Well you didn't. That was the biggest mistake you've ever made." With all of Redclaw's might, the red tom reopened Leapstar's throat and the tan she-cat went limp. Whitefur was shocked. "How could you kill your own sister?" The red tom looked at her. "Cowards don't deserve to be leaders." "But surely there was a more peaceful alternative too this." Whitefur looked like she was going to leave the camp, and Dovewing couldn't blame her.

Redclaw took notice of it and looked at his friends. "Don't let Whitefur leave this place." They did as he commanded, and forced too the elders den. "Does anybody disagree with what I did?" The whole clan, even Puddleshine and Shadowreach, knew better than to say anything. "Then it's settled. I'm Shadowclan's new leader." Even with Whitefur unable to warn the clans, Dovewing could still leave. I need to get Firepaw and Jaypaw, Dovewing thought, I need to warn them all!
