Chapter 21

(Present)

The battle had begun. The combined forces of Windclan, Skyclan, and Thunderclan made their attempt to lower Riverclan and Shadowclan morale. To make them slowly see Froststar and Redstar for what they are, monsters. And if they knew that already and were willing to kill for their leaders, then they would pay with their life!

Lionblaze looked around his surroundings and he could see Dustflight and Adderstripe trying to convince some of the ShadowClan and RiverClan cats to help stop the tyrannical clans.

"Lionblaze, look out!" A voice called out. Lionblaze looked just in time to see three warriors heading his way.

Lionblaze clawed the three cats that dared get in his way. Something seemed...off...How was he able to do that?! I haven't been able to do that since...! Lionblaze soon dawned on a new realization. This isn't just about having the three returning to fight and bring along two other additions, Starclan has returned the power of three! And this prophecy was also no longer a prophecy of four! This was now a prophecy of five!

Adderstripe and Dustflight looked at each other, "Please Stonepelt and Echodapple! We need your help!" Adderstripe pleaded.

"By the looks of things, no you don't. You are obviously winning." Stonepelt reasoned.

"Then at least join so that this can all end sooner!" Dustflight hissed.

Echodapple looked at her brother worryingly, "You're not one to hiss?"

Dustflight turned to his sister, "Listen, Echodapple! As you can clearly see, things are a little stressful right now! We need your help so that this can end sooner rather than later! The longer this goes on, the more deaths there are!"

Echodapple and Stonepelt remained unconvinced, "I am sure three strong and powerful clans will do well against two weak and pitiful clans." Stonepelt tried to reason again.

Dustflight had to agree that that made sense. Shadowclan and Riverclan were pretty weak while Thunderclan, Skyclan, and Windclan managed to thrive despite their losses, but still, "Shadowclan and Riverclan may be weak, but will that make this fight easy, will it prevent vast casualties?"

Echodapple and Stonepelt thought about what the brown tabby said, "I guess you are right for once." Echodapple teased.

Dustflight slitted his eyes and Echodapple shut up, clearly getting his message.

Adderstripe looked worryingly to her right, "The fight is starting to head our way. You have to make a decision now!"

Dustflight looked in her direction, and sure enough, the fight was closer to them than before. Dustflight noticed that in the middle was Lionblaze! It was as if the warriors couldn't touch him!

Dustflight looked around the area. Lionstripe was nowhere to be seen, though Dustflight could swear he saw him in multiple different areas at once where warriors would suddenly collapse! Hollyleaf and Dovewing were side by side fighting, Bumblestripe and Amberclaw not far away.

Dustflight would look at Hollyleaf's paws, noticing that leaves and foliage would move near them without being disturbed! Dovewing looked like she was overwhelmed! Every time someone screamed in pain, it was as if someone were screaming right in her ear! Those five are not normal whatsoever! Something just isn't right! Dustflight could see Lionblaze confront Lionstripe, making it clear that Lionstripe was indeed there, and the two appeared to have been talking to each other.

Dustflight looked at Adderstripe, then to his best friend and sister, "Better make your decision extra fast are we are damn well screwed!"

Echodapple then looked at Stonepelt, who nodded, "Then let's get this shit over with!" Adderstripe looked at Dustflight, not knowing what shit meant, but Dustflight just shook his head letting her know to ignore his sister's strange words.

The four leapt into battle, preparing for the worse.

Lionstripe ran around avoiding cats trying to find Dawnstar. Where is she?! Lionstripe thought to himself before a force shoved him to the ground, "Not so quick anymore are you."

Lionstripe looked up to see that it was the same cat that he had scared away from the nursery when he had defeated his little ragtag team while Shadowclan and Riverclan were taking Thunderclan over.

"Oh me? I'm faster than you could ever be! I mean just look at yourself! I mean how much prey have you been eatin' lately?" Lionstripe responded.

The Shadowclan warrior didn't like the insult and tried to attack Lionstripe. That's exactly what Lionstripe wanted and he jumped into the air, leaving his paw out to claw the tom from ear to the end of his flank.

From the sound of the warrior screaming, he could tell he got him good and Lionstripe ran again to find Dawnstar.

He soon saw Dawnstar being confronted by Redstar and Froststar, "Dawnstar!" Lionstripe yelled and he joined her, "One against two isn't quite fair now ain't it?"

"Lionstripe, what a 'pleasant surprise' we have for you to join us." Redstar growled.

"I figured I'd join the party before it ended." Lionstripe replied.

Redstar smirked, "Ha! You think you can beat me? I'm a leader! I have more than one life! And I know that Dawnstar here is on her last life. Don't think for a second that I never planned for anything."

Lionstripe smirked back, "Did you plan for this?"

Lionstripe suddenly wasn't where he was. He was at one side of Froststar, blood pouring from a neck wound that wasn't there a second ago! It didn't take long for the white leader to collapse dead on the ground shortly after.

"What's with the face," Lionstripe teased, "you didn't see that coming?"

Redstar's previously cocky face was replaced by that with fear, "No! Impossible! I say impossible! No cat can do that! No cat can just disappear from one place them appear to another!"

Lionstripe smiled, "Well you see, it's a rather short story actually. It's called being chosen by Starclan. And I'm not the only one chosen by Starclan to be here right now."

Lionstripe was soon met up with Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, Dovewing, and even Jayfeather, "There will be three, with the power of the stars in their paws." Jayfeather spoke first.

Dovewing and Hollyleaf then spoke in unison, "Soon peace will come flying on a dove's wing."

Lionstripe and Lionblaze soon spoke in unison as well, "There will be five, they will defend the three clans that fight for the rights of all clans. They will defend order, and if they fail, claws will be covered red with blood."

Lionstripe looked at Redstar, "What's even better was that the last one wasn't even the prophecy. Yellowfang had told a former friend of mine a different prophecy so to have everything speed up to this very moment...But I knew the prophecy deep down, a secret that I was going to tell my leader here, but I had decided that some secrets had to remain a secret, and I guess I was right to. If I had told Dawnstar, Cloudfang, that fox-hearted traitor, would've potentially overheard me tell her and you would've known before hand. The whole situation when you took over Thunderclan was suspicious cause one of your warriors had apparently already knew about me, despite the fact that I hadn't been to a single gathering nor had anyone ever mentioned me. You failed everything you were going to do, all because you couldn't keep an entire clan to stay under your's and Froststar's rule. Two clans couldn't keep one clan under their rule. Do you know how depressing that sounds? How sad that is? You are nothing but a sad excuse of a leader. In fact! You are no leader! You are a tyrant! I actually probably spared Froststar of being killed in her last life in her sleep am I right?"

Lionstripe could see the shock on Redstar's face, "I'll let Jayfeather explain, if that's what he wants."

"As you may know, there were three. One could hear and see long distances. One had the strength of an unbeatable beast that couldn't lose a battle, no matter the injury. And then another, one that could walk into others dreams. See into Starclan and the Dark Forest without any need to be summoned. And that cat is me." Jayfeather hissed.

"I can fight to the end!" Lionblaze growled.

"I can hear and see everything!" Dovewing growled as well.

Hollyleaf soon spoke, "And then there was a fourth, which turned out to be Firestar, but then this came along and Starclan realized they still needed the four alongside a fifth, and that's where I came into play apparently."

Lionstripe looked at Redstar, "And I think you can guess by what you witnessed, who the new fourth is."

Redstar growled with fierce fury, "NO! I will not be stopped by such pitiful excuses! Once I defeat all of you, that'll show Starclan who I really am! A powerful leader that can never be stopped!"

Lionstripe chuckled, "And what will you do once all the clans submit to you?"

"Peace, Lionstripe, peace. Nothing but spread peace."

Lionstripe glared at the stupid, arrogant, reckless, crazy red leader, "Is this how you do it?! Huh?! Is this how you spread peace?! Tell me! Is bloodshed really worth it?! You are full of nothing but dirt! You don't actually care about peace! You want to destroy the clans! The same way they destroyed Shadowclan every time they become powerful and demand another clan's land!"

Redstar glared back, "I will fight to the end!"

Lionstripe responded, "Then so be it you arrogant piece of crow-food!" Lionstripe leapt towards the tom. He was immediately joined by Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, Dovewing, Lionblaze, and Dawnstar.

To Lionstripe the battle felt like sheer seconds, he would dodge every attack Redstar would throw at him. Lionblaze ran into the red leader, allowing Lionstripe to go on the offensive. Hollyleaf managed to get her power ready and launched blades of grass and sharp leaves and nettles into the red tom's eyes.

Dovewing was able to pin the leader by his legs, and Lionstripe pinned Redstar's head, forcing it into the direction of his, and Froststar's former clan, losing, "Is this what you wanted Redclaw! Is this the 'peace' you wanted? Cause that's what you aren't doing! Peace is only achievable if the clans united into one, but the clans were never supposed to unite! We are meant to be separated, tied to only when we are all in danger. When one clan is put in danger, it is every clan's interest to defend them. And you failed to do that by attacking other clans. Your reasoning for what you are doing makes no sense. You don't want peace. You want power. Something you will never have." With one swipe from his claws, Lionstripe cut open Redstar's throat, blood pouring quickly onto the stone where Redstar lay on.

Dawnstar looked at Redstar and noticed movement.

Lionstripe took note of it and waited for the red tom to try to get up, only to bleed out again from his deep neck wound, dying for the final time.

"It's over now!" Lionstripe could here Bumblestripe yell, "Both of your leaders are dead! Surrender!"

A Shadowclan warrior yelled back, "We still have our deputies."

"Not really!" Flamefur, the Riverclan deputy, yelled out, "I'm with Thunderclan, Windclan, and Skyclan on this. Just surrender and stop with the bloodshed already!"

Lionstripe noticed that the warriors were unconvinced until Flamefur gave them another push, "Adderstripe is on their side and Flowerfur is dead!"

Lionstripe could hear several gasps amongst the two losing clans. Lionstripe knew they were convinced now that they knew that their deputy wanted no more of the bloodshed and the new Shadowclan deputy was dead.

Dawnstar spoke up, "Just please. Both sides have taken heavy hits. There is no point in continuing something that'll get more warriors killed. There is no need to fight anymore."

Soon the white she-cat that was previously imprisoned spoke, "Listen to them! All this bloodshed was and is unnecessary! All this bloodshed was for nothing and you know it! Redstar and Froststar were crazy with power! The clans were meant to be separated! That's how we were made to be!"

Shadowclan and Riverclan slowly relaxed, showing that they were officially surrendering. Dawnstar nodded to Flamefur, "With Froststar dead, I take it that you will become the new Riverclan leader and bring back the peaceful and caring Riverclan there once was."

Flamefur nodded back, "That is my plan."

"Now with Flowerfur and Redstar dead, it looks like Thunderclan, Windclan, and Skyclan will choose who the best leader possible will be for Shadowclan." Dawnstar reassured.

Runningstar spoke without hesitation, "What about Ravenheart?"

Ravenwing looked confused for a second before realizing that he no longer was the only only raven in the clans anymore.

Violetstar nodded, "I think Ravenheart would be a good pick for leadership as well."

ShadowClan clearly didn't like that the other clans were choosing a leader for them, but they didn't exactly have any ideas for a leader.

Dawnstar thought about it, "Ravenheart, would you be willing to be leader of Shadowclan."

Ravenheart nodded his head, "That would be an honor. May this be a beginning of newfound peace."

The other leaders and Flamefur smiled and it was then that the clans went their separate ways, officially marking the end of a war. A war that would become known as the War for Peace or Power later in clan history....
