Chapter 14
Dawnstar slowly started standing up. We will soon turn Shadowclan and Riverclan against their leaders, Dawnstar thought, It's almost time. "What ya thinkin 'bout?" Lionstripe asked in a strange accent. "What voice was THAT?" Dawnstar asked. "I tried to do my best Strikeclaw impression. But still. What are you thinking about?"
Dawnstar had to admit, Lionstripe could go off track and on track without Strikeclaw, the type of cat that hated when other cats went off track, realizing it. It was a...decent Strikeclaw impression anyway, if not funny. "Just about the whole 'plan'"
Lionstripe started to look worried, "I hope it isn't stressing you out." As Lionstripe said that, Bumblestripe walked by and grinned, muttering the words, "I can't wait for Strikeclaw, Alderheart, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather to hear this!"
Dawnstar and Lionstripe heard him say that and shook their heads. Dawnstar continued the conversation, "It isn't, I'm just worried how many cats we might lose if we get caught in our plan."
Lionstripe looked at her with eyes shining in sympathy, "We just need to hope that doesn't happen. If things get real bad, you can expect Bumblestripe to get wise on us."
Dawnstar smiled at the grey tom's sudden wisdom. Bumblestripe kinda reminds me of Birchtail when he gave me one of my lives. "Let's start getting prepared. We won't do anything out of the ordinary for now." Dawnstar ordered. Lionstripe dipped his head and walked off. Dawnstar really hoped the ginger tom didn't die in the inevitable battle.

Lionstripe looked for his friends and siblings. I might as well enjoy the fun I'll have left available.
Lionstripe looked to his left to see Strikeclaw with Mousefang. He's not an option anymore. He looked to his right to see Lionblaze and Hollyleaf talking to Jayfeather. I can handle him. He's left me alone so far. Lionstripe found a spot and sat next too Lionblaze. "What are you doing?" Jayfeather hissed. Lionstripe looked at Jayfeather to warn him not to do anything funny. Jayfeather just started to talk to Hollyleaf again. Well that's working well for now.
"Do you think you could be the cat of leaves? I also wouldn't be surprised with shadows either." Hollyleaf looked uncomfortable with the questions, but answered them nonetheless, "Maybe the leaves?" Jayfeather looked satisfied with the answer and looked at Lionstripe, "That would leave you with shadows. You did show up out of nowhere. So did your friends." As Jayfeather said that, the grey tom looked at Quakepelt and Cloudfoot.
"You should leave Quakepelt and Cloudfoot out of our differences." Lionstripe growled. "Shut it rogue!" Lionstripe just sat and looked at Jayfeather, "I know you want me too attack you, but that isn't going to happen." Lionstripe replied.
Jayfeather leapt at Lionstripe. All Lionstripe did was move out of the way swiftly, and spun his whole body around with quick speed and put a paw down on the medicine cats neck. "Did you reeeally think that was going to work in your favor mouse-brain?!" Lionstripe hissed the question. He was done with Jayfeather. He let go of the tom and walked away from his siblings who did nothing to stop Jayfeather, as cats watched him in suspicious shock. He would rather hang out with the traitors Quakepelt and Cloudfoot after what happened.

Ravenpaw was beyond tired. He had gone on so many patrols. He remained with the name he had. He was younger after Starclan allowed him to be in the real world. It was honestly scarier than when Tigerstar was alive. Soon we'll turn Shadowclan and Riverclan against their own leaders!
Ravenpaw was scared for what might happen. Shadowclan and Riverclan were on extra patrols after losing Thunderclan. It didn't help that Skyclan and Windclan combined forces.
Ravenpaw turned his head when he heard pawsteps heading toward him. "Somebody looks tired today." Lionstripe meowed. "Yeah. I don't remember the clans being this big. There is so much land here too!" Ravenpaw exclaimed. "Glad you enjoy it." Lionstripe replied sadly. Ravenpaw knew why. There was a chance some cats won't make it out alive. Shadowclan and Riverclan were very vicious and ruthless. They would do anything to gain power. Even kill their own cats.
"Is it possible for all of us to make it out alive?" Bumblestripe asked. Ravenpaw and Lionstripe turned their heads to face him. Jayfeather, Alderheart, Lionblaze, Strikeclaw, Cloudfang, Dawnstar, Dovewing, and Silentpaw stared at them with eyes of hope.
Ravenpaw knew that sugarcoating wasn't an option at a time like this, "No. Cats are going to die. But we can't let that knowledge stop us from doing what's right. We need to fight together, despite what clan you're from. We can only win this together." Ravenpaw turned to see Lionstripe looking at Jayfeather with intensity.

"What are you doing hear fox-heart?" Lionstripe growled at Jayfeather. Jayfeather looked straight back, "I know when to trust somebody with something." Jayfeather hissed. Lionstripe hissed back. "Oh really now! Did attacking me prove anything?" Jayfeather hated Lionstripe with all of his might. Jayfeather knew that Lionstripe couldn't be trusted. He couldn't let this cat get away with taking over the clans. He needed a plan to get rid of him.

Silentpaw was beyond tired. He had gone on multiple patrols, trained a bunch with Lionstripe, and had to free the elders of ticks.
"Do you ever wonder if there will be an end to this?" Tornadopaw asked. Silentpaw didn't know how to answer the question.
"Not with Lionstripe in charge that's for sure!" Tornadopaw and Silentpaw turned around to see Dovepaw and Pebblepaw.
"What's your proof?" Tornadopaw asked. "I've seen how hard he works your brother. He trains him way too hard."
"Silentpaw, is this true?" Silentpaw couldn't believe that Dovepaw and Pebblepaw think Lionstripe is trying to exhaust him, "Yes it is, but he isn't doing any harm. He's a really good mentor. He's just passing down the battle moves he knows."
Silentpaw saw a flash of hatred cross Tornadopaw's eyes. Not him too...Silentpaw couldn't do anything as Tornadopaw stalked out of the apprentice's den to confront Lionstripe, when a battle yowl crossed the camp.
Silentpaw looked up to see the large shapes of Shadowclan and Riverclan cats heading down to the camp. Warriors immediately turned to protect the nursery and defend the camp. Lionstripe ran toward the leaders den. Jayfeather and Alderheart defended the medicine cat den. The apprentices went to help the warriors. Silentpaw went to help his brother. The problem was, he couldn't find him. "Tornadopaw, where are you?" Silentpaw yelled. That was when Silentpaw felt his neck being squeezed before everything turned black.

Lionstripe couldn't allow Shadowclan and Riverclan to get to Dawnstar. He had to protect her at all costs. It was instinct for him to do so. An instinct he hadn't felt in a long time. That was when a golden she-cat with green eyes confronted him, "Why aren't you following the plan?" Lionstripe figured this cat was trying to confuse him, "Listen hear mouse-brain. I don't know what you're talking about, but I cannot let you in here. No distraction will make me move out of the way!"
Dawnstar exited her den, "Let her speak. I'm intrigued on this plan." Lionstripe couldn't speak. Dawnstar was letting an enemy cat inside her den, "But what if she-" Lionstripe was cut off. "Are you the clan leader? Cause last time I checked, I make the rules. I give the orders. Do you understand?"
Lionstripe couldn't believe what Dawnstar was doing. "Fine! But if I hear fighting coming from here. I'm coming right back inside. Orders or not." Lionstripe stalked outside, right next to the entrance. Waiting for the sound of fighting. Instead, the she-cat walked out after talking to Dawnstar, and went back to fighting.
Lionstripe walked back in with eyes in shock, "How did she not try to attack you the first chance she got? Did you like do something to her. Just-" The intensity of Dawnstar's stare scared Lionstripe. She had spread a lie. A lie only one cat would dare try to do.
Lionstripe knew he couldn't take immediate action, but he'll definitely confront the cat.
As soon as Lionstripe got to the bottom of the war zone. He watched in horror as a red cat started to drag the limp form of his apprentice.
The ginger tom leapt right on the cat's shoulders in an attempt to distract them from Silentpaw. He was greeted with a claw mark across his neck. Lionstripe knew he couldn't survive without medical care. Care that was inaccessible for him at the moment. All he had to do was protect his apprentice while he could.
Lionstripe leapt onto the tom's shoulders again and this time, digged his claws deep into the tom's sides. Despite having a hold on the tom, he was shaken off once more. Lionstripe lost all fight in him. He was willing to accept his fate.
The last thing Lionstripe saw was Alderheart leaping into battle.

Lionstripe started to wake up. The first thing he saw and smelled, were herbs. Wow. So Jayfeather or Alderheart saved my life. He looked up as Cloudfoot walked in, "Come. Your fate with the clans is being decided." Lionstripe almost jumped up in surprise, "What? What do you mean fate with the clans?" Lionstripe just shook his head, "No matter how hard I try, cats are always against me. Even cats I cared for once." Lionstripe shoved past Cloudfoot. He was tired of seeing the traitors face. He, alongside Quakepelt, abandoned him when he needed them the most.
"What's this fate with the clans Cloudfoot was talking about?" Lionstripe demanded. Dawnstar looked down at him. The whole clan started to bristle at him. Lionstripe couldn't hold his suspicions any longer.
"This was your doing, wasn't it Jayfeather! I should have known you would lie about me! You always had a hate for me! Why wouldn't it be a better time to get rid of me than now?" The three clans bristled at him even more. "That is enough!" Dawnstar yowled, "It was brought to my attention that you have been conspiring with the enemy clans." Lionstripe was furious at the news, "How in Starclan's name do I have the chance to conspire with them? I'm still stuck in the camp if you haven't forgotten!" The clan was ready for if Lionstripe attacked Dawnstar. Like he would. He cared for his leader. He felt it was important to protect her.
"So my loyalties are going to be questioned just like that? There is no evidence that I'm doing so. If you have any proof, lay it down right here!" Jayfeather started speaking, "What about Alderheart?" Lionstripe looked at Jayfeather in shock, "Wait...your not suggesting th-that..." Fury spread across Jayfeather's eyes, "He's dead Lionstripe! Your body was next to his. Silentpaw woke up not that long ago. Lucky you, Silentpaw blacked out before anything happened!"
Lionstripe felt like he was going to fall over. No...It can't be...Alderheart can't be dead...Lionstripe was speechless for a second before he realized he needed to ask something. Someone was missing from the crowd beside Alderheart, "Wait...Where's Tornadopaw?" Lionstripe asked. The three clans put their heads down before Hazelpaw spoke, "Redstar killed him. Redstar was the one that supposedly killed Alderheart.
Memories started flashing through Lionstripe's mind. Redstar, Red tom. Supposedly killed Alderheart. Alderheart leapt into battle against a red tom. Realization struck Lionstripe. The whole clan saw his eyes go wide when he put the pieces together. He looked at them, "The last thing I saw before I also blacked out, was Alderheart leaping into battle against a red tom. I didn't see the tom's face. I was busy trying to get him to let go of Silentpaw..." Lionstripe should've just continued fighting. He shouldn't have tried to accept death.
"How do we know this is true?" Dawnstar declared. Lionstripe looked at her with a sharp look, "What am I? A cat you all can push and shove around. Well that's not how it's going to go anymore. I'm tired of being shoved around. Being accused. Of having to trust others. If you really think I conspired with Shadowclan and Riverclan, exile me right here, right now. I will not return. I will just sit by and watch you all suffer from their attacks. I won't help any of you since you're making it clear you don't need it." Once Lionstripe was finished, the clan continued to stare at him. "You know what? I'm leaving! I've had it! Congrats Jayfeather. Did you get what you wanted? Cause I'm sure Alderheart and Tornadopaw are real proud of you." Lionstripe didn't say another word before walking out of the camp.

Lionblaze couldn't move. He felt like he was betraying Jayfeather. He believed Lionstripe's accusation. He just couldn't figure out why. "You okay Lionblaze?" Cinderheart asked. Lionblaze couldn't lie to her, "No. Lionstripe just walked away after being accused. He looked like he really was done being accused. The last words he said to Jayfeather just chill me. He put all his hatred toward those words. All those moons of torture. Of being back-stabbed by his former friends. Of the accusations. He hated it all. He seemed so calm in the outside. Now he's shown just how much hurt he's gone through."
Cinderheart looked at him sympathetically, "I'm sure he's not telling the truth. Frankly, I think he's lying to himself. He wouldn't just abandon his brother and sister, his friends, especially Dawnstar. I saw him take immediate action to defend her. That was his first thought. Though a cat walked right on in. They walked right out. I think Jayfeather might might've had something to do with this. He might have known that Lionstripe would get tired of the accusations against him, and just walk out."
"That's exactly how I feel!" Lionblaze yowled in silence, "It might be Jayfeather behind Lionstripe leaving, or a coincidence because he was going to plan something." He and Cinderheart felt the exact same. The real question was, who else felt the same?
