Tarc stared at the large boulder in the clearing of his village. The big rock shimmered in the sunlight like a lake on a clear night.
"Hey Tarc." Sunny said popping up next to him. He looked at her slim body. Her face was red with the blood of animals from their recent hunt.
"Hey." Tarc replied. "Where have you been?"
"Wouldn't you like to know." Sunny said sarcastically sprinting towards the cliffy mountains.
"Wait!" Tarc yelled as he ran after her. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see!" Sunny yelled back.
"Thanks for that information!" Tarc said jokingly, "That's just. Just. It, huh."
"Yeah I have no idea what it is." Sunny replied as they arrived at an unknown cave to Tarc.
The limestone floor glowed a greenish hue. Three dark grey spots were in a triangle around an empty pedestal.
Should we get Marse? Yes.
"Get Marse." Tarc demanded. "I'll stay here."
"Yeah." Sunny replied startled. "Yeah ok." She's bounded out of the cave.
Tarc studied the three spots. They all had two little foot marks and each one had a different name of people, Tarc, Sunny, and Quail.
Three pads, three people. Tarc ran as fast as he could towards camp.
He passed Sunny and Marse yelling, "We need Quail!"
Tarc arrived at camp and ran at Quail finding her instantly. He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her toward the cave.

"What the Crap!" Quail yelled way too loud as they arrived. "And why green? Why not red? Or purple?"
"Because that's how it is." Sunny snapped back. "Why do we need her? And what did you find?"
"Each pad has a name on it and a set of footprints." Tarc replied, "One had my name, yours, and Quail."
"Then let's not delay!" Marse demanded. "I have village to run... Also, what are you guys talking about?"
"You can't see it?" Sunny asked.
"No." Marse replied. "I just see a wall."
"Weird." Sunny said. "Well let's go!"
We all walked toward the cave. Tarc stepped onto the pad with his name on it.
Sunny and Quail did the same.
Suddenly the cave slammed shut. Tarc gasped as the pedestal in the middle shot at him.
It wrapped around his body and pulled him off his platform.
A wall closed him off from his friends.
"You'd like clubs. Wouldn't you?" A deep voice growled.
A burly man waked out of the corner.
"Marse?" Tarc asked confused out of his mind.
"No." Whatever it was turned into a black blob that had a shade like the center of a black hole. It rose up and fell to the ground and suddenly looked like a girl. "My name is Marsh. Close but no cigar. But tell me, clubs are your preferred weapon?"
"Yes, but what are you?" Tarc asked even more confused than before.
"The goddess of nature. I also have something better." Marsh said slightly annoyed.
"I thought I recognized you." Tarc said.
