Icepaw

Icepaw watched as her mentor, Shadowpelt, talk to her father. Brownstar nodded his head and padded to high rock. He bunched up his haunches and jumped onto the High Rock, "Let all cats, old enough to catch their prey, gather around the base of high rock for a clan meeting!" He summoned.

Icepaw padded to the base of the massive rock and sat down, excitement prickling at her pelt. Slowly the rest of the clan joined them and gathered by her, murmuring greetings among themselves as they settled. She watched as her mother, Poppytwist, guide her siblings to her side. Their apprentice ceremony must be today as well, she thought.

Her mother sat beside her and whispered into her daughter's hear, "I'm proud of you."

Icepaw pulled away as her mother licked her ear affectionately. "We have four kits that are ready to become apprentices, Owlkit, Longkit, Ashkit, Specklekit, step forward," Brownstar commanded. They padded up, fur gleaming in the sun from a good groom by their mother, "You four have reached the age of six moons, and its time for you to be apprenticed." He started, "Owlkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Owlpaw. Foxflower, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Owlpaw's mentor. You have shown yourself to be brave and smart and I expect you to pass them down on this apprentice," Owlpaw scampered to his new mentor and touched noses, tail high.

"Longkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Longpaw. Ashpool, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Longpaw's mentor. You have shown yourself to be courageous and loving and I expect you to pass them down on this apprentice," Longpaw padded to Ashpool and touched his ginger nose to his mentor's grey one.

"Ashkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Ashpaw. Ambercherry, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Ashpaw's mentor. You have shown yourself to be friendly and caring and I expect you to pass them down on this apprentice," Icepaw shifted her paws impatiently as Ashpaw lifted her head to touch her nose with her mentor.

Brownstar paused before announcing his last apprentice, "Specklekit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Specklepaw. Greyspots, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Specklepaw's mentor. You have shown yourself to be fearless and energetic and I expect you to pass them down on this apprentice"

Brownstar waited until for Specklepaw to touch her nose with her new mentor then said, "We have two apprentices that are ready to become warriors, Silverpaw and Icepaw, step forward,"

Icepaw's tail twitched excitedly as Brownstar spoke the ancient ritual, "I, Brownstar, leader of Thunderclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn," He looked down at the two excited apprentices, "Silverpaw, Icepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan even the cost of your life?

"I do," Silverpaw answered first and Icepaw echoed, "I do."

"Then by the power of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Silverpaw, from now on you will be known as Silvercloud, Starclan honors your courage and strength and we welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan."

"Silvercloud! Silvercloud!" The clan cheered.

When the clan quieted he continued, "Icepaw, from now on you will be known as Icewish. Starclan honors your loyalty and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan." He said his eyes betrayed love for his daughter.

"Icewish! Icewish!" The clan roared.

Brownstar approached Silvercloud and rested his muzzle on her head, and Silvercloud licked his shoulder in respect. Then he lied his muzzle on Icewish's head and she licked her father's shoulder.

"As tradition, these two warriors will keep a silent vigil until dawn and guard the camp wile we sleep," Brownstar commanded, ending the ceremony.
