The moment he set off to  find the " friend " he regretted not taking Starpaw. How could he abandoned her like that?! With this thought, he bounded toward where he had left Starpaw, but the whole camp was gone. He didn't realize that he had already walked for hours and that the sun was already setting. Darkstar quickly found shelter in an abandoned cave, and slowly went to sleep. The next day, he woke up with determination he had never had before, a gift from the Starclan  he guessed. Darkstar went out of the cave and saw a mouse scurrying down the rocks. He tried to quickly snatch but instead only snatched a leaf. " Mouse dung!!" he cried. Then, finally getting over that he had no fresh kill that morning, Darkstar started to climb down from the rocks. He did this with ease, for his paws were as thick as leather. Just after he climbed down, a mouse came right up to him and Darkstar caught it. the mouse did not fulfill his whole hunger but at least a little bit. 

              As he went on his way, he smelled more and more mice. Darkstar cannot stop his mouth from drooling and quickly followed the sent. He reached a Twoleg's den and did not even consider the dangers of the den. And there it was, mouse heaven!! But before Darkstar even started eating, three Twolegs came up to him and shot him with a dart. Before Darkstar went asleep however, he heard them talking, " This one will make us a fortune, boss!"
