Chapter Six

Silverstar felt uneasy. He couldn't sleep. Knots formed in his stomach as he felt a sudden nervousness. He tried to turn around and sleep, but his mind was distanced in another world. It just seemed like something was off. Something important.

Twigs poked him from beneath his nest, and eerie lights lit up his den, casting long shadows against his walls.
Warm mist trickled in, and Silverstar just about lost it. He bolted out his den to see stars twinkling above.

The silverpelt never looked so beautiful. A leaf moon hung in the night sky, an oval of radiating light illuminating the forest with pure white light. And stars dazzled the eyes, making patterns of diamond dots. The stars grew stronger by the moment and new stars appeared, representing the newest StarClan warriors.

But even then, something felt off. Peering up again, Silverstar noticed a trail of stars leading behind the tallest treetops. As though he couldn't control his own paws, he started following the peculiar trail. As his tail disappeared behind foliage, his eyes stayed up looking at the line.

Finally he noticed where he was going . The moonpool! It was too late to turn back now. Silverstar's walk gradually turned into a swift run.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

At last the moonpool came to sight. Silverstar nervously padded over. Whispers whirled around him, riding the wind. He felt a sudden warmth and reassurance. Like everything would turn out right. His eyes were heavy as he walked towards the pool. Then his nose dipped the water.

His vision faded until he found himself in a sparkling emerald forest bathing in golden sunlight. Dewdrops glittered on bright leaves and the soil was fresh and damp. Creatures hopped around, and the sweet forest smells drifted into his nose. He was in StarClan!

"Silverstar!" a voice echoed. Silverstar turned around but no one was there. "Who's there?" Silverstar asked.

A tom brushed through the majestic ferns and faced Silverstar. "Bramblestar!" Mewled Silverstar .

Bramblestar beckoned to Silverstar. "Yes, it's nice to see you as a full grown cat! Much wiser and stronger I see. I have a prophecy to deliver. My first one!" Silverstar detected a note of excitement in his voice.

"Let's hope it's decipherable!" Muttered Silverstar. StarClan would quote out a prophecy through almost a riddle. It was not understandable at the time heard. Usually takes time to understand the moral of what it means. Sometimes they were easy, other times it was hard.

Bramblestar cleared his throat. His eyes were glassy, unfocused as his body shook. Then he was still. "Black and white must save the clans, their powers are our only hope."

"What?" asked Silverstar.

But StarClan was fading away. "I don't understand! Please!" his voice was desperate. Bramblestar was gone and Silverstar found himself in front of the moonpool.

He groaned and sprinted back to the camp. His legs burned as he tried speed up, but the tiredness was overwhelming. Struggling, he could make out ThunderClan camp. Gladly he padded over to the medicine cat den. If there was anyone who could help him, it was Rosedawn.

Silverstar entered the dull room . Tiredness overcame him as he let out a yawn. Instantly, all the dusts and scents tickled his nose and he let out a sneeze. Leaves and roots whirled everywhere in the room, and Silverstar felt embarrassed. After all of Rosedawn's hard work to organize everything!

Well, what could he do about it now? Silverstar stifled more yawns as he got ready to rouse her. But Rosedawn already jumped to her paws.

"Silverstar! What's wrong?" She asked nervously.

Silverstar yawned and tried to reply.
"There was a prophecy......"

Silverstar couldn't finish. He was too exhausted. Black dots faded at the edge of his vision until it gave way to only darkness.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Silverstar blinked in effort. Rosedawn had an excited smile on her face. "The prophecy," he choked, coughing. " it was Black and white must save the clans, their powers are our only hope."

Rosedawn's eyes widened. She had her mouth open silent. Her eyes stared into nothing.

"Rosedawn, what's wrong?" Silverstar asked anxiously. What happened?

Rosedawn shook her head. " You were asleep for a few days. I'm surprised you even remembered! Listen, don't share this prophecy with anyone!"

Silverstar looked confused. "You still never told me what was wrong," Silverstar meowed hesitatingly.

"Fernrose has had kits!" Squealed Rosedawn.

Silverstar stood still gaping, with his mouth ajar. "No way!" He purred in shock, not able to believe it. To have kits of his own...

"Wouldn't you like to see them?" Asked Rosedawn eagerly as she lead Silverstar out of the den. The two walked over towards the nursery, the scent of milk getting to his tastebuds and the cries of newborns warming his heart.

Just then, Silverstar noticed he was like a fool just randomly standing not doing nothing. "Umm, are you ready to go in?" Asked Rosedawn.

Silverstar nodded slipped quietly into the nursery. His mate, Fernose smiled at him. "We have two kits!" She purred, clearly overjoyed.

"Can I see them?" whispered Silverstar.

Fernose meowed. Happiness flooding her body. "Of course you can!"

Silverstar looked over Fernroses body to see two helpless kits meowling. Silverstar noticed something with a shock. Two little bundles, one black, one white.
