Frostfern ran as quickly as she could toward Sunningrocks.

A gray tom stood on the RiverClan side of the river.

"Frostfern!" he mewed happily as he saw her approaching.

He swiftly jumped into the river and swam up to Frostfern as she stopped at the edge of the river. The gray tom climbed up onto the rocky shore.

"Oh, Sootfur!" Frostfern mewed.

"My beloved Frostfern," the RiverClan tom said to her. He stepped forward and nuzzled her cheek. "I love you," he said. Sootfur rested his tail on his paws as he sat down.

"Love you too," Frostfern mewed.

I know I'm betraying the warrior code, but I just can't live without him! thought Frostfern. She gave his wet ears a little lick.

Suddenly, a noise sounded from behind her.

"You should go," hissed an angry voice.

Swiftly, a black she-cat lunged from the bushes at Sootfur. It was Sparkwhisker. She landed on the RiverClan warrior and hissed into his face.

"Sparkwhisker! No!" Frostfern pulled her sister off of the gray tom.

"Frostfern, who is this RiverClan cat? And why is he on ThunderClan territory?" growled Sparkwhisker.

"Oh, and who is this?" Sootfur mewed nervously. "A Clanmate, I presume?"

Frostfern frowned and stepped to Sootfur's side. "Sparkwhisker, I know you'll say I'm a traitor, but this is Sootfur. I met him at a Gathering two moons ago." Frostfern gulped. "And I've been seeing him every night since."

Sparkwhisker's eyes widened. "You're in love with this slimy RiverClan cat?!" Sparkwhisker hissed. "That's breaking the warrior code!"

Frostfern stared helplessly into her sister's eyes. "Sister, please!" she mewed.

"She's your sister?" Sootfur interrupted.

Frostfern frowned at him.

"Sparkwhisker, I couldn't help myself! I love him, so what?" she snapped at the black warrior.

Sparkwhisker's eyes glittered dangerously. "Why?" Sparkwhisker asked her. "Why a RiverClan cat?"

The black warrior lowered her head. "I'll keep your secret, but only meet at Fourtrees, okay? Only Gatherings?" She paused. "So no cat finds out, okay?"

Sootfur sighed. "Alright," he mewed quietly.

"Yes, I agree," added Frostfern. "To keep our secret safe."

Hopefully. she added silently.
