Wind rustled the leaves above the ThunderClan camp. Featherpaw opened her eyes. Her sister, Hawkpaw, dozed in the corner of the apprentices' den. Featherpaw got to her paws and padded into the clearing. Crystalpaw and Dustpaw shared a thrush near the apprentices' stump. Featherpaw padded toward the fresh-kill pile. She picked up a mouse and padded toward the stump. "Featherpaw!" a young tortoiseshell she-cat greeted her. "Seedpaw!" Featherpaw greeted her friend. "Wanna share my mouse?" Seedpaw glanced at the plump piece of fresh-kill. "Sure!" she mewed. The two she-cats sat down, sharing their mouse in peace.
