-Ivypool's POV-

Ivypool looked around the Dark Forest. She saw all the other apprentices with their mentors talking causally. 

The apprentices would be talking calmly to their mentors or the apprentices would be flinching away fearfully. Ivypool knew her relationship with Hawkfrost was...different.

"Ivypool." A voice purred. She turned around to see Hawkfrost.

"Hawkfrost." She meowed levelly. Hawkfrost laughed suddenly.

"What? What's so funny?" Ivypool asked.

"Brokenstar is scolding Breezepelt." Hawkfrost growled. Ivypool grinned.

"Hilarious." Ivypool purred. Hawkfrost led her away from the other apprentices.

"So.." Hawkfrost meowed. He entwined his tail with hers. Ivypool nuzzled closer to him, surprising herself.

"I'm happy like this.." Ivypool whispered. Hawkfrost nodded.

"I wish that we could stay like this forever..." Hawkfrost breathed.

"But we shouldn't..." Ivypool meowed quietly. Hawkfrost flattened his ears.

"You're right..." Hawkfrost meowed. He pulled away from her slowly. Ivypool sighed. Dovewing had fallen in love with a cat who was alive.... Why couldn't Ivypool do the same??

"I need to go.." Ivypool suddenly growled. Hawkfrost hesitated then nodded. His blue eyes darkened.

"Just remain loyal to the Dark Forest. And... Nothing will go wrong.." Hawkfrost meowed. Ivypool solemnly nodded.

"I promise." Ivypool whispered.

But that was a promise she couldn't keep forever.
