Clear Morning
Ivypool's POV-
Ivypool padded through the forest, tiredness dragging at her paws. I can't wait to see Hawkfrost tonight... She yawned and kept walking along. The birds sang from up in the trees, and the air had a morning coolness to it, that was nice to breath in. Soon she reached the Shadowclan border where she sniffed the air for prey.
"Ivypool?" A voice suddenly meowed. Ivypool's fur fluffed up in alarm. Tigerheart!
"Don't worry. I wouldn't hurt a Dark Forest clan-mate!" Tigerheart meowed.
"Tigerheart?! Don't creep up on me like that!" Ivypool meowed, shaking out her fur.
"I'm sorry. I thought you were... Someone else." Tigerheart meowed. Ivypool narrowed her eyes. Was Dovewing still visiting Tigerheart?
"That's fine I guess. I might see you tonight. Hawkfrost decided to introduce me to the other cats that are part of the Dark Forest. I can't wait!" Ivypool meowed.
"Great! Hope I'll see you!" Tigerheart replied. Tigerheart leaped into the bushes and soon his scent began to grow more faint. The thought of Hawkfrost made her blush just slightly. I can't wait to see him... Ivypool laughed slightly. She didn't know why, she just did.
-Briarlight's POV-
After Briarlight finished her rabbit, she dragged herself outside. The sun was shining brightly and the warm rays of sun felt nice on her fur. She noticed her brother, Bumblestripe, and her sister, Blossomfall, talking to each other.
"Hey guys!" Briarlight called. "What are you guys talking about?"
"Oh um..." Blossomfall meowed. Blossomfall and Bumblestripe looked at each other as if they were unsure whether to tell Briarlight or not.
"Go ahead. I won't judge." Briarlight meowed cheerfully.
"Erm, well... I was just asking Blossomfall if she had a crush on anybody..." Bumblestripe meowed slowly. Briarlight felt her heart sink...
"Well... Toadstep is really nice..." Blossomfall trailed off.
"I like Dovewing but... I don't think she likes me.." Bumblestripe flattened his ears.
"Nonsense! You're a very kind, sweet, cat! Dovewing will soon realize you're the best cat for her!" Briarlight meowed.
"Thanks Briar! So who do you like?" Bumblestripe asked. Despite the fact their tones were light and casual, Briarlight felt pressure weighing down on her.
"Uh.... I mean.." Briarlight stuttered.
"It's fine if you don't have a crush." Blossomfall meowed.
"I do, it's just... You know, I should go.. Jayfeather... might start wondering where I am." Briarlight replied, and before her siblings could reply she dragged herself away.
-Icecloud's POV-
"Soooo, Icecloud." Lionblaze meowed.
"It's great to be able to talk to you. We don't talk that much!" Icecloud meowed, shifting herself slightly closer to him.
"Yep! Should we hunt down the squirrels then?" Lionblaze mewed.
"I don't see why not..." Icecloud meowed slowly. As they padded along in silence Icecloud, felt disappointment itch at her paws. Would Lionblaze ever realize how she felt? Icecloud scrambled up a tall tree.
"Um be careful up there!" Lionblaze called up to her.
"Don't be a chicken! Come up here with me!" Icecloud purred. Lionblaze hesitated, obviously reluctant to go up. Finally he began to claw his way up the tree. Soon he was next to Icecloud in the tree.
"I'm sure we look like squirrels up here!" Icecloud giggled. Lionblaze smiled and Icecloud blushed.
"There!" Lionblaze meowed. Lionblaze quickly scurried over and pounced on a squirrel. The squirrel leaped out of Lionblaze's paws. Then to Icecloud's horror Lionblaze began to slide of the tree branch. Icecloud darted forward and grabbed Lionblaze by the scruff before he fell.
"Woah! Careful!!" Icecloud meowed worriedly. Lionblaze manged to regain his balance.
"T-Thanks Icecloud! For a split second I thought I was going to fall off!" Lionblaze meowed.
"Of course! I'll always be there to catch you!" Icecloud purred softly. For a few heart beats they stood there in silence and stared into each others eyes.
"Guys! Did you catch the squirrel yet?" A voice called from down below. Icecloud looked down and saw Cinderheart.
"I tried to get it but it escaped." Lionblaze replied, his tone suddenly causal.
"Oh, okay. For a second there, I thought I saw you next to Icecloud and you..." Cinderheart trailed off, her blue eyes full of hurt and defiance. Icecloud glared at Cinderheart.
"No. She just caught me before I fell off the tree. That's all." Lionblaze replied. The golden tom leaped down from the tree and padded over to Cinderheart. He brushed his pelt against Cinderheart, purring. Icecloud blinked. When will he ever realize?
