Herb Gathering - 8
Thunderpaw quickly woke up, ears alert and fur bristling. She heard a noise and had woken up from it, half scared to death thinking somone broke in camp. Focusing the urge to open her eyes from a well earned sleep, she saw Brightpaw's shadow figure standing up with her eyes wild in fear. Curious, she looked at her. "Brightpaw! You nearly scared me out of my fur!" Thunderpaw mewed. "Sorry," Brightpaw shrugged, panting "Bad dream." Was all she said before Foxpaw poked her head in the den along with Icyclaw. "What's wrong?" Foxpaw asked, her eyes wide. "We heard a noise and decided to come here. Why are you awake? It's still dark, you know." Icyclaw narrowed his green eyes.
"Just a bad dream," Brightpaw huffed, rolling her blue eyes to the back of her head. Foxpaw broke into a breath of laughter when she heard Brightpaw's excuse. Thunderpaw narrowed her eyes. Brightpaw seemed to scared and worried for it to be "just a bad dream". Before Thunderpaw could open her mouth to say anything, she saw Owlpaw wake up. Owlpaw growled. "Thanks for waking me"
Icyclaw rolled his eyes. "Just go back to sleep. Fernleaf, Nightfang, Bumblesong, Foxpaw, and I are going to go on night patrol and check the DawnClan and MoonClan borders." With a flick of his tail, Icyclaw disappeared from the apprentice room. "At least they didn't wake up Berrypaw."
Thunderpaw stared at Brightpaw again with narrowed eyes, checking to see if she would tell her anything. Brightpaw just stiffened and looked back at Thunderpaw. Thunderpaw flicked her tail and went to rest in her moss bed, her icy blue eyes closing. Stretching, Thunderpaw went back asleep.
Opening one eye, she felt the hot sun reach the apprentice den. Thunderpaw jumped out of her cozy nest and touched the soft earth with her paws. Padding out of the apprentice den, she began thinking of why Brightpaw was so startled the other day. She jumped over a boulder and walked toward Honeymist talking to Cinderfoot about herbs. "....And we need some more cobwebs as well. Don't forget thyme and marigold." Cinderfoot mewed, flicking his tail toward the stock they had inside. Honeymist nodded then turned her head to look at Thunderpaw.
"Morning to you, Cinderfoot and Honeymist." Thunderpaw purred. "Lovely day, isn't it?" Cinderfoot sighed, breathing in the crispy air, nose twitching. "I best be off if I need to get my herbs, Thunderpaw." Honeymist purred. "Can I come? Please? I'm bored and I need something to do." Thinderpaw blurted out, falling to the ground and putting her head over her paws in boredom.
Cinderfoot's eyes narrowed. "Don't you need to do apprentice jobs?" He asked, twitching one of his gray and speckled ears. "He is right." Honeymist agreed, nodding her brown thick haired head. "Nightstar has things to do" Thunderpaw groaned. Cinderfoot flicked his tail as in they can go if they wanted then he went inside the den, mumbling herb remedies. "All right then. Let's go" Honeymist smiled.
..........................
Thunderpaw bounced around, checking for herbs that Honeymist described. "Will you stop fooling around? This is serious work and it takes responsibility." Honeymist scolded, not looking up from a bush. "Hey, I can be responsible!" Thunderpaw mewed. "Then act responsible and look for the herbs." Honeymist smirked. Thunderpaw only wanted to go outside was because she wanted to stretch her legs, but Honeymist was bossing her around. Thunderpaw just kept doing as commanded. She might as well do something as she was out there.
