Chapter Thirteen

I am sitting pretty here on the couch while my eyes never stop from rolling everytime Dawn leaves a word about what I was about to do to that blonde clumsy lately. Why the heck do they seem to be defending that girl? What the heck?

“Still, you shouldn't take revenge on her. You'll just get yourself in trouble. Helly, can't you get that? Don't let your emotions eat you, Helly.” Dawn distressingly cleared his thoughts out, but still, I don't care.

Can't he get it? I hate that girl.

I crossed my arms on my chest and threw a cold stare at him as I looked up. “Oh? You might have forgotten that I was the victim here and she obviously did it intentionally. For all you know, she just threw her pasta at me and everyone in the cafeteria saw it. Dawn, I was embarrassed!” I can't help shouting it.

He sighed heavily, as in heavily. Seems like he became stressed because of me now. Then what will he do after this? Leave me? That thought hurts me but I don't care. I didn't ask for their appearance in the first place.

“I know you're embarrassed but you'll much more draw attention if you will make a scene, right?”

“I don't care.” I rolled my eyes and grab my bag and finally decided to leave his unit. “Bye.” That was the coldest ‘bye’ ever.

As I was about to walk away, I felt an arm grab me and that was him. I tried to get his arm off but he was so strong so I failed and can't grab mine. I sighed in annoyance because of it as my pride went up.

“Dawn!”

I immediately gulped and suddenly hugged me tightly. I felt his very masculine body embrace me and suddenly I felt relaxed. I can't help but hug him back. I am supposedly mad now but what happened?

I felt his breath on my neck so I bit my lower lips to hide my smile. What the heck Helly! Don't smile!

“I'm sorry…”

His voice was gentle and soft now unlike a while ago, they were baritone so it is intimidating. I don't know how to respond so I just hug him tighter. Even though I still don't understand why they are defending that clumsy woman.

“Why is it that everyone doesn't want to listen to my explanation?”

I said as I remembered Daddy. I miss him so much but he is still mad at me, I think? I want him to talk to me calmly so I can explain everything. I still didn't introduce Dawn to him.

“Whatever your explanation is, I know it matter but Helly, revenge won't really satisfy you. Don't let your devil's side lead you to do hellish things. Hold your temper. No matter how popular you are in your school, once they see your bad side, they will leave you and act as if they didn't know you after.”

He said meaningfully. He caressed my hair the whole time while I was listening to him. Yeah, they might leave me. And Daddy? Is he leaving me now? I see he is so damn tired because of my behavior and now, I still didn't receive any call from him. So, I think he is leaving me now, that's it?

“What if they just misinterpreted it? They didn't even bother to listen to my explanation, Dawn.” This time, I glared at him.

“It's because of their pride, Helly. When you feel that no matter what happens, you don't want to forgive someone for something that they do. That woman she is at fault, that's it so you will serve her right, you are planning to take revenge on her.”

I looked down as the guilt filled my whole body. Oh, I see. Never did in my whole entire life have Daddy raised his pride. He always forgives me. As I've said before, he can't pass a day without forgiving me. However, it seems to have changed now. People change.

I nodded as I understood what he said. “Thank you, Dawn,” I said with my full sincerity. I finally smiled at him. He calmed me down and now, I am finally feeling well.

“Don't worry, no matter what flaws I will see in you, I won't leave you. I prefer lecturing you and leading you to the right decisions rather than leaving you alone because of it.” I gulped immediately when he just kissed my forehead. My hands suddenly tremble. I think he felt it as he held it tighter. Damn you, Dawn. You're teasing me.

For the next few days, I felt well. Ethann is bugging me again, but as Dawn told me, I hold my temper. I am acting more casual towards him now but that doesn't mean he already had the chance. I just don't want to be hard on everyone.

No matter how praising comments they throw at me, I am still a human so I should act like one. Dawn is right. After all, if I do something wrong, they will leave me without asking for my explanation. I'm not a bad girl so I should act like one.

Within those days, I studied well. I am planning to go home this coming weekend. I want to say sorry to Dad. It's been days so I think I can talk to him now. Though, there is always a part of me that got pissed and annoyed as Ethann still never distanced himself from me.

Good thing, Ethann is busy with his family business (he is also an heir) so he will go home earlier than our usual 'go home time'. Anytime soon, Mr. Gladstone will take over their company to the heir that's why Ethann is busier now.

Dawn always picked me up from Suneast and drove me to school. I appreciate everything— every bit of his efforts to me because I know he is busy too. The fact that he handles their company but he still has time to flutter me.

“OMG, she's so cute!” I hugged the white cat.

We are here in Shannie's unit to do our homework together. It's some kind of group study.

“Helly, he's male.” Yulla threw a glare at me and put his eyes back to her notes.

I just shrugged. I didn't know. He looks like a girl cat because of her cuteness. Shannie rolled her eyes. She is not fond of cats. She got irritated immediately but her Mommy brought this to her unit so she will have someone with her. Perks of being single and still haven't moved on from her ex. The heck, the fact that he cheated on her multiple times but she is still drooling over him.

“You can bring that to your unit, Eummie babyboo,” she said while writing something on a small piece of paper. I suddenly became curious. What? Really?!

My mouth becomes 'O' in awe. Like, really? I can bring this cutie cat with me?! I immediately went in her direction and hugged her tight. I really want to have a cat but Daddy has an allergy to cats so I chose to don't pick one.

“Really?!” I screamed.

“Of course, damn I hate cats.” She cringed.

“Why don't you just throw it?” I joked.

“What? No way, you know, it was me who doesn't want cats but that would never be a reason for me to just throw them away. I can give them to you anyway so why the heck would I throw them?!”

I immediately felt overwhelmed. Oh my, she is planning to give the cat to me.

I went back to our paperwork while the white cat was on my lap. I see, Shannie didn't make a name for the cat. She indeed hates cats but is not a devil enough to just throw them away. Good thing, though.

We came here from school because our terror biology professor asked us to submit this group work tomorrow. Shannie's unit has more groceries among us three so we chose to do the homework here.

After that, we bid our goodbyes. It's already late and Yulla's possessive boyfriend is already here to drive her home. We are done with our homework and I immediately felt my phone vibrate sign that someone texted.

I saw Dawn's text and told him that he is on his way here and I just have to wait. Yeah, he knows that I'm here because he was the one who drove me here, directly from the University. It's already late, I thought he was busy. He has a lot of work to do… I can't hide my smile when I realize one thing. He always spent time with me no matter how busy his day was.

“Hi!” I happily greeted as I saw his black mustang stop.

“Who gave you that?” I see, the cat caught his attention.

“Shannie, she hates cats so she just gave this to me. Isn't it fluttering? Finally, I have a baby now!” I exclaimed with glowing eyes while caressing the cat who rubbed its head to my chest.

I heard Dawn chuckle. “You already had me.”

My forehead knotted as I don't get what he said for a moment. I just laughed and walked towards his car. I am busy kissing the cat's head and patting it. I fluttered every time I heard its snore. I kissed the cat multiple times—the reason why Dawn is laughing while driving.

“What if we'll give him a name?” An idea popped up in my mind.

I heard him nodded, obviously thinking about it. “Fine then, what would be his name?”

“Help me decide! This is our cat now!” I said happily.

Dawn is chuckling again, damn his chuckles. “Hmm, give me a minute.” I am also thinking about it. Until I decided that what if I'll name this something related to his name?

“I knew it! Dyxxie!” I remembered his name has a lot of letters 'X'.

“Helly, the cat is a boy. That name sounds girly,” he said so I pouted. “Make it Dyxx”

I bit my lips to hide my soulful laugh. My dirty mind turned on. Oh my, it sounded like an—oh SPG. He seemed to realize it too because I spotted him whispering something to himself.

“Fine, Dyxxie then.”

On that night, he again slept beside me as we both enjoyed spending time with Dyxxie. The cat is a moody type and he immediately loses his temper. That's why we both love to tease him.

Until we fell asleep with Dyxxie who's in between us.
