The Legend of Madeline les Bois, Servant of the Lady: The Triumph of Beauty
((By Robert Claus A youtube Comenter))
The Beastmen truly were ugly creatures, ugly in mind, body, and spirit. They stood in stark contrast to fair Bretonnia in all it's beauty, beauty of mind, body, and spirit. But there was more to it than that, from her fragmented memories of training under the Lady of the Lake, she remembered being taught to hate the Beastmen, along with other, more wild memories. Whatever her past, she knew that the Beastmen had to be exterminated. Louis agreed with her, as he seemed eager to charge into their ranks. Before them stood a horde of over 5000 of the vile creatures, these wretched curs had even warped the land with their presence, making it incredibly unpleasant for Madeline to be here. But, the Lady's will was unquestionable, Khazrak One-Eye was to become Khazrak No-Eye once Louis had gouged out his eye. There was no backing down or surrender, Madeline knew very well what fate she would have if they lost, and it was something she would not allow. The battle raged on for many hours, not only did she restore the men of Duke Bohemond, but she gave many of the foul creatures a far more beautiful and elegant death than any of them deserved. Louis even got into the spirit, chasing around a terrified crew with eyes bloodshot with righteous fury, and the noble foam of chivalry coming out of his mouth. He tore into any beastmen, and the occasional peasant, foolish enough to get too close to him, warning them all that Madeline was a fair maiden and he would not let anyone touch her. Eventually, the enemy was routed though at great cost. All of the battle pilgrims had fallen in service to the Lady, though Sir Pierre appeared to be as fine as ever. She enjoyed speaking with him, even though he was technically dead, a portion of his spirit was still preserved in his sanctified corpse. The peasants tended to give her odd looks, but one glance from Louis usually got them to go on their way. Sir Pierre had lived an interesting life, and it was a shame that it ended so quickly and in such an ignoble manner. But even in death, he still served, and the Lady loved him for it. As Madeline surveyed the twisted battlefield, she knew it would be a while before beauty would return to the land, but it would return, as the Lady had promised.
