Madeleine now found herself in the lands of Sylvania, they were taking a little detour from their Badlands crusade, apparently the Lady wanted to see the end of the Vampire threat in the Empire. The lands of Sylvania were quite loathsome, she had traveled in the cursed lands of Mousilion, but for some reason, Sylvania was far worse, the corruption here was more ancient and powerful, and it offended her magically attuned senses. Thankfully, she had seen to it that they wouldn't starve on their crusade, which was a good thing, since there was little foraging to be done. Purchasing supplies in the Empire had been a headache, as one Imperial copper equaled 20 Bretonnian coppers, on a good day, but they had persevered. The battle of Templehoff had been a interesting affair. She had slain Dire Wolves, Vargheists, and even a Necromancer, not to mention those her magic killed. All in all it had been a good day. The Necromancer didn't even know what hit him as Louis came charging forward, goring him with his horn. His necromancy was no match for her pure and noble life magic. If not for the Lady's blessing, she would not have been as successful in Sylvania as she had been. The battle had been great with many losses, which was nothing new, but the fact that the city was wide open and undefended after their battle was a frustrating detail after the Duke decided to retreat back to friendly Imperial lands, instead of securing Castle Templehoff. Oh well, at least the Duke had stopped trying to appoint men of dubious character and reliability into positions of power. Now if only she could find someone she could trust to handle the books.
