Madeline Special: A Somber Funeral
((By Robert Claus A youtube Comenter))
On their way to Karak Norn while traveling through Imperial territory, the Army of the Duke met up with his Marquis. With them, they brought the body of the Damsel Sophia. It was Madeline's duty to see to her, being the closest servant of the Lady with the highest rank. She wasted no time in securing the body, though one of the peasants dared to touch his bare skin. That peace of land now had a tree dotting his landscape, a testament to the Lady's wrath against those who would seek to show disrespect to her fallen servants. She had the remaining peasants carry the body to a nearby pond. She would of preferred a lake in Bretonnia, but right now the pond would have to do. She chased all of them off, what happened next was not for their eyes. Sophia Du Beaumont had always been a strangle damsel, impetuous and headstrong, always eager to charge into the heart of battle. It would appear that that had been her undoing. Though, she had delivered grievous harm to the Dwarfs before falling, including taking out two of their slayers. That was so like her, always eager for a scrap. Madeline fondly remembered chastising her for her unladylike behavior. She was an odd girl, but a devoted servant, and she would be missed. Madeline walked into the pond, and began pulling the boat with her. As she did this, a mist began to appear on the water. A pair of ephemeral hands took the boat from Madeline's grasp. "Thank you for returning your sister to me Madeline. Be at ease, for I have called her back to my side, as is the fate for all my damsels." The Lady of the Lake spoke directly to her. "Now, return to the noble Duke, he needs your guidance, especially for the hardship you shall soon face." And with that, the mist cleared, and Madeline found herself waist deep in a pond. The boat was gone, taken home by the Lady of the Lake. This incident had brought made Madeline question her own mortality, and what truly waited her when she died. She knew the Lady would reward her, but she didn't know what the reward was. She would have time to ponder this later, right now, she had to return to the Duke.
