Hogwarts (HP Part 1) - EVERYONE
**I love Harry Potter. I'm not sure if I've established that yet. I LOVE Harry Potter. Not the character, but the book series. No warnings for this one.
Sorry if you don't agree with my sortings (I wanted the ships to each be in the same houses). Sorry if this sucks. It's a medley of all that Romaine, Sasuke x Jax, and Hasher goodness. Let's go.**
Professor McGonagall was standing before the Great Hall, her back severely straight and the Sorting Hat in her grasp. In her other hand was a piece of parchment, listed with names of first-years. Surrounding her was a crowd of children, their big, curious eyes darting around the Great Hall, some with apprehension, some with excitement.
"Jiminez, Hamilton," announced McGonagall. A young girl emerged from the crowd, her normally uncontrollably curly hair swept back into a bun. Unlike most of her fellow first-years, she was an apotheosis of confidence. She held her head high as she stepped up to the front and took her seat in the stool.
After some mumblings from the Sorting Hat - mostly about her mind, as sharp as her ambition - it echoed through the Great Hall: "Gryffindor!"
A grin spread across Hammie's face as she leapt down from the stool and walked to the table of Gryffindor students, who erupted into applause. She sat down, eagerly accepting the onslaught of welcomes and congratulatory remarks.
The boy sitting next to her couldn't have been that much older. Maybe a year ahead of her. "Welcome to Gryffindor," he grinned, turning to her and offering his hand. "I'm Asher."
After a moment, Hammie blushed when she realized she'd been staring. "I'm Hamilton," she said, shaking his hand. "Hammie for short."
When the attention of the room was back on Professor McGonagall, she cleared her throat to announce: "Taylor, Jackson."
The crowd cleared a path for a young girl with short, silver pigtails. She stepped forward, still trying to process all that was happening. As she turned around to sit down, she met eyes with the boy she had befriended on the train ride there.
It was a long moment before the Sorting Hat finally cried: "Slytherin!"
Jackson smiled with satisfaction, stepping down to meet her fellow Slytherins. An uproar, to say the least, of cheers bursted from their table. All of her nerves washed away, especially when the first-year she'd met on the train walked up to take a seat next to her at the Slytherin table. She hadn't even heard McGonagall say, "Tanaka, Sasuke."
"I'm glad we're in the same house, Jackson," Sasuke said after he'd sat down.
"Me too," she grinned. "You can call me Jax if you want," she added.
"'Jax'..." he echoed. "I like that."
Jax blushed.
"Blackbourne, Tremaine."
There was a hush among the crowd. Tremaine's mother had brought shame to the Blackbourne name. Even in the wizarding world, it was known that the Blackbourne family was in the lower class, to say the least.
Tremaine kept his head down as he approached the Sorting Hat. He wasn't the bounty hunter that competed with the Demon Brigade: He was a shy little 11-year-old, his face definably rounder and hair shorter. The fact that he was Muggle-born didn't make it any easier to fit in. His hair fell into his eyes as he sat in the chair, anxiously awaiting his fate.
Feeling the eyes on him, Tremaine wanted to curl up and hide. It felt like a thousand eons before: "Ravenclaw!"
Tremaine's lips curled into the faintest smile. The mere idea of being Sorted helped him to feel like he belonged.
He sat down at the table, smiling kindly at the Ravenclaws that cheered for him. The first time he made eye contact was with a pair of shockingly soothing brown eyes, and Tremaine couldn't pull away.
"Welcome," the eyes' owner said kindly. "I promise there's no reason to be nervous. I'm Roshan."
Tremaine forced himself back to reality. "I'm Tremaine," he said softly.
"Welcome to Ravenclaw, Tremaine."
"...Thanks." He smiled. And for the first time, he felt like he had a friend. This was going to be a good year.
A/N: I have absolutely nothing against Hufflepuff, they're my second-favorite house besides my own, I just couldn't find/think of a ship that fit into Hufflepuff. <3
