Camp 1942,

In the evening we were given our schedules

From 4am to 6am we had to exercise , then practice , other duties at appointed places (like cleaning ,kitchen duty ,...etc) then again practice ,after 6.30 we had a short break , then again duties at appointed places, finally night watch.

That was our day to day work.

Me, Jon and Jaya we three were in one team and got training to operate fighter air crafts. But Muni and Kira were in the other team.
Now it's been a month since we started training .

Today evening they want us to come up to the meeting place. I think they are going to make an important announcement.

Meeting place
Commander trenchanted .
" The pilots operating the fighter air planes and 100 other military men should leave to Ratmalana RAF camp tomorrow. There you will be specially trained............. " Oh! God he was taking hours to finish his speech. So this was the point  we are leaving tomorrow. He could have said it in one sentence.

From there all of us left to our barracks .and got our things ready for the morning . we packed canned foods and stuff . I think it's going to be a long journey travelling from one end to another end.
We left Tricomalee at 3 in the pitch dark morning.

Ratmalana

After hours and hours of travelling we arrived at Ratmalana RAF camp. the journey was so tiring .bumpy roads ,  dust.
Simply if I say The roads were the complete opposite of Britain roads.
We headed to our barracks soon after dinner and settled down for a bit .

Next day
As usual we got up at 4 in the morning and started excercising
After that we were lead to a wide ground . many fighter air crafts were there.
Some of them were fighters and fighter bombes,Torpedo bombers,Trainers and target tugs , RAF bombers ,Dive bombers.

I got to use the Avro Lancaster RAF bomber aircraft .It's a four engined heavy bomber. It is mainly used to bomb at night. Not that it cannot be used at day time. But I loved it ...this is super cool

And Jon got to use the Avro Anson is a twin engine multirole  aircraft and It is a navigation and bomber trainer aircraft. These aircrafts are mostly used now a days

And Jaya got to use a Hawker hart .....and it is a two seated biplane ,light bomber target aircraft . though it is not much used now. They have it for practices i guess.
Me and Jon have practiced in them in trinco. But Jaya hadn't .he is new to this .maybe that's why they gave him a Hawker hart .
We kept practicing on different air crafts everyday.

As I lay on my bed and thought to myself at night .All of these things feels like a dream Its been 2 months already .I came to Ceylon on a cold December morning it's already February now . some how I managed to send a letter to Anne ones a month .

Time flies really fast
