Description

After the disappearance of Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson and Lucas Sinclair will stop at nothing to find him. Even after being told not to go out looking by the Chief, nothing will hold the three 12 year old boys back from finding their best friend.

Meanwhile, the older sister to Mike, Nancy Wheeler, has her own problems. Her boyfriend Steve Harrington and his friends invite her to a party, and she of course brings along her best friend Barbara Holland. After Nancy tells Barb to leave, she stays. She sits on the edge of the diving board to Steve's pool while Steve and Nancy are caring less about where anyone is. Next thing anyone knows, Barb disappears.

Above all that, Nancy is trying to help her newer friend, Maggie, who is experiencing depression but won't tell anyone except for Nancy.

Back in Mike's life, him and his friends discover another kid who isn't Will, and Mike insists on bringing them back to his house. Although the appearance of their discovering seems masculine, it's really a girl named Jane Ives who only knows herself as Eleven after being kept in a huge lab and used as an experiment since she was an infant and taken from her mother at birth.

Above all this is the story of Joyce Byers, the mother to William Byers. After the disappearance of her son, Joyce is in disbelief and won't stop until she finds what really happened to him. Though cops have looked for him and told her she was going crazy for the things she was seeing, Joyce knew they were wrong and that only she would be able to find her son truly.

What are the fates of the two disappearing people? Only time will tell for the town of Hawkins.
