"MAX VERSTAPPEN, YOU ARE THE WORLD CHAMPION!"

"No!"

Nora Aden screamed at the top of her lungs as she watched the television, her dark eyes wide as her brain pieced it all together what was happening.

Her hands grabbed a hold of her wooden coffee table resting in the middle of her living room, near to where her knees were since she had been on the edge of her sofa, and forced it upwards, sending it flying across the room in her rage.

The contents of what had been laying on top of the table had gone everywhere too, and that included her water, her three empty water bottles, the television remote, a bowl of popcorn, and her mobile phone.

Her eyes narrowed in to slits as she noticed the new World Champion on her screen, her hand grabbing the phone of her younger brother who had been sitting beside her, and launching it towards the television screen in an attempt to get the Dutch man, Max Verstappen off her screen.

Instead, it caused a loud cracking sound to fill the duos ears, having both been from the phone that she had thrown and the television which now was stuck frozen on Max's face, a large crack across most of the screen.

"What was that for? You've broken my phone and the TV!"

Her brother, Assad, yelled at her in annoyance, having been looking forward to watching the last race of the two thousand and twenty one season in Formula One.

Nora rolled her eyes in distaste of her brother, lifting her hand up to his face, pushing him harshly back down on to the sofa, hearing him grumble at her attitude.

It wasn't his fault that Max Verstappen had won instead of Lewis Hamilton and yet, he seemed to be the brunt of her anger.

Well, after the coffee table and the television, obviously.

The Aden girl walked towards the wrecked coffee table in order to grab her phone before picking it up and heading towards her bedroom so that she could let out her frustrations more, without being criticised by her brother.

Her leg ached as she walked, her hand clutching at her hip as she rushed up the stairs, which did not help the pain at all, in fact it made it a lot worse.

As she made it in to her bedroom, the young woman collapsed against her door both in sadness and in agony as the burning pain in her leg and hip became almost too much for her, crystal clear tears leaving her eyes and falling down her cheeks as she struggled to move, to breathe, to talk.

Her mind couldn't believe that Lewis Hamilton hadn't managed to get his eighth world title, instead that of Max Verstappen had managed to get his first instead, based only on the result of that final race.

Her body, however, couldn't believe that she had moved so suddenly and with so much power and rage, since she knew how weak her body had been, especially the lower half, since she was in a bad accident a few years ago.

It always took so much energy out of her on a normal day and it was not a normal day.

Nora was forced to move on her stomach to army crawl towards her bedside table, since that was where her painkillers were, and even though they wouldn't be able to get rid of all of the pain, nothing had been able to do that, it would be able to get rid of some of it.

And that was something.

Sobs left her lips as she waited for the pain to ease a little bit, her eyes now red and sore, her nose running and her ears ringing, her throat also sore as if she had been scratching at it.

It just didn't seem right, Lewis not having an eighth championship, he had been dominating the sport for ages, and now all of a sudden, somebody else had the world title?

It was ridiculous!

Once the pain had eased enough for her to manoeuvre herself a little bit better, Nora was able to push her body up and on to her bed, crawling underneath her sheets so that she could wrap herself up and cry herself to sleep, dreaming on how different it would have been if it was Lewis who had won, instead of Max.

She could hear her brother cleaning up her mess downstairs in the living room, making her roll her body over so that she was facing the wall in her room, her white sheets now pulled up until they were right underneath her chin.

She knew that her parents would be mad at her, she knew that they wouldn't understand, neither would Assad, they would never understand.

Kaarina wouldn't be very happy with her either, but she knew that her best friend would be much more concerned over her health than her sudden outburst at her favorite formula one driver losing.

Her health was more important.

"Fuck You, Max Verstappen."

Nora Aden whispered to herself, her throat croaky sounding, as she knew that from that moment on, Max Verstappen was the man that she hated the most in the world.

And there were a lot of men on that list, but Max was now officially at the very top of that list.

"I look stupid."

"You don't look stupid!"

"I do!"

Nora Aden complained as she sat unmoving in a black wheelchair, crutches behind her since she had been unable to walk a distance enough that satisfied her best friend Kaarina, which meant that Kaarina had no other choice that to force Nora in to a wheelchair, even though she knew that she hated it.

It was to save her being in pain after every step that she took, so it was worth her being moody with her for the rest of the day.

Her dark hair was down and wild, some strands blowing in to her face as the wind hit her, her face morphing in to a glare at the annoying action that just kept on happening.

She hated using the wheelchair.

It was uncomfortable for starters, it annoyed her that it wasn't one that she could push herself, which meant that she had to rely on somebody else to push her, and she thought that it made her look stupid, frail and weak.

And she wasn't weak.

She might have been frail but that wasn't by choice. That was her hips fault.

It also made everybody stare at her, which she didn't like.

A lot were of glances of sympathy, which she hated, others were disgusted which she obviously hated even more, and some people looked at her in the wheelchair as if questioning whether she actually needed it.

Overall, she hated people.

"Nora, you don't look stupid. Besides, you couldn't even walk, so what would have been worse than this? People seeing you being carried?"

Kaarina Ahonen spoke in a stern but loving voice towards her best friend, her blonde hair tied back in to a ponytail, a grey sweatshirt on her body that she had paired with a pair of light blue denim jeans.

"This is embarrassing!"

"I don't care! I'm not having you strain yourself more by trying to prove a point and walking when you can't!" Kaarina raised her voice slightly, just trying to do the best for her best friend who she knew was very stubborn and always had been.

Nora released a huff of annoyance.

Kaarina pushed her friends wheelchair through the area where the turnstiles were, giving a thankful smile to a member of staff that had given her a helping hand.

The duo had just arrived in to the paddock of a Formula One race, held in Germany, and as Kaarina walked them both towards the end of the paddock, she chuckled to herself as she spotted her best friend glaring coldly at a man in a Red Bull suit that she knew to be Max Verstappen.

"Look at him, so smug." The Somalian girl rolled her eyes in disgust, seeing how smug and happy he seemed to be now that he had three world titles under his belt, one of which she thought should have been the eighth for Lewis Hamilton.

"You're not going to kill him by glaring at him, Nor." Kaarina smiled softly down at her best friend before arriving at their destination, pushing the wheelchair in to the garage where they would be watching the qualifying from.

"Hi boss."

Kevin Magnussen greeted as he walked up to the blonde woman, who was the daughter of the owner of the Formula One team that he drove for, which was Lotus.

It had formerly been Haas, but the Ahonen family had bought the team and renamed it after a car company that Kaarina's father had a lot of shares in.

"Hi Kevin." Kaarina smiled at the Danish driver who she found really nice, even though he always called her boss instead of using her name, scared that he would get fired.

"Hi Nora." Kevin waved to the Somalian girl who only rolled her eyes in response, with the man lifting his gaze back to the blonde in front of him who only mouthed a single word to him, summing up most of what her current mood was because of.

Max.

Kevin nodded his head up and down in response, a slight smile on his lips since whilst he had only met Nora once before, Kaarina had spoken about her plenty of times so he had managed to get quite a good understanding of her and her mood swings.

"Where do you think you'll end up on the grid?" Kaarina asked the man before her, seeing him thinking for a moment before giving her an honest answer.

"Maybe fifteenth."

"And what about Mick?"

"Maybe Sixteenth."

Kevin answered, seeing the young woman nodding her head in understanding. He knew to be honest with Kaarina about results and estimates, because she had a greater influence than he did with her father, and she would be able to get the upgrades needed for better results.

It was still their first year as team bosses, so he understood that he would not be fighting for podiums or race wins any time soon.

He was very lucky to have another chance at having a seat in Formula One, since Haas had dropped him last season before they were bought, and he was very grateful.

As was his team mate Mick Schumacher who had been dropped by Haas too a couple of years ago, with the German boy who was the son of Michael Schumacher very happy to have been given a chance to race once more.

They could have chosen other drivers who were known for their good results and yet, the two of them were chosen because the family had wanted to give them the success and the chance that they felt like they deserved.

They wanted to see Kevin and Mick finally have redemption and prove that Haas were wrong for dropping them both.

"Can I get out of this stupid thing now?"

Nora interrupted the thoughts of the Magnussen man as her voice broke through his ears, offering Kaarina a hand in getting the Aden woman safely out of the wheelchair and in to a seat that was much more comfy for her to sit in.

Maybe he should get her a cushion for her wheelchair.

The two blondes lifted Nora carefully, hearing her hiss in pain during a couple of occasions when her pain level spiked, until they got her comfortably sitting on a sofa, where she could watch the race without worry.

"Thank you." Nora muttered underneath her breath towards Kevin, though she released a yelp as her best friend elbowed her as if to signal to speak up. "I said thank you Kevin, for helping me."

"No worries, you know where I am if you need my help again!" Kevin waved before walking away from the duo, Kaarina sitting beside her best friend.

"I still want to kill Max."

"I know. Maybe at the next race."

"Really?"

"No."
