14 ~ The Uninvited guest
The ocean breathed, her surface rising and falling with rhythmic ease. The waves became her pulse, the echo of the souls were kept safe in her cradle of brine. Michael and Peter swam in the Darranoi Ocean. The ocean is their sister, a sister of watery depths and beauty. She is the soul of this world. She flows over mountains and to the depths of the trenches just the same, reaching around the Angelic in strong embrace.
They are swimming in the triangle of Mermaidia, the mermaid land. The triangle of Mermaidia is situated in between the Air land and Azera. Michael and Peter were assigned to bring the first mermaid they see because the blood of a mermaid is needed to create the sword of life.
Michael stopped his motion uneasily. He forcefully closed his eyes as if he's suffering from a huge pain.
"Michael, are you okay?" Peter asked, swimming closer to Michael.
The sea water around Michael began to bubble. Peter made space for the water bubbles to grow as he noticed the reason for it. Water Angels can communicate through water but for that both the sender and the receiver must be in a water resource. If an external party is in the communicative area the connection between the sender and the receiver is disturbed. As Peter swam away from Michael, he wondered who's trying to communicate with Michael.
Peter watched his brother struggling to receive the message. They've always done it since they were small kids and Michael was always very weak when it comes to receiving. After few minutes the water bubbles disappear and Michael opened his eyes, they were bright sky blue instead of his usual ocean blues, it usually happens after communicating but is recovered with time.
"What is it?" Peter asked.
"Joseph."
"What?" Peter chuckled with surprise. Joseph never had a close relationship with Michael and Peter. He has never ever communicated with any of them.
"The Capital is asking help. Blood drinkers have attacked the Capital. They have broken the prison and has let go the blood drinker prisoner."
"Is Joseph and mum safe?"
"They are hidden inside the bunker, mum..."
Peter cut him off. "Hidden? Why on Angelic are they hiding?"
"Elizabeth's orders."
Peter huffed. "What about mother?"
"Bad news. Her condition is terrible," Michael paused and spoke again. "Angel Earth is dead."

"Alexander and Alicia, I'm so sorry about your mother." Several painful tears came out of Ever's beautiful eyes. "I'm so sorry. We are in Azera right now. I'll make sure to come back to the Capital within the next two days. I know two days is a long time but we all have to cooperate. We are doing our best here. Make sure everyone take care of their assigned duty. There is a secret exit in the bunker, use it to get out of the Capital. We've not yet lost the Capital so don't surrender, fight until the very end also make sure to group and ensure the security of the other four Angel lands as well. Good luck!" Ever finished her message and looked down at the leaf on her palm in which her message was written in gold. She released the leaf into the air and whispered. "Go to Elizabeth." The leaf flew with the wind to the Capital.
Ever traveled her fingers through her hair and looked at the darkness around her. Cael was sitting next to her on the ground and Julian was leaned on to a tree.
"We have to go now," Ever said and stood up from the ground. She turned toward the forest and closed her eyes to concentrate. Angels can track paths and locations when their concentration is high. She opened her eyes, they were gold, golden than solid gold. Golden rays show her the path to the tunnels.
"Follow me," she ordered and walked into the forest. Cael and Julian followed Ever into the forest.
They passed tall ancient trees. Cael felt as if the trees were watching them; he hurried and made sure not to miss Ever and Julian. Ever was walking ahead, Julian and Cael was following her. Both male Angels were disappointed about Ever's strange, friendless behavior and both missed the happy Ever. As they walked deep into the forest all they saw were trees. Cael wondered if the island was animal free but then he remembered Julian mentioning about magical creatures. And then Cael saw a blue colored woman staring at them from the distant. Nerves began to dance inside Cael.
"Ev, there's woman. She's a blue," Cael whispered.
"Ignore them and follow me," Ever said, without stopping their journey to the temple of Azera.
Julian smiled lightly and whispered to Cael. "They are magical creatures."
"But," he paused and turned his head around to find the blue woman but she was gone. "But I thought you told me about magical animals not about a blue woman."
"We all are animals."
Cael nodded vaguely and continued to walk.
"Ev," Julian called Ever.
Ever ignored him and walked.
"Ev," he called again.
"What?" Ever yelled.
"I too saw a blue woman," Julian lied.
Cael looked at Julian and squinted. Julian winked at him and signaled that he's trying take her attention. Cael smirked.
"Ev, I too saw a blue woman," Julian repeated when there was no reply from Ever.
"So, what do you want me to do?" Ever yelled again.
Ever stopped in front of a huge black hole.
"Is this the tunnel?" Cael asked.
"Yes," Ever said and walked in. She raised her right hand and her palm lighted up with blue bright light.
The tunnel was like a snake skin turned inside out, slinking into the abyss of the hillside. Only the gentrified Angels forgot this tunnel, the priests and the magical creatures kept it alive in their tall tales. It lay unused under the Azera, not a footstep having echoed within the tiled walls for generations. A mile up is the Azera temple, their destination. The walls are a grey brick, or perhaps they are another hue, but down here that's the way they look.
Suddenly a light flicker, casting an ominous glow throughout the tunnel, was causing shivers to ripple across Julian's body. He dragged his hand across the wall, picking up dust and grime. Wind streams through the tunnel. All sign of life has vanished from the tunnels that were once so full of warmth. Ever peered as she stared at the mangled track beneath her feet. A heinous laugh echoed throughout the tunnel, rebounding off the crumpling walls. Ever walked further into the tunnel. Cael lighted up both his palms with fire. Julian took his sword out of the sheath.
There was a fire burning ahead of the three Angels. Ever noticed a familiar figure laid down on the ground, her legs divided.
"Erana," Ever called.
Another woman was there, she was trying to take something from Erana's divided legs.
"What is she doing?" Cael whispered to Julian.
"What are you doing?" Ever shouted and walked closer to Erana.
Erana's face was red and bathed with sweat. She was covered with a white blanket.
"What are you doing?" Ever asked again from the other woman.
"I'm taking the monster out," the woman answered.
"Monster?" Ever kneeled down to look but the woman pushed Ever.
Ever created a fire ball on her palm and the woman backed.
"Stay away," Ever ordered and looked into Erana's divided legs. There was a head of a child out of her vagina. A thunder stroked Ever.
"Cael, wake her up! She needs to push the child out!"
Cael and Julian ran to Erana and shook her head in order to wake her up but it didn't work. Ever send a wave of water from her fingers to Erana, the water hit Erana's face and she weakly opened her eyes.
"Erana, push the child!" Ever screamed.
Erana groaned in pain. Cael and Julian took hold of her hands and supported her. She gripped Julian and Cael and moved her hips frantically.
"Ever, what are you going to do?" Cael asked, his face burning with fear.
"Erana, push!" Ever screamed again, ignoring Cael's question.
"I can't!" Erana cried. Her grunts sounded more like groans.
"Erana, you have to!"
Erana gripped both Julian's and Cael's arms and pushed harder. With a cry the child came out. Ever gathered the baby into her arms, he took his first breath. Ever kissed his forehead. He had ocean blue eyes. She remembered what Chertoff told her. This is the child of Michael Angelo Water. He had the eyes of Michael and midnight black hair of Erana.
The other woman ran out of the tunnel, screaming. "The monster came out!"
"It's a boy," Ever said and handed the baby to Erana.
Erana kissed his forehead and gave him back to Ever. Ever stared at Erana, amused. "Don't you want the child?"
Erana shook her head and stood up. If this was a normal lady she'll never be able to look so strong after giving birth to a child but she wasn't an ordinary, she's blood drinker.
"What?" Cael asked, staring at Erana as if he's about to smash Erana.
"I can't, my lady!' she cried. "I have to go." She ran toward the darkness of the tunnel.
"Wait! Why are you running away?" Julian shouted at Erana but Erana disappeared into the darkness.
"Now what are we going to do with this?" Cael asked.
Ever looked at the baby. He wasn't crying anymore. He was staring at her. She smiled, he touched her nose with his tiny fingers.
"I think he likes you," Julian said.
"Sezraqh," she named him. He smiled loudly as if he understood that he's been given a name by the queen of Angelic.
"That's a weird name," Cael commented.
Ever stood up from the ground. "Let's go," she said and walked her way out of the tunnel.
"What about the baby?" Cael asked.
"Let's take him with us," Ever suggested.
"You're nuts," Julian said.
Ever smiled. "I was kidding. We can't take him to the Capital."
"Why?" Cael asked.
"He's an Angel with blood drinker blood. They'll kill him at the Capital."
"Angel blood? Ever who's child is this?" Cael asked, furious.
Ever smiled lightly and placed another kiss on the baby's forehead.
"Ever!" Cael half screamed, his nerves dancing with fear.
Both Julian and Cael had fear in their eyes. The baby has Angel blood mixed with blood drinker blood. They remembered what the other blood drinker woman told, "It's a monster!"
"Ever, it's a monster with skin," Cael protested.
Ever glared at Cael. "He's still a baby."
"Remember what the other blood drinker woman told, she said this is a 'monster'," Julian argued.
Ever ignored Julian. "When we are returning to the Capital, let's stop by Rizrana. We..."
Julian cut her off. "What are you going to do?"
"We'll ask Marina to adopt the child."
"I told you. You've turned nuts. Marina is a hunter. She's the only Angel in Rizrana, plus, Rizrana is the land of shape shifters. No one has ever seen Marina after the death of Jonathan," Julian said.
Before Ever could reply Cael spoke, "Who's Marina? Who's Jonathan?"
"Jonathan is my uncle, Marina is his wife," Julian replied.
"If the baby is going to be in Rizrana no one will ever get to know about him, he'll be safe," Ever said.
"What if he really turns into a monster?" Cael suggested.
"That's up to Marina."
"Ev, who's the father of the child?" Cael asked.
"That will remain as a secret."
"Why?" Cael argued.
"Somethings are better to be untold."
They reached the end of the tunnel. The end had become closed off by years of leaves piling up in the autumn winds, now decomposed to a rich soil and supporting much flora.
"Cael, remove your coat," Ever ordered.
He looked at Ever and then at Julian, who was staring at them, humourosly. "Why?" he asked while removing the coat.
Ever gave the baby to him and took his coat. She tore it into two and walked closer to Cael.
"Hold the baby on to your chest," Ever ordered and he obeyed. Ever tied the two piece coat around Cael and the baby, so the baby is tightly attached on to Cael's chest.
"What are you doing?" Ceal asked.
Ever finished tying the baby on Cael's chest and kissed the baby's cheek.
"Look," she said moving her gaze from Cael to Julian and Julian to Cael. "No matter what, one of us has to survive to take the flowers to the Capital."
"Three of us have to survive," Julian corrected Ever.
Ever gave a weak smile to Julian. "We have to get out of Azera by today."
"But how?" Cael asked.
"Aruda will come to take us," Ever said and created an air bolt and sent it through the soil which covered the exit of the tunnel.
