“Daniel how do you know Ember?” James asked. “Um… I don't!” Daniel said frantically as he tried to walked out but Jessica threw a sword at him almost hitting him. “Daniel if you don't tell me how you know Ember, I will kill you.” Jessica threatened. “Okay! Okay! Ember, is my ex-fiancee.” Daniel answered as Jessica slapped him. “WHAT THE HECK YOU IDIOT!!!” Jessica yelled. “Look I thought when we broke up she took it good but apparently she didn't.” Daniel explained as Jessica closed her eyes and sighed. “Does Vanessa know?” Jessica asked as Daniel shook his head. “IDIOT!!” Jessica yelled as she slapped him again.

With Vanessa

“Her code name is Ember?” I asked myself as I looked at the Intel and back at the rode to see that I was about to fall in lava but I stopped before I could. “I think I found Ember.” I mumbled. “So you're the little thing Daniel’s dating now huh?” Ember asked as she danced of top of the lava. “How do you know Daniel?” I asked harshly. “If you must know, I used to be Daniel’s fiancee.” Ember answered as I felt every single fiber in my body bubble up to the surface. “Vanessa… after what I've seen you go through after all these years I've never thought I be facing you. My best friend, my enemy, and now the one I must kill.” Ember said as she took off her sunglasses to reveal she had bright red eyes.

At the palace

“It may not look like it but Vanessa is an exceptional fire vessel.” Daniel started but Ayden cut him off. “But, will she be able to go all out against Ember?” Ayden asked as Daniel sighed. “I'll tell you this, in a year with being with that woman Vanessa is probably screwed.” Daniel said as he stared at the screen.

“Those two? Fire against Fire. This could get ugly.” Angel sighed. “Is Vanessa gonna be okay?” Kelly asked. “This is Vanessa we're talking about if anyone could beat Ember it’s Vanessa, Ember may have fiery eyes but Vanessa has a fiery heart.” Rebecca said as she walked inside holding her stomach. “Wait what color are her eyes!?” Jessica asked harshly. “Ruby red, why?” Rebecca asked. “That's Vanessa best friend from when Vanessa's mom ruled over Thorpeness.” Jessica answered as she remembered the time when Vanessa was little

Flash back

“But also as female warriors we possess a large amount of knowledge and culture. We must not just only be skilled in magic.” Jessica said to the class as they sat outside. “If you cannot sneak into enemy territory and pass for a normal women, then being a spy will not be possible.” Jessica explained as Little Vanessa and little Ember looked at Jessica “Today’s lesson will be in flower arrangement.” Jessica announced.

“Ember-chan, wait!” Vanessa yelled as she tripped running after Ember. “Geez… so clumsy.” Ember scoffed as Vanessa picked up a flower. “I'm really bad at this stuff… what about you?” Vanessa asked. “There's a trick to this” Ember answered as she giggled. “Really?” Vanessa asked. “What you do is find a main flower, and then add a flower that compliments it.” Ember explained. “Ohhhh”  

“You can't have the flower clash. For example, look.” Ember continued as she pointed to two flowers. “If the cosmos is the main, then.. that fujibakama that you picked is the extra.” Ember explained as she pointed to the said flowers. “Like the Sakura flower in the springtime, the cosmos is the most beautiful flower in autumn…and in flower language it means harmony, it goes perfectly, with most other autumn flowers.” Ember explained. “Look? Does this to with me as nice as with the cosmos? Don't I look cute?” Ember asked as she put the flowers in her hair. “Y-yeah.” Vanessa stuttered. “What was with that stuttered?” Ember asked. “What stutter?” Vanessa said frantically.

“You look like you're having fun today. Ms. Tomato hair.” Annie scolded as her minions stood beside her. “You're trying to make yourself look better recently. Who do you think you are!?” Emily yelled in Vanessa’s face as Ember got mad and threw 4 flowers into Emily’s mouth. “Emily-chan!” one of her minion yelled. “Oh sorry, I must have mistaken that opening for a vase.” Ember laughed as Vanessa laughed too. “Ember!!” Emily growled. “It may be weak but the flowers is poisonous. You better spit it out.” Ember warned them. “Jessica!!!” Emily yelled as she ran towards Jessica. “The poison is only in the root though.” Ember winked as Vanessa giggled.

Ember-chan incredible… she knows everything… she's so fashionable and cute… and that fire dagger ability just showed her fire magic is amazing… compared to me I'm just… Vanessa thought. “If Ember-chan is a cosmos… then I'm probably a fujibakama…” Vanessa said sadly, Ember was shocked for a second. “What are you talking about?” Ember asked. “If you ask me, you aren't even a flower… you're just a bud.” Ember mocked as Vanessa felt hurt but she didn't want to show it. “Haha, yeah.” Vanessa said shyly.

Flashback over (with Vanessa)

“Right now, I have no intention of fighting over Daniel with you.” I said as Ember glared at me. “What was that?!!” Ember yelled. “You and Daniel don't go together anyways. And I'm completely stronger than you right now, I don't even need to be concerned with you.” I explained. “Vanessa… who do you think you're talking to? Don't get ahead of yourself, cry-baby Vanessa!” Ember shot back as my eyes widen. That's when everything came back to me. Everything!

At the palace.

“Umm... hey! Vanessa is going too far… Ember has really scary eyes.” James stated. “Vanessa isn't the type of person to brag about her strength, she just doesn't want Ember to not take her seriously or show her mercy.” Daniel explained.

With Vanessa

“I'm just a bud eh?”

Flashback

“Hey Ember-chan.” Vanessa said getting Ember’s attention. “What?” Ember asked. “Why did you… give me this red ribbon?” Vanessa asked shyly as she pointed to the red ribbon tied into a bow on her head. “That's because, I thought it would be a waste if you ended as a bud.” Ember answered smiling. “A flower is meaningless unless it blooms, right?” Ember asked as Vanessa nodded. “And it could grow into… a flower more beautiful than the cosmos.” Ember smiled as Vanessa was about to cry.

“Let’s hurry up and get the flowers, Vanessa.” Ember orders switching the topic. “Yeah.” Vanessa agreed as she saw Vanessa wiping her eyes. “Hey, Vanessa what's wrong?” Ember asked. “Oh.. when I fell earlier I got sand in my eye.” Vanessa answered.

Flashback over

Ember… I have always believed in those words you told me… I always hoped that I would remember you but I never could until now… I wanted to be like the burgundy haired girl from my childhood, that was my goal. Thanks to that, I am here now. That's why. Ember, I want this to be an all out fight. Unless I really surpass you, it's meaningless.

“I won't lose to you, Ember.” I vowed. “Same here, Vanessa… I won't lose to you no matter what.” Ember said as I took off the red ribbon off my wrist and dropped in on the floor. “I'm not the little girl that follows you around, until I beat you I have no right of wearing that ribbon.” I explained as Ember nodded approvingly as she ran towards me.

No one's POV

Vanessa did some hand signals as two cops of her, including her rushed towards Ember. “This isn't the final exam back in Thorpeness. You think you can beat me with a text book spell like that!” Ember yelled. If I look closely enough, I can figure out which is the real one. Ember thought. All my magic to my feet. Explode off the ground! Vanessa thought as she got closer to Ember kicking her in the face, not giving Ember enough time to block. “If you think I'm the same cry-baby Vanessa then you be in for a world of hurt. Get serious Ember!!” Vanessa yelled. “I'm glad you said that. As you wish, here I come.” Ember said as Vanessa and Ember lunged at each other.
