The week after the games felt like it was all a hallucination, like it never really happened, but it did. Dad got us an apartment again, and we spent a few days moving in, with the help of the Ducks. The night of the championship game, Adam and I went to the roof and talked while we watched the stars. We talked about how we would go forward.

"I want to take you out on a date when we get back home." Adam says, and I turn my head to look at him.

"Is this not a date?" I ask, and he turns to look at me.

"This is like a pre-date." He replies, "I'm meaning, going out for dinner and then going to a movie or something like that. Maybe something more active when the doctor clears you for activities."

"Well then, I can't wait." I say, grabbing his hand, and he intertwines our fingers.

He took me out the day after we landed. It was everything I wanted it to be. He took me out again after that, and asked me to be his girlfriend, which I said yes. I had Connie over that night, i told her every detail.

I sit at the island, looking over the letter I received in the mail.

I'm in disbelief. I set the letter down and look at my leg. School doesn't start for another 2 months, so I have plenty of time to train and strengthen myself before. The doorknob rattles and dad walks in.

"Hey." He says, as he sets his stuff on the counter and walks past me.

"I got a letter, from Eden Hall Academy, offering me, and the ducks, a full scholarship." I say, and dad turns around.

"I went to Eden Hall, I had a lot of fun there, it really helped me get on the path to law school." He says, and grabs a glass and fills it with water. He takes a sip before he continues. "So, what are you thinking? Do you want to go?"

"I think I do, but I want to talk to some of the other ones first before I make my decision." I say, handing him the letter for him to read.

I walk back to my room, and check my clock. It's 4:14pm, and I'm supposed to go out with Adam, Connie and Guy at 5, so I better start getting ready. I showered this morning, so I went into my bathroom and started to get ready. My hair had a nice curl already so I would just leave it be. I wash my face and apply some mascara. I brush my teeth and rinse with mouthwash before applying lipgloss. I wash my hands and leave the bathroom and apply some hand lotion. I walk over to my closet and choose an outfit, Jean shorts, a white muscle shirt with a short sleeve dark flannel. Adam and Guy wouldn't tell me and Connie what we were doing or where we were going, but it's summer so I'll just prepare to be outside.

4:50 rolls around and I hear a knock at the door. I get up and open the door to see Adam.

"You ready to go?" He asks, reaching out his hand.

"Yes, but where exactly are we going?" I ask back, as I grab his hand and intertwine our fingers.

"That is for me to know, and you to find out soon." He laughs and I just give him a face, which makes him laugh a little harder.

We meet up with Guy and Connie at the corner and walk toward the drive in.

"Are we seeing a movie?" Connie asks, and the boys look at each other.

"In a sense, yes." Guy replies, and he kisses Connie quickly on the cheek. After about 5 more minutes of walking we reach the drive in and the lead us to two trucks parked closely together.

"Ta-da!" Adam says when I can see everything. There's a blanket, picnic and pillows set up in the box of the truck.

"Aww." I say, and I give Adam a quick kiss before sitting on the tailgate and swinging myself around into the box. He climbs in beside me, and Guy and Connie get into the truck beside us.

Adam carefully takes the plates and silverware out of the basket and sets one of each in front of both of us. He then pulls out (your 3 favorite snacks), and lays them out. We begin eating and talking, and afterwards, we lays back and get ready for the movie.

"So I got a letter today." Adam starts, and I cut him off.

"I did too, Eden Hall." He looks at me, like he's trying to figure out what I'm gonna do. "I told dad that I wanted to see who else was going before I made my decision." I take a breath before continuing, "are you? Accepting the offer?"

"My parents are making me go, but I would love to have you there with me." He says, as he ticks a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I wonder what it'll be like." I say, laying my head back down on his chest, "very preppy I assume."

"Yeah, it has a lot of sports offered and it's great for getting into Ivy's." Adam states, and he continues talking but he sort of fades out as I go into my thoughts.

'Whatever Eden Hall will turn out to be like, we would be there together, with and for each other. We would get through anything that could come our way while attending. We would stick together, me and Adam, and the ducks. Nothing would happen to us. Right?'
