Chapter 12 ~ Wtf Z
Craig POV:
We made it to the border today.
Z had walked up into a auto shop, nicely, with a smile on her face, talked to the man politely...
Then she shot him with a taser.
And did I forget to mention she robbed him?
She smiled like she just did the best thing in the world, pulling up to us in a shiny convertible.
Tyler laughed to himself, and then punched her shoulder, playfully.
She then tased him, too, and he'd been out for about thirty minutes after I dragged him into the back seat.
I talked to Z during that time, and I grew really close to her.
She told me that when she was little, her father was an alcoholic, and he used to beat her and her brother and sister.
Her mom almost put her baby sister into a mental institution, and she had never trusted her mother again.
Her sister was now loose after she ran away with her boyfriend and her baby brother, and she's been trying to look for them ever since.
Her sister was called a witch due to being trained previously to hurt people, and she'd slowly went crazy from the mobs, she couldn't go anywhere. One day a teenage boy had came into our house with her. They then ran away weeks later, right when her mother was found dead.
"The thing is," Z told me.
"The police marked it as a suicide. That was the last time I've seen my baby brother or sister. I don't believe that was a suicide... I believe she had something to do with it." she told me.
I nodded.
"It sounds suspicious."
She sighed.
"I was left alone, no house, and I escaped from foster care. I was dying when Tanner found me. I'd been attacked by another gang... The Phoenixs.
That's when I was put into training... At fifteen years old. It's been four years." she sighed.
We were about to reach the border then.
"You're still a teenager?" I asked.
She nodded.
"I am when it comes to how many years I've lived. But to me, like a video game, life shouldn't organize you based on what level you're on..."
She smiled and looked at me.
"It should be based on how much experience you have."
"You've been through a lot of shit." I said.
She smiled.
"Well, it made me stronger. Last person who called me a little girl, well, let's just say that he isn't alive anymore, okay?"
I laughed.
"I'm not kidding."
It was silent for a moment.
"Where the fuck are we?" I heard Tyler's voice finally pipe in, and I crawled to the backseat to kiss him.
"Eck. Guys, listen, please wait until we get to Canada to have sex," Z said.
"I just got this car."
"You stole this car." Tyler corrected.
"Well, I like it, okay? I don't want c-"
Z said.
"OKAY, OKAY!" I laughed, stopping her from saying the last few words.
"We are here." Z said.
"We're at the border."
She drove us up to the little offices.
"Hello, ma'am." a lady said.
"Aye. What's up?" Z spoke.
I laughed and Tyler snorted in the back.
"Uhh, not much, I guess!" the woman was caught off guard.
"May I see your passports? Licenses?" she asked.
"Well, uh, thing is, we never traveled... So we don't have passports..." she stumbled.
"Uh huh. Okay. Well, may I see your license?" she asked.
Z looked at her.
Shit.
"Well, ma'am. Thing is. I don't have one." she smiled and laughed nervously.
"Then aren't you not supposed to drive?" the lady asked.
"Well... Ma'am..." she laughed.
"I have a license. But really, the only thing it does is... Well, FUCKING DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE MY ASS AWAY!!!"
Z hit the gas, and Tyler and I were slammed back, and she sped through all the police cars, rolling down her window, screaming, and flipping then off.
I held onto my seat as she reached 110, and Tyler started laughing like a maniac.
"SHIT! WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST LET ME DRIVE?!" I asked.
"BECAUSE I LOVE DOING THINGS THAT ARE ILLEGAL!!" Z screamed back to us, and I drew in my last breath as I heard sirens behind us.
She smiled.
"NOW, WHEN WE GET TO THE CLIFF, YOU TWO JUMP, DO YOU HEAR ME?!" she smiled.
"WHAT?!" I asked.
"YOU JUMP!" Tyler said.
"WHAT?! ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?! WE'LL DIE!" I yelled.
"OH WELL, BABY, IT'LL BE ONE HELL OF A TIME!" Z said.
Shit. We were getting trapped.
She pulled up to the cliff.
"GO GO GO GO!!!" she yelled.
It was a split second and she shoved us out the car, speeding off.
"TYLER!" I said, looking down.
The sirens grew louder and louder, getting closer and closer.
It went by fast.
I never imagined anything like this.
We were innocent!
We didn't deserve this!
It would change our lives.
We ran and ran until we reached the peak of the cliff.
"Tyler!" I yelled.
He breathed.
"What are we going to do?" I asked.
He looked into my eyes.
Tyler grabbed my hand.
"Trust me." he said.
"Tyler, this is dangerous." I told him.
"Just do it." he said.
"We should just turn ourselves in!" I screamed over the loud noise.
"It's too late now!" he answered.
"Wildcat! Tyler! We can't do this!" I yelled.
"We have to, Mini!"
"Will we even live through this??" I asked, wiping tears from my cheeks.
"There's only one way to find out."
he whispered in my ear.
"But.. "
"Jump."
I was silent.
"Trust me."
I swallowed my terror.
I breathed one more time.
I closed my eyes,
And I jumped.
I screamed and prepared for death.
Tyler let go of my hand and we finally fell all the way down.
Was I dead now?
Did I splatter all over the ground?
It seemed silent for a moment, and then I heard something like this:
"YYYYYEEEEEEEEEYEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH YYYYYYEEEEE MATE THAT WAS GODDAMN AWESOME!!!"
Z said, donuts at the bottom of the cliff.
"I hurt my back." Tyler said, stretching a little as Z pulled off in the convertible.
"What the hell just happened?" I asked.
"Well, y'all fell from the cliff right into the soft ass seats of my convertible from when I sped down here to be a hero and catch you in time."
She smiled and I glared at her.
"We could have died! Why did you make us jump?!"
"Just trying to make the best of the situation." she laughed and sped off.
Tyler kissed my lips as she hit 120.
