Nephew of my Godfather

Harry

"Welcome to your new home," Sirius announced, opening the door to Grimmauld Place.

Percy walked in, looking apprehensively at the bold 12 on the door. He was soon followed by the two men who claimed to be his cousins and our new neighbors. Immediately, Mrs. Black began screaming loudly about mud-bloods and other stuff.

A flick of my godfather's hand later, the curtains were closed and her voice muffled. I turned to help Percy with his stuff, but soon remember he only had two bags. Sirius' nephew glanced curiously around his new home.

His eyes were sharp as he took in everything. Percy didn't even blink when the picture of Sirius' mother started screaming or when Sirius used magic. Suspiciously, neither did his family.

"Harry, can you show him to his room?" Sirius asked me, talking silently with me through his eyes.

He wanted to talk to Percy's cousins some more. They were telling us some interesting things before Percy got here, about Percy. Apparently his mom wasn't the only one he lost. My feelings went out to him when I heard that.

Losing people you love wasn't easy. When Cedric died, it took over a year for me to settle with his passing and we weren't even close. I can't imagine losing more than one person at the same time.

I smiled and nodded at Sirius, bounding up the stairs towards the guest room. When I reached it, I paused. I didn't hear anyone following me. Frowning, I turned around to go back down the stairs and fetch my new roommate, when I ran face first into a body.

I stumbled backwards, straightening my glasses on my face. To my disappointment, the other person didn't even budge as I failed in walking. When I looked up, I found vibrant sea green eyes staring back at me amusedly. I gawked at him.

"I didn't even hear you!" I exclaimed.

He just shrugged nonchalantly,"It's a habit. Is this where I'll be staying?"

He walked past me into the recently cleaned room. Setting his stuff down softly on the bed, he cautiously walked around the room. He tapped and tugged on the windows, making sure they were secure and poked around the room.

Once he found that nothing would jump out at him, I saw his shoulders relax. He started unpacking his clothes and placing them inside the closet and drawers. He turned back to me, and I saw surprise cross his face.

"I didn't think you'd still be here." He stated,"I've been told my... process takes awhile."

I shrugged embarrassed, the clock told me at least half an hour passed. I had been watching him the whole time. That was sort of creepy. I berated myself in my head.

"It wasn't that long, do you want to get something to eat? It was a long flight." I quickly offered a distraction so he'd ignore my odd behavior.

He smiled like he knew what I was doing, but gave a small nod. I led the way back down the stairs and into the kitchen. When I pushed open the door, I was met with Percy's two cousin's sitting down with their backs facing me.

Immediately, I could sense the somber tension of the room. My godfathers face expressed sorrow which only increased with pity when Percy entered behind me. I could feel Percy stiffen behind me as he read the mood of the room.

His cousins heads swiveled around to face him. Percy glared at them, anger emanating from his eyes. The two people just sat there with no expression on their faces. I cleared my throat, drawing everyone's attention.

"Sirius, I thought it'd be a good idea to get Percy and his cousins some food after their long journey." I spoke, addressing my godfather, trying to convey my silent message.

Sirius stood up, clapping his hands together nervously," That's a great idea, Harry! What would you all like to eat?"

We both waited anxiously for an answer from one of the three. Percy still stood in the doorway, this time his face was void of any emotion. He seemed to be having a silent conversation with the two.

Lucas was staring at Percy stoically, the only emotion I detected was in his eyes. Sympathy was displayed, but a slight anger as well. Fred had an eyebrow raised and looked to be more relaxed than either of the other two.

Suddenly, Fred turned around, facing Sirius. His whole demeanor changed. A bright smile spread across his lips and his blue eyes twinkled in amusement. He folded his hands on the table and leaned forward.

"My cousins and I would be happy with anything you provide, Sirius." Fred replied, winking to lighten the mood.

"How about some pot roast?" Sirius suggested, catching on to Fred's intentions.

"That'd be great." Percy cut in, walking swiftly past the duo, but not before playfully pushing his family's heads aside.

They both protested, but didn't counter his actions. Percy followed my godfather to the cooking center, so I sat down with his cousins. They both stared at me inquisitively, tilting their heads to the side like puppies.

"So... why'd you decide to move to England?" I asked them, trying to make small talk.

"Well, as you might have noticed, our little cousin is going a hard time, and we felt that it'd be safer for him and us, to join him in this awesome country." Fred explained, ducking as Percy threw a spatula at him.

I jumped in surprise as the wooden stick flew past my head. When I turned towards the kitchen, my jaw dropped as I realized the spatulas accuracy was thrown without even looking. This is going to be an awesome couple years with him.

"Also, Dumbledore invited us and Percy into the Order, asking us to teach at Hogwarts. Well, not Percy, but Fred and I." Lucas input helpfully.

Sirius spun around faster than I could follow. It took me a few seconds, but once I processed his words, I felt anger and jealously rise up inside me. They all were invited into the Order?

Before today, we've never even heard of them! Even Fred and George weren't allowed because they were "too young." Percy was only 17, and recently turned that I've heard. I was the chosen one, and I'm not allowed to even hear what they talk about. This was not fair!

"Do you even know any magic?" I spat out bitterly.

"Harry!" Sirius scolded, but I rolled my eyes.

This was so unfair. Why did they get to join? They're from America, and as far as I know, there's no magical folk over there. Percy was only connected to the wizardly world because of his runaway mother. How did that qualify his place?

"Actually, we do," Fred retorted, his happy facade gone.

His blue eyes were swirling in anger. Lucas had this cold expression on his face, and both men's body language showed that they did not like being challenged.

"Harry," Percy interrupted from the kitchen, seeming unbothered by my attitude,"Just because we're from America doesn't mean we didn't learn. Hogwarts isn't the only school out there and England isn't the only country to hold powerful people."

What did he mean by powerful? Why didn't he just say wizards, or magic? Of course I knew Hogwarts wasn't the only school, the Triwizard tournament definitely proved that to me. But how could they learn in America? According to Umbridge and the ministry of magic, all people with magic were under English law.

"But we don't even know you. You could be a murderer for all we know!" I protested loudly.

"HARRY!" Sirius shouted loudly, anger clearly in his voice.

The whole room froze after that. Percy had stopped cooking and stood still as a statue, gripping the pan he was holding. Sirius was looking appalled at my actions, his mouth was open in shock. The two cousins of Percy's sat stiffly in their chairs.

It was like we all forgot to breath, just waiting for Percy's reaction to my outburst. His hand was gripping the handle of the pan so tight, his knuckles were white. His skin lost its color, and his back was to me, but I saw how tense his shoulders had become.

His jaw was clenched tightly, and he still hadn't moved yet. No one dared to make a sound. Suddenly, the pan dropped onto the stove, making a loud clanging noise. My heart jumped in my chest, regret for my actions flooded my brain, but it was too late to take it back.

Percy spun around to face us. His eyes were ablaze in silent fury, and his fists were clenched so tight, the muscles in his forearms rose. His face was absolutely blank, and his jaw was snapped shut. The only emotion that was prominent was in his eyes.

They were storming, like a hurricane was trapped inside, a category way over 5. I could practically see the waves overturning the strongest buildings and throwing the ground into the sky. Percy closed his eyes and took a dramatically long breath.

He slowly unclenched his hands, and turned hesitantly back to the stove. He reached for the handle only to hiss and pull back. The skin was red from the small burn, the handle had grown too hot to touch.

Silently, Percy turned towards Fred, who got up and walked over to the injured boy. Fred led him out of the room, leaving Sirius, Lucas, and I alone. My energy had drained out of me and I leaned back against the chair suddenly exhausted.

"What were you thinking?!" Sirius reprimanded.

I leaned back in shock,"I—I, I didn't mean—"

I was cut off by Lucas who glared at me in cold fury. His teeth were bared and his sky blue eyes were shaded as dark as storm clouds. His hands were in tight fists and he was leaning forwards in anger.

"You weren't," he rebuked,"Now because of you, he's probably going to go into some sort of flashback."

"I'm sorry," I tried to apologize.

All I got in response was a sneer.

"Don't tell me," Lucas spat,"You need to keep your jealousy in check, Potter. The only reason we're in the Order is because Dumbledore is an old friend of ours and knows the hardships we all, especially Percy, have been through."

Until the last part, I had been listening with a clear head, but as soon as the last few words reached my brain, my dumb jealousy sprung up again. How dare they, ok sure Percy lost a few people, but at least he got to experience some time with his parents!

"Yeah?" I snorted arrogantly,"Like what?"

Lucas scowled at me,"Try hell..."

Tell me what you think...
