Chapter 2: Boxing Club Knockout
(Your POV)
"She's not showing up, maybe we should use hostages."
"(Y/N) would prefer it if everyone didn't."
Mako and I were standing in the bleachers, and the bleachers were packed with students facing the boxing ring, where Fukuroda was waiting patiently. Satsuki, along with the rest of the elite four, had their own VIP section. I looked at my watch, which was just a sundial strapped to my wrist, and Ryuko should be here any moment. "Say, why do you talk like that, (Y/N)?" Mako asked, getting my attention away from the sundial. "You always say your name, but you never say 'I' or 'me' or anything like that, most people find it annoying."
"Yeah, I'm already annoyed with you, and the way you talk isn't helping." Fukuroda pointed out, and I responded by pulling my spoon out of my pocket, and Fukuroda shuddered.
"(Y/N) does it so (Y/N) doesn't forget (Y/N)'s name." I answered, ready to kill a child, but it's not his time yet, so I can't do anything. Oh well, his time will come in the blink of an eye, even if he dies to old age.
"What kind of idiot forgets his own name?" Fukuroda asked, crossing his arms, which was hard thanks to his boxing gloves.
"The same idiot who never has people to call his name." I answered, and while this problem did bother me at first, I eventually got used to it. "By the way, (Y/N) knows two of your agents are trying to make (Y/N) and Mako hostages Satsuki, they're behind (Y/N) and Mako right now. Recall them before (Y/N) decided to throw them at Satsuki, please."
"Fair enough." Satsuki snapped her fingers, and the two agents got out from the bleachers. Despite being the villain here, Satsuki appeared to be pretty reasonable if push comes to shove.
"So...anyone wanna watch (Y/N) juggle something?" I suggested, and nobody looked interested, I'll have them know juggling is very VERY hard, and I'm very proud of the fact I learned it.
"Sorry I'm late." I heard Ryuko's voice, but instead, I saw someone wearing a large cloak that covered most of their body like my own cloak, except I'm wandering the world, this guy is an idiot. I thought that until the hood was taken off to reveal none other than Ryuko, and for some reason, she took off the rest of the cloak, and everyone gasped. Ryuko's outfit was skimpy and hard to describe, and while I did know something was waiting for her, I didn't think it would be exhibitionist armor.
"Ryuko, do you have any frustrations you'd like to tell (Y/N) and the audience about?" I asked while covering Mako's eyes, and Ryuko turned her head to glare at me, and I could see she was blushing. "Ryuko looks like an exhibitionist."
"Yeah...I'm honestly having second thoughts about this fight." Fukuroda rubbed the back of his head with his boxing glove while looking away. "I don't really like fighting exhibitionists."
"Ryuko, change out of that as soon as possible, that is a violation of school rules." Satsuki pinched the bridge of her nose in an annoyed manner. "Also it's a violation of basic human decency, but school rules before all."
"Look, it's a gift from my father, so let's just hurry up and fight already." I can tell from Ryuko's posture that she was embarrassed about wearing that, not that I blame her, it's an exhibitionist outfit afterall.
"Looks like Mr.Matoi had some questionable expectations of his daughter." I sweatdropped, and Ryuko responded to this snarky comment by throwing a pebble at my head, causing blood to gush out. "Nice shot, that hurt!"
"Well, I did make a promise, and it'd be pretty cowardly to back out now." Fukuroda steeled his resolve and got into a fight stance. "If you want, that (Y/N) guy can help."
"I don't need his help, I can handle you myself." Ryuko pointed out, finally just noticing I'm right behind her. "When did you get up here?"
"(Y/N) moves very fast." I answered, and Ryuko just accepted this as how things are.
I was made the official referee since I was already down here, and the giant guy, named Gamagori, handed me a bell with a tiny hammer. "Ladies and Gentleman!" I decided to go the whole nine yards for this referee thing. "In the first corner we have the tiny boxing champ, he may be small but he hits like a giant, give it up for Fukuroda!" I gestured to Fukuroda's corner, where he was warming up. "In the other corner we have the...best exhibitionist in the world, and the only one who can kick ass, we have Ryuko!" I pointed at Ryuko, who was in her corner, confused.
"I would really prefer it if you gave me a better introduction." Ryuko sweatdropped at my nonsense, but I wasn't having it.
"Less talk, more fistings!" I dinged the bell using the tiny hammer that was in my hand. "FIGHT!"
I barely got out of the way in time as Ryuko and Fukuroda dashed towards each other, with the boxing glove and scissor blade at the ready. When they first met, Fukuroda would have beat Ryuko, but now with that outfit, Ryuko was able to hold her own. Scratch that, she was doing more than holding her own, she was surpassing him. Ryuko ducked underneath Fukuroda's first punch with ease to slash at Fukuroda with the blunt edge of her sword. Fukuroda was knocked back but he managed to block the swing using his other arm. Fukuroda started eyeing his opponent, but what he was able to do was limited because he was stopped by a nosebleed. Ah yes, a comical anime trope that should have no place in the real world was occurring right in front of me. To be honest, I would be having a nosebleed too, but my body is pretty cold, so nosebleeds don't occur that often for me. Ryuko responded to this like a tsundere and used the blunt side of her succor blade to strike Fukuroda in the face so hard it left a red mark. Ryuko jumped back to avoid Fukuroda slamming his fist onto the ground, followed by Fukuroda attempting to jab at her. Ryuko did manage to block the swing, but the punch managed to knock away her sword. Ryuko was put on the defensive after this, and dodged swing after swing from Fukuroda. Fukuroda's right fist enlarged to the point where it was a boxing glove shaped wrecking ball with spikes. Fukuroda punched at Ryuko, and I almost intervened with the almighty spoon, but Ryuko managed to catch the spikes and hold the boxing glove in place. Another thing worth noting is that the spikes were massive, and had gaps between them, making them easy to dodge unless you're a giant like Gamagori. Ryuko managed to not only hold the boxing glove in place, but also use the momentum to swing Fukuroda over her head and slam his small body onto the ground on the other side of her. In response to this, I slid over to him on my knees with a whistle in my mouth.
"ONE...!" I slammed my hand in the ground. "TWO...THREE...FOUR....FIVE...!" I slammed my hand in the ground beside Fukuroda's head every time I said a number. "SIXSEVENEIGHTNINETEN! HE'S OUT, RYUKO WINS!" I grabbed Ryuko's hand and held it into the air.
"Wasn't the countdown at the end a little too fast?" Ryuko asked in a slightly amazed tone before shaking her head to focus on the task at hand. "Also, I'm not done."
Fukuroda stood back up in a daze, and unable to accept his defeat, he let his pride control his actions. Fukuroda enlarged his fist once again, and I told Ryuko about it while handing her the scissor blade that she uses. In an instant Ryuko tore through the steel boxing glove like it was paper. I smirked because I expected no less from this girl, and her finishing move was none other than a slash that effectively destroyed all of Fukuroda's clothing. The shreds of the clothes were sucked into a vent-like object on Ryuko's back, and I was genuinely curious as to what happened to the clothes.
"That's impossible!" Gamagori shouted in disbelief. "The two Star uniform lost to a pair of scissors."
"No, that's not it..." Satsuki was examining Ryuko's new armor, looks like I need to say something stupid to draw her attention away from it. "So you're Isshin Matoi's daughter?"
"You know my father?" Ryuko sounded confident, when all of a sudden, Ryuko began slouching, which is bad for your posture kids! "Ugh...what's happening?"
"Ryuko looks pale, Ryuko is losing blood." I checked her pulse while grabbing her wrist, and I was correct, given how much strength was left in her body, it wouldn't be unreasonable to say she'd collapse anywhere between 15.9283462 seconds to 16.1028339 seconds. "It's best if (Y/N) and Ryuko make a tactical withdrawal."
"Eh? I can't do that." Ryuko was a stubborn girl, even when it came to her own health, so I decided to prove a point, and just poked Ryuko with my finger, causing her to almost fall over until I caught her. "But...I'm finally going to get answers about who my father's killer is."
"There's no vengeance in death." I picked Ryuko up bridal style, causing her to try and fight me to set her down, but she was too tired. "Ryuko did well, get some rest." I then looked up at Satsuki. "Excuse (Y/N), but could Satsuki give Ryuko and (Y/N) answers later, Ryuko is tired."
"I wasn't going to tell her in the first place, she's only managed to defeat one of many of the clubs, and I full heartedly believe she is not worthy to hear the answers she seeks." Satsuki pointed out, and I was about to throw my spoon at her. "For now at least..."
"Satsuki is a tsundere?" I asked with my usual smile, and the president glared at me in response. "(Y/N) is joking, (Y/N), Ryuko, and Mako will see everyone later. Now remember..." I placed a single finger to my lips. "I will tear this system down, for I am the voice of the dead."
With that, I disappeared in a rainbow colored mist, bringing Mako and Ryuko with me as I seemingly teleported away, when in reality, I was moving really really fast. On my way out, I grabbed Mako by the collar of her shirt. I kept on moving fast until we were close to Mako's place, then I started slowing down before stopping all together. I looked around and noticed some steps, allowing me to place Mako and Ryuko down on it. Mako was perfectly fine, other than some light confusion since we may or may not have broken the sound barrier. "What was that (Y/N)?!" Mako was shocked by this display of power. "We were like 'FWOOOOSH'! How did you do that?! Do you have a goku uniform?"
"No, (Y/N) just did track a couple years back." I answered, it would be worth mentioning that this is my concept of a 'couple' years back, so it could be lifetimes. I then focused on Ryuko's uniform, and the eye-like thing was looking at me. "Pardon (Y/N), could you get off Ryuko? It's bad for Ryuko." I knew the outfit was trying to say something, but I couldn't hear anything. "(Y/N) can't hear you, but (Y/N) can tell you don't want to get off because then Ryuko will nude if you do, and to that, cover Ryuko with my cloak."
"Eh, your cloak is your key defining character trait!" Mako pointed out, and I would have guessed my main character trait is that I talk in the third person. "Don't give it up!"
"(Y/N) usually just wears it to keep the sun off (Y/N), and besides, it's super old." I commented while taking off my cloak, allowing Mako to see my shirt. I then wrapped Ryuko in it like a loose blanket, and the seemingly alive armor got off her, it appeared to care deeply for Ryuko, similar to a father figure. "(Y/N) should also do a transfusion, since Ryuko appears to have lost a lot of blood."
"Why don't we head back to my place, my father has some tools we can use."
"Good idea, Mako."
(Timeskip, brought to you by (Y/N) and Mako carrying Ryuko while onlookers thought they murdered someone.)
I was sitting cross legged next to a futon while Ryuko lied on the said futon, passed out under my cloak. I had a needle in my arm with a tube that led to a needle in Ryuko's arm. In other words, I was giving my blood to Ryuko. Mr.Mankanshoku was quite surprised that I didn't grow fatigued at all, given how frail I looked. I was patiently waiting for Ryuko to wake up, the uniform was hanging on a hanger on the side of the room, and the Mankanshoku family was eating Miso Soup for dinner. Given how it smelled, I assumed Mrs.Mankanshoku put everything she could find into the Miso Soup. I looked at Ryuko, who had bandages underneath her yellow pajamas. She was a headstrong girl, and independent, something tells me she doesn't need me around for long. You know, no one can truly be independent. Everyone needs someone, and it doesn't make them weak for needing someone for something. Whether that something is a shoulder to cry on or an arm to pick you back up at your lowest point. You can pick yourself up, surely, but it takes too much time to do, and humans normally don't live forever. As I examined her, Ryuko began stirring awake. Ryuko rubbed her eyes and sat up, then she noticed the needle in her arm.
"Hey Ryuko, is Ryuko feeling okay?" I asked with a gentle smile, and Ryuko looked somewhat surprised to see me here.
"Hey (Y/N), what happened?" Ryuko examined the bandages all over her body. "Did I win that fight? Did I get my answers? Who changed me? Speak normally please."
"Ryuko won against Fukuroda, (Y/N) carried you to Mako's home, Ryuko didn't get her answers, and Mako changed Ryuko." I suddenly realized I talked the same way I always did. "(Y/N)'s sorry, (Y/N) can only talk normally in short sentences."
"It's okay, it doesn't really annoy me, just makes it a bit hard to understand you sometimes." Ryuko appeared to understand I had trouble talking normally, but I don't think she knows how long I've talked like this. "Still, I am mad that I didn't get any answers."
"Ryuko only defeated one person, Satsuki wouldn't tell Ryuko the answers unless Ryuko proves her worth." I thought outloud, and Ryuko appeared to agree. "Should (Y/N) handle half of the clubs? (Y/N) is very strong." I lifted my sleeve and flexed my arm in a comical manner, and there wasn't much muscle there, but it did get a light chuckle out of Ryuko, I thought her laugh was pretty. "Why is Ryuko laughing? (Y/N) is serious." Despite what I said, I had a small smile on my face."It's rude to insult your elders."
"Elder?' You look my age!" Ryuko smiled, and I could tell she needed to smile, since her father was murdered, she was obsessed with finding the killer, but doing things like that will only burn her out. "By the way, why did you start helping me? You just suddenly appeared and said 'I'm (Y/N) (L/N) the (Y/N) Wanderer (Y/N)."
"Well excuse (Y/N) for being proud of his name, it's a very fine name!" I proudly smiled while rolling my sleeves back down, and Ryuko handed me back my cloak, which she was using as a blanket up until now. "As for why I'm here...I'm just here for the ride I guess."
"That doesn't help much." Ryuko suddenly noticed the smell of Mrs.Mankanshoku's cooking, and Ryuko visibly gagged a bit on the smell. "What is that smell?"
"That's the smell of miso soup." I answered, and Ryuko didn't believe me. "Ryuko doesn't believe (Y/N), maybe (Y/N) should go get some to show Ryuko." I put my cloak back on, and opened the door. "Mankanshoku family! Ryuko's hungry. Can Ryuko have some soup?"
"Here you go!" Mako's little brother handed me a bowl of soup along with the utensils from the door, and I honestly forgot his name, he's a minor character anyways.
"Thank you." I thanked the boy and closed the door, then I handed the bowl and utensils to Ryuko. "There you go, now eat up, Ryuko needs her strength."
"Um...no, how about you eat it?" Ryuko tried rejecting my offer, but I didn't need to eat, and Ryuko did, so I pushed the bowl towards her.
"(Y/N) doesn't need to eat, Ryuko needs to eat." I ordered, and then I took out the needles in both our arms, and to prevent blood from getting out, I put a bandaid on Ryuko's arm.
"You're human, so you need to eat too." Ryuko insisted, but I can tell she didn't want to eat this either, leaving us at an impasse. "Okay, how about this, we both eat it. Deal?"
"Okay." With that, I pulled my spoon out of my pocket and Ryuko got her utensils ready. Both Ryuko and I were staring at the mysterious substance in the bowl with hesitation, and the two of us reluctantly scooped a bit of it with our respective spoons. It was like touching burnt pudding, and in total sync, we ate the substance.
Needless to say Ryuko got sicker.
(A/N: So...how many of you actually like original stories? Cause I have an original story that I'm repolishing to be easier to keep track of, and I want people to actually read it. Like yes I want to write it, but given how horribly it was doing, I took it down for the sake of my self esteem. I'm removing all the mistakes on it to see if it'll do better.
