A bit of time has passed. Huening Kai was very much interested in avoiding conversation of the institute, but kept in touch with Yeonjun. Regardless of his feelings on Yeonjun, they were friends. Would that ever really change ? 

It was almost like an instinct overcame Kai in the time he was now spending at home. He very much was into crafting. Specifically he was super into wand making. In-Su & Jinhwan had no magical power so they couldn't relate to Kai' new hobby. 

Kai didn't mind the cinders & ash that covered him daily as he got into his crafting. Jinhwan had offered him a break by taking Kai to where his parents were buried. "알고 싶지 않으시겠지만, 최소한 그들을 존중해 주셔야 해요. 그들은 당신의 부모님입니다, 카이아." (I know you don't want to know, but the least you can do is respect them. They are your parents, Kai ah.) Huening Kai had a legacy sitting on his shoulders. One he wasn't entirely aware of. Kia sighed, "Why do you assume I don't respect them, hyung ?" 

Kai isn't vengeful or unforgiving. He most certainly wasn't disrespectful without reason. Regardless of everything that has happened since he left for the institute, Kai still had decent morals. Why should he praise people who literally nearly killed one of their peers on purpose ? He can't just ignore Jeongsan & his trauma which involves his parents. 

Jinhwan shoved his hands in his pockets, a cold crisp breeze wafting through the air. "당신을 의심하지 않는 이유를 대본 적이 있나요? 먼저, 당신은 연구소에 갑니다. 우리가 경고했는데도! 그 다음에 갑자기 집에 와서 연구소와 관련된 이야기를 하는 것을 피하게 됩니다. 카이아, 당신은 그것이 매우 이상하다고 생각하지 않나요?" (Have you ever gave a reason to not doubt you ? First, you go to the institute... Even though we warned you ! Next, you suddenly come home and you avoid talking about anything pertaining to the institute. Do you not find that extremely odd, Kai ah ?) 

Kai couldn't dignify any of that with an honest answer. They just weren't seeing eye to eye on this.  When Kai neared his parents' graves he fell to his knees, tears flowing from his eyes. Tears he has never shed over them before. What was causing him to react this way ? 

Upon looking at Rupert Huening' grave he sees a hidden message. "Hyung, can you see that ? There is a message." Jinhwan thought he was playing around. Which he fully believed Kai wasn't taking anything seriously at the moment. "A hidden message ? Are you delusional ? I don't see anything, Kai ah." Kai looked again thinking his mind was playing tricks on him. 

This was not the case. There was a message. A message only Huening Kai could see. It was simple, but it made complete sense to Huening Kai. The message read as follows: 우리는 한번 망가진 것을 복구합니다. 이 유산은 이제 다시 한 번 여러분과 함께 시작합니다. 휴닝의 삶도 마찬가지입니다. (We restore things once broken. This legacy now begins with you once more. As is the life of a Huening.) 

Kai now felt like he had just opened his eyes for the first time. He was enlightened now. He ignored Jinhwan on their way home. He was determined to follow through on the legacy that was given to him by birthright. He was a Huening. Now was the time to start acting like one. 

He packed his crafting tools & made his way to the Monzara, Institute Of The Arcane. Just being back here brought so many different conflicting emotions to Kai. This is where he first made friends... The first place outside of home that he felt he truly belonged...

Keeping a low profile he sneaked onto the grounds of the institute. Luckily, Kai had arrived just a few moments after Yeonjun had left from checking on Soobin' body. Once he made sure he was fully alone, Kai got crafting. It was natural to him.

With a single glance, he successfully replicated Soobin' wand. The very wand that was shattered to pieces when Beomgyu had done the Convergence Curse. Kai opened the glass seal where Soobin' body rested, and he moved the shattered wand shards from around his body. It still hurt a lot to see Soobin in such a state. "Forgive me, hyung... This is to help you...", he whispered as he used the newly replicated wand. 

A single swish of the wand & suddenly breath came from Soobin. Breath. Something Beomgyu assumed he had taken the very last of. He was breathing. Soon slowly Soobin' eyes opened. Kai had managed to restore the soul of Soobin with his body... 

Soobin sat up with a warm smile. The smiles said he had no regrets & had no grievances he wished revenge for. Soobin looked as if he completely understood why things happened the way they had. His voice was trusting & warm when he greeted Huening Kai. "왜 울어요? 전 괜찮아요, 카이아." (Why are you crying ? I am fine, Kai ah.)

Kai smiled happily, wiping his tears he hadn't realized began to fall down his face. He had done it. He had brought Soobin back in one piece. "또 만났네요, 형." (We meet again, hyung.)
