L's is only 16, shortly after Mello joined Wammys house, L ran from Wammys and left the country ending up in Japan. It was late at night and L was walking down a very populated area in Tokyo, L started to fell very overwhelmed being crowded with so many people around him. L soon felt someone tap him on his shoulder.

"*hu* Who are you" L spoke in Japanese which seemed to made this kid upset, the kid started to walking away, L realized that the kid was alone
"Hey were are your parents?"
The kid turned around. "I'm sorry I don't understand what your saying, just like everyone around me. I just wanted to give you this back"

The kid was speaking in English, he held up his hand which was holding a wallet, L put his hand on his back pocket, his wallet was gone.
"I'm sorry-" He looked down at the ID in his hand"-L Lawliet"
L was shocked, that wallet is the only thing that has is real name in it, an old ID of his.

L started to speak in English "Thank you little boy, What is your name?"
"My name? Oh, um....I'm not sure actually. But I know I'm this old" The boy holds out six fingers.

L noticed the kid was soaking wet, it was November so it was quite cold, freezing cold to be more accurate. L looked down at the kid, he had no shoes, ripped up leggings and an over-sized lose jacket, slightly sliding off the kids shoulders.

L asked again " So were are your parents?"
"Parents?" The kid looked confused by L's words "What are 'parents'?"

L looked more confused by the kids words.
(he most have amnesia or something) L thought to himself.
"Look kid it's freezing cold out here come with me, I have a hotel room not far from here, we can get you dried off and warmed up before you catch hypothermia, ok"

The kid nodded and followed L to his hotel room. Once they got to the hotel and entered the room L grabbed one his other shirts and underwear and give them to the kid, he then took off the kids clothes and dressed him, as L dressed him he asked him a few question.

"So kid, would you mind if I call you Matt, I need something to call you?"
The kid nodded yes. "I like the name Matt"
"So what is the last thing you remember?"
"Well....I remember waking up in a bathtub, in my clothes were all wet, I had these goggles they were over my eyes and nobody else was in this weird room, and when I left the room everyone I talked to was speaking something I couldn't understand, tell I approached you, thanks for talking actual words by the ways."

Matt smiled and sat next to L who was calling him towards him with his hand. Matt laid in L's lap, Matt's body shackling still clearly cold and slightly wet from his hair.
(He most be scared not knowing where he is, or how he got here, and not only that but his clearly not Japanese, his either American or English based off what he told me, plus the information I've gather his parents tried to killed him by drowning him in a bathtub, and that must be what triggered his amnesia) L thought to himself trying to figure Matt out.

L and Matt talked for a little while, but soon Matt fell asleep in L's lap, though L didn't realize tell he asked a question and Matt didn't replay. L didn't minded but just stayed in one place to try and not wake Matt. Soon L went to sleep himself or at least he tried to sleep.

In the morning L got up without waking up Matt from his slumber, L walked over to the hotel phone and called up room service for breakfast. L graded his personal phone and called Watari. As L paced the room with his thumb to lip.

"Hello L!" Watari was happy to hear L's voice due to the fact his been trying to reach him for days now.
"Yes Watari, I have a problem!?"
"What is it?"
"I found a kid who doesn't remember...well almost everything, Watari this kid is an orphan and he needs help, please  Watari tell me what to do, I don't know what to do."

L started to cry just by the thought of this kid, Matt being all alone, forever.

"L just stay clam okay. First send me your location so I can find you, and why don't you do a few little test on him to see how intelligence he is and if he pass's the test we can take him into Wammys house okay. So just keep clam and keep him safe, I have to go L and I'll be there, lets say by tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? Okay, I'm in Tokyo Japan [Hotel address]"

Watari hung up. L turned around to meet eyes with Matt who seemed scared, he had little tires forming in his eyes, L dropped down to his knees and held out his arms, Matt walked closer and put his face into L's shoulder and began to cry.

"oh Matt whats wrong?"
"I had a dream...it was horrible..."
"It's okay it was just a dream, its all over now, don't worry."
"But it wasn't just a dream, it's felt like it memory."

L didn't know how to response to what Matt just said, and took a moment to gather his thoughts.
"Tell me, what happened your dream?"
"Well I saw a beautiful woman but I couldn't see her eyes, we were walking up a bunch of steps to a flat and when she unlocked the door there was a man in the room, the woman dropped the bags she was holding as if the man scared her. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, he made her walk over to the bed and he-"

L put is hand over Matt's mouth knowing the next words that he was about to say
(they most be his memories of his parents, and it most have traumatized him so the memories hunt him in his dreams, this poor child) L thought to himself holding onto Matt's shoulders.

L and Matt heard a loud knock on there room door, L knows full well that it wasn't room service, but who was it? L noticed Matt running for the window.
"Matt what are doing!!?"
"There going to try to take me again!!"
"Matt what are you talking about, explain now!"
"I took someone else wallet before yours and they've been after me ever since!"
(This kid stole a wallet from a cop!!) L's eye's went wide.
"This is the police open up!"
"Matt listen to me carefully okay, we are going out that window and jumping down to the fire escape and run, and we won't tell anyone! Got it!"
"Yes!"
"Go go go!! go go go go!!"

As the police pushed open the door the two were already gone. As the two ran they stopped by a cafe, it wasn't really crowed. L thought this was a good time to do a few test on Matt to see if he would be good enough to go to Wammys house, and three hours later L was surprised by how smart Matt actually was. 

Later that day a helicopter landed close by the cafe and took L and Matt back to England, Matt fell asleep on L's lap on the ride there. Once they arrived L explained everything to Matt, Matt seemed pretty chilled with the whole situation. When Matt entered Wammys the first person he meet was Mello, the two began to speak, Matt seemed a little nervous tell one moment L will never forget, the moment when Mello give a piece of his chocolate to Matt.

This moment made L smile like his never smiled before. L slightly began to cry and he turned to Watari who was waiting with open arms, L wrapped his arms around Watari, who held L tell he stopped crying.
