"You dance in strange conditions with strangers of the night"
Lia walked towards the man that was dressed in the attire that servants were given when it was a special occasion, a red jacket lined with gold and black trousers and shoes, he looked rather smart. She stood in front of Ash a drink in her hand as she swayed. "I think you should dance with me."
"I think you've had a bit too much to drink." His fingers clasped onto the top of the glass, pulling it from her hand.
"Oh, now look, you've taken the only bit of fun that this event is providing me with away from me. Do you think I enjoy being in a room full of snobs? And ancient men who are trying to talk me into marriage?"
He was just about to answer her, but she raised a finger in front of him. "Don't answer that. Honestly the children here are much more entertaining than the adults. You know what, I'm done with this place, I can't stand being here any longer. Escort me to my room."
"As you wish, ma'am." He set the glass down. The two of them walked towards the doors of the ballroom. Ash held the door open for her and she walked out.
While walking through the house Lia stopped in a room near the ballroom, Ash was a few steps behind her. "Is everything alright?"
She turned on her heel to face the White haired butler and extended her arms, she grabbed his hands and pulled him closer. "Dance with me, Ash." The music coming from the other room was muffled but they could both still hear it. She held onto one of his hands, interlocking their fingers. Her other hand rested on his shoulder. His free hand held her side before moving down to set just above her hip.
The two of them moved to the sound of the music.
As Lia danced with Ash she bumped into his chest on numerous occasions as she wasn't exactly steady on her feet. As they both danced their laughter filled the room, their gaze stayed on each other, smiles had formed on their faces. The music faded, and they stopped with it. Still looking at each other. Still smiling.
"Clearly, you're the better dancer out of us both, Ash."
"Well I suppose your current state is an excuse for you."
"I suppose so..." She kept her eyes on Ash before placing a hand on the side of his face, her thumb running along his cheek. Having heels on worked wonders at that moment, because she was tall enough to just lean upwards a little and bring their lips together.
Crumble down around us, we don't need to have unstable walls to keep us apart.
