Muchacho
"He was my favourite friend of all"
The winter months closed it, the cold weather brought along the snow. Something that everyone loved.
The noblewoman awoke as Ash had opened the curtains, letting in the blinding natural light. He greeted her with a smile before he turned to face out of the window. "Such a beautiful scene has been laid out before us, the snow came in heavy last night, it is as if the ground has been covered in a white blanket."
"Really, it was snowing last night?" She sat up, smoothed down her blonde hair and moved towards the window that the white haired man stood in front of. "Oh,you have to escort me while Pipin walks, he absolutely adores the snow."
She skipped breakfast for this. She quickly got changed and met Ash at the main entrance. The white Pom happily bounced around, running in circles around the two. To her surprise he wore not his normal butlers attire but more ordinary clothing, it was dark but overall brought out his features more, she liked it. She put on her coat that he held out and they were off.
The dog ran ahead, blending in with the surroundings, everything matched his fur colour, he was bound to disappear occasionally. But that didn't matter since he was easy to follow since small paw prints could be seen in the newly fallen snow. Lia and Ash walked alongside each other, arm linked.
The pair talked while they walked, different topics being passed around.
"It's hard to tell if snow is actually falling into your hair, it's all the same colour."
He smiled, and a small laugh passed his lips. "Well I can confirm that it is since I can feel that my hair is slightly damp."
It was then that a yelp of agony filled the air. Blue eyes met Amethyst before the both looked in the direction as to where the dog had wondered off to.
"Please, please tell me that wasn't Pipin..."
Breaking out into a jog Lia held up the front of her dress, it slowed her down little so that meant she was a bit behind the angel. Panic now set in between them both as they mentally prepared themselves for what they would be running towards. So many ideas ran through their minds. It was horrific.
Small droplets followed by two pools of blood stained the once white surface. Under the what should have been thick white blanket sets of hunting equipment had been set out in the anti-hunting woodland that surrounded the manor, set out for an unfortunate animal like a fox to walk into, not a dog. Right front paw and left rear paw had been trapped in the sharp metal clamps, the young white dog was suffering from a lot of blood loss and the cold conditions worked with the blood loss to send the young white dogs body into shock. Weak whines left the venerable animal.
She fell to her knees beside the dog, tears streaming down her face as Ash pried opens the traps, using his inhuman strength that an angel would hold. Once free she gently pulled Pipin into her arms, sobbing into the white and now crimson fur.
Pipin's head fell. Body limp. Last breath taken.
Ash knelt beside her, arm around her shoulder as he now comforted the hysterical woman. She buried her face into the crook of his neck, tears falling from her eyes.
She had lost her favourite friend.
I'm broken, walls shattered around me, please, keep me together.
