"There's always another secret."

Jungkook POV

The similarity between two people can be emotional or physical, maybe even other aspects my mind has yet to comprehend. My loneliness seems to be in ways similar to that of Taehyung and whatever has him acting so strangely, the need to push people away and make himself lonely while I'm constantly searching for someone to pull me up.

The similarity between this girl, Nari, and Taehyung was undeniable. They had the same nose and deep brown eyes, soft features that make beautiful siblings. Noticing a few of the pictures in his living room this morning also helped.

"Who's this?" Nari asked, her eyes on me.

Taehyung opened his mouth but nothing came out, resembling a fish almost. I rolled my eyes at his lack of a response and bowed my head just enough, "My names Jungkook."

She nodded and stuck her head up a little higher, everything about her screamed maturity and class. I suddenly realized I should keep my mouth shut so nothing dumb came flying out.

"Taehyung," his sister started, "We have a lot to do today. You're suppose to be changed to go shopping for-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Taehyung cut her off, earning raised eyebrows and an incredulous stare. I'm guessing Nari doesn't enjoy being interrupted, especially rudely.

They shared a look and it was something that made me uncomfortable, whatever silent sibling argument they were having made me want to leave. "Uh, I'm just going to change..." I trailed off glancing at Taehyung who was already looking at me. His eyes were intense, I swallowed hard at the gaze and wished I hadn't, seeing the slight smile that appeared.

Taehyung nodded, "Go ahead, I'll get ready after you."

It was my turn to not know what to say, only nodding and slipping past him to his room. Not before Nari spoke up again, her intentions of being quiet and subtle not so successful, "Is that your shirt he has on?"

"A lot of people own black shirts Nari."

I couldn't help but smile a little, he wasn't confirming that I was wearing it but he also didn't deny it. That's good enough for me.

He caught my eye when I turned to shut his bedroom door, a quick glimpse between the crack in the frame and a subtle wink from him that made me stomach spin. Since when did I become a little school girl that gets all giggly and smiley when a boy winks at him.

I realized I had no clothes with me, except my excessively ripped shorts from last night along with a drink stained white shirt. There was no way I was about to walk out of here looking like that, especially in front of his sister who looks like her closest only consists of pastels and blazers.

A soft knock was at the door and Taehyung's light brown locks poked through, "You can just find anything and wear it, it gives me an excuse to go to your apartment some other day and collect." he grinned before shutting the door again and leaving me to rummage.

"Okay." I said quietly to myself. It still felt weird to look through his things, that's always been something I couldn't do anywhere even though it's apparently common for people to snoop. Another reason why I barely invite anyone but Jimin over to my own place.

The closet was a small walk in, average for an apartment this size and nothing too over the top. I turned on the light and noticed the organized nature to his shirts, they seemed separated into groups by color and occasion. Mostly casual, which was my aim for the moment.

In the end I kept the black t-shirt on, only changing the small sleeping shorts for a pair of cuffed white jeans. I'm not sure how he keeps them clean when most of his jeans were piled on the closet floor amongst the several pairs of boots and slippers. My fingers twitched and I nibbled on the inside of my bottom lip. It would only take second, I thought to myself.

Then I was crouched down, picking up the discarded pieces of clothing and placing them in the laundry bin. The fact that it was placed a foot away and this guy was too lazy to kick his jeans into them was beyond me.

"You look good on your knees."

His voice scared me, but I recognized it from the first word spoken.

"Don't do that." I sighed, dropping the rest of his clothes in the bin and feeling Taehyungs hands take their place.

He smiled with a soft chuckle, giving my hand a squeeze as he pulled me up to stand, "Don't do what? Be in my own closest?" Humor was laced throughout his words and I shook my head a bit, biting back a smile and avoiding his intense stare and slightly tilted head.

"I wouldn't stop you there," I started, the slight narrowing of his eyes and subtle growth of a smirk revealed his curiousness to where I'd continue, and I gladly did, "You seem pretty comfortable in the closest."

"Don't be an asshole, lets have a good day?" Taehyung said, but the small smile that remained revealed he wasn't truly annoyed by my remark.

That must be it. The reason he's so confident around me when we're alone but no where else, especially if others are around. Anyone with an opinion seems to frighten him.

"I'm going to wait out there." I said, leaving the older boy to change and to go be alone with his sister. Something I wasn't sure intimidated me or not, and based on her quick move to speak and first words I'm sure it would be a weird exchange.

"So Jungkook," she said, Nari I think her name was. I noticed her eyes flicker down to the shirt I was wearing, even though it could easily pass for my own due to the simplicity. "How do you know my brother?"

I nibbled on the inside of my bottom lip, keeping myself busy by grabbing my boots and working to tug them on, "Through a mutual friend of ours."

"Jimin?" she pressed. I nodded.

Nari sighed and I could hear the gentle tap of her nails on the kitchen counter top. My eyes flickered to the noise as she continues, the perfectly polished fingers along with a light sparkle. I opened my mouth to speak but my mind didn't catch up, only to be cut off by Taehyung reentering, "You ready?" he asked.

"I am." Nari said grabbing her purse off the counter.

Taehyung shook his head and brushed past her to the fridge, he grabbed two granola bars and a cup of yogurt before handing it over to me, "Eat."

I nodded and took the cool cup, the strawberries on the side appealing to my taste as I took the small spoon and peeled off the top, "I'm going to help him with something," Taehyung started, "Then I'll give you a call."

She opened her mouth to protest but stopped, I missed the look her older brother must have sent her as his back faced me, "Tomorrow."

And with that, he faced me once again, keys in hand and lips smiling small. "Let's go Kook."

It was then that I knew I was stuck. My body following his to the door and then out to his car without much objection. There was just the simple want to be around him and have him around myself that I didn't bother  to consider much else, this is how small details are lost. Nari must have gone soon after and hopefully locked the door behind herself, even though there wasn't much hope there due to the quick change of plans.

"She seems nice." I said once we were on the road.

Taehyung had one hand on the wheel and the other was holding the granola bar. I kept eating away at the yogurt and wished for a moment it tasted like raspberries. There was a dry chuckle from beside me and I looked over at the older boy, "This taste like sawdust and chocolate chips." he complained about the snack.

It was a hint not to mention it again. After reading numerous books and contemplating your own stories, it's easy to pick up on these subtle messages, even when they may be unintentional. I didn't ask about his sister again during the ride, only speaking up to tell him when to turn to get to my apartment.

"So what are we doing?" he asked. The click of the car locking was quiet.

I pushed open the door to my apartment building and tossed the yogurt cup into the trash can by the door, keeping the small spoon. "I need you to be my knight."

Taehyung rose an eyebrow and laughed lightly, "Um okay, but how exactly?"

I could feel them there. I could hear them and form the sentences in my head but they just couldn't make it past my lips. Trapped in my voice box like hostages to the monsters.

Instead of forcing it, I just shrugged, busying myself with the unlocked door and pushing it open to walk into my dark apartment with a confused Taehyung drifting slowing behind.
