Reader is Wallace's granddaughter. Wallace's wife (reader's grandma) and daughter (reader's mom) died in a car crash reader was just 6 and her dad was so devastated that he commited suicide the very next day. Reader didn't have any other family left except Wallace so he decided to take her in. But she hasn't spoken a word since the day of the funeral and she is very shy. Ever since Wallace took reader to live with him and Gromit, she's been attatched to him and always followed him around everywhere so Wallace gave her the nickname "duckling". Even after almost 11 years, reader still never speaks but she still makes noises and laughs but she still refuses to speak, she also helps Wallace with his inventions along with Gromit. Reader and Gromit also work together to take care of Wallace. And all 3 of them work as humane rabbit exterminators. For some reason, reader doesn't like being called by her real name Y/N, she only goes by Zero (the nickname her father gave her) and Duckling (the nickname that Wallace gave her). Reader also has been dying her hair purple ever since she was 4. Reader also used to be afraid of Gromit and usually hid from him, but she slowly got used to him and now reader and Gromit are best friends and even share a room together.
