Chapter 27
---
The raging fire danced in her eyes, shining brighter each and every second that passed "Oh what a fool I've become" She groaned as the twigs crackled and popped in front of her, her eyes stared boringly at the flames dancing around as it was well past midnight and she was still up, not finding it in herself to walk into the tent where Loki slept and disturb him after the incident that happened only hours ago.
"What a world we live in, full of cruelty and lies" She stood up immediately after hearing that, eyes scanning for anything as it was all pitch black aside from the dying fire "Who are you?" She questioned to nothing or no one in particular "Question is, who are you?" The voice whispered ominously, and the truth be told, she was baffled by his question, mouth opening and closing with no words seeming to come out, having no explanation or answer to give the talking spirit.
"I'm Enchessa, princess of-" "Vanaheim, that much is not so very clear" "What do you mean..." "What do I mean? " "I-" She had no words, bewildered with how the strange voice knew how to leave her speechless with questions she could've easily answered "Who are you" She asked again, this time more serious than the last repeat "Find me and I just might tell you" The voice snickered as it's echoey voice faded into an eerie silence "No! Please! Please-I need to know-" She silenced herself when she realised that she was truely by herself, no one beside her as another realisation hit...
Where was she now...
---
"Hello-Wait, why am I saying hello?" She looked at the tree as if it was supposed to answer her "Tell me?-Oh what am I saying" She waved her hand off before turning around only to meet back with more forest, where had she gone, and since when had she let her legs wander off on their own?
"Loki?" She whispered softly, staring at nothing particular as she wandered around in search of their camp "Loki if this was game, please tell me that it's about to end" Her voice quivered with a slight demanding edge, praying that this was a game or some strange nightmare that she would be waking up from any second.
Her body shook for a quick second as goosebumps grew all around her skin in a hurry, warning her that something was about to happen and that she should hurry and find some sort of shelter from a strange and bad feeling that was now eating at her insides "Hurry Enchessa, you're running out of time" It was the voice again, it was a warning and she ignored it as nothing "Please!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as she tried her hardest to push her legs into the fastest sprint she had ever run in her entire existence "LOKI!".
Something reached out for her.
Black.
Dangerous...
A killer...
---
"Enchessa?" She sat up heaving with sweat as she worriedly looked around and noticed Loki kneeling beside her in a confused state "Where have you wandered off to last night?" She ignored him for the second and rushed to stand and look around "L-last night, Loki" She stuttered as all she wanted to do was break down and cry, this was causing so much stress "Enchessa, breathe-" "It's not that easy" She whimpered as he pulled her into his tight grip, holding her hostage in his warm embrace as all he had to do was comfort her in a way he knew for a fact would calm her down.
"Loki-" "Shh, it's alright" "No, no it's not. You've no idea what happened" She cried softly, pale and frozen fingers gripping onto his leather armor for dear life as she felt like everything and everyone around her indeed hated her entire being with all their might, putting trouble and pain in her path every chance they got.
"Would you like to explain?" "The voice, it was here, it was here talking to me-" "The voice that you-" She interrupted him with a vigorous nodding of her head "A-and, and, it brought me out here without me realising and it told me-" She shook her head while tears fell from her eyes in heavy streams, warm drops sliding down as the river turned cold within seconds of meeting the new world.
"The voice told you?" Enchessa stayed silent as she let Loki hold her while internally the pain and fear was growing inside of her, for something so small such as a voice to put this much stress on her was lighting up an idea that she could possibly be of no use out in the actual world...That must be why fate decided to keep her locked up in a castle. But then why would her fate lead her to Loki who she knows to love more than anything, the powerful emotion that sent her abliss.
"The voice told me to find it, and it-nevermind" Shook her head, not finding it in herself to give him information that she herself didn't know the answer to "I-" "How are we going to do this" Harshly wiping her tears away Enchessa slowly pulled herself out of the gutter and fixed her uniform, pulling the armor tighter around the curved skin.
"We need a plan first, Loki" "Hm" He mumbled something to himself as he looked away and sighed from boredom "Enchessa, please relax. This isn't going to end well-" "Don't you think I know that already, since the first time when they attacked Asgard, I've been on edge. I'm unable to sleep at night, I'm terrified of everything" She huffed while also turning her back to him, slender legs taking multiple steps forward
"Then why haven't you told me? If you were going through so much, what am here for then. I'm supposed to be the one who loves you, protects you, gives you comfort and trust-But I don't think you get what the meaning of love is" That somehow ticked something in her that angered the living day lights out of her "And you do? You know the true meaning I suppose?" She snapped while turning back towards him and stalking him as she stood confidently in front of the giant.
"I supposed you know all there is to know about love, huh?!" "You know very well that I meant nothing to that" "Then why do I feel like this" She whimpered to herself, hands pulling at her hair as she backed away and leaning back against a towering oak trump, Loki's heart breaking as he watched her sit down and huff, She was afraid, he understood that...But she needed to learn to accept help from others who only seek to aid her in return, she was messed up and...Lost.
"I'm here to help you Enchessa, help you hold the burden you just don't seem to want to let go of. Let me help".
"Just don't leave me, Please" Loki nodded while crouching down to her level and rushing to pull her into his embrace she so wanted to be in.
"I won't ever, just always be by my side, trust my love".
"I always will".
---
"Is everything set?" She turned around at Loki who looked okay and seemed to have everything under control "Yes, my love. The horses are set and everyone we know has been informed. They're not expecting us to be back, at least, not for sometime" "Well, the more luck we have is better, I wish to be back in my chambers with you, reading my book as you make me laugh" "Oh shush, you meant to imply, the sooner we're back the better for me".
The both of them chuckled at the soft remark of Loki being himself even after the strange occurances of madness "You know me so well darling" He mused softly with a smile, a knowing one as he stared off into the distance wondering why this all had happened so soon? Was something greater about to begin? Was something important going to fall for them for protection? Safety? Love?
"We must go Loki, I sense something this way" She motioned with her head as she gently pulled on the reigns for Shanty to pick up speed and jog off into the direction she too sensed some strange magic. "You tell me where we're going, I'll follow your lead" Smiling at the charming God behind her, she laughed while rushing off with him following closely behind her.
---
"Enchessa?!" Loki screamed as fog surrounded every inch of the forest, blocking his view from everything as he lost Enchessa well over an hour ago, he was panicking and struggled to remain composed "Enchessa?!" He screamed once again at the top of lungs as he fought the urge to blow everything around him, up into flames.
"Please be okay-" He pulled Aljana back as his horse walked in small circle with Loki hurriedly looked for any sign to which direction she could've possibly went "You better be safe" He whispered to himself, his eyes wistfully searching for his love, his meaning for life.
"I need you to be"

[I'm having a lot of writers block for this book, as I'm continuing the editing process by creating an entirely different book, that I'll be changing and adding bits to this one, and it's taking me some time as I still have a lot of other books to finish and write, so bear with me :)
