Chapter 21
---Few weeks Later...I'm feeling so lazy right now.
"Enchessa!" She could hear the yelling from Loki as she hid in the stables, seeking some alone time as the people wouldn't leave her alone. And by people she meant Sif and Frigga, if she wasn't with one of them she was with the other and she was stressing herself about everything and everyone.
And it's not like she didn't want to be around Loki or anyone else, she did, but she wanted some time to herself "oh God, please go away" she pleaded softly as she shut her eyes tightly while squishing herself into the corner of Aljana's stall "I know you're here, Enchessa, just save me the trouble and come out" he laughed as she heard the crunching of hay from his foot steps coming closer to where she sat.
"Enchessa" He sang as he stood directing in front of her, only the wooden gate standing in between them as she tried her hardest to quiet down her breathing, as it was loud in her ears "darling, I know you're here, just come out" Aljana jumped on his hind legs as Loki took a few steps back from shock "calm down...calm down" his brow was raised, he was beyond confused as it is, and now his beloved horse almost kicked him in the face, for no reason.
Her breathing increased when she heard him finally open the stall gates "Oh please go away, oh please go away" she pleaded with her eyes closed as she leaned against the hay bales "Oh heavens where are you" Loki mumbled with his hands on his hips, eyes scanning the stall, as everything looked suspicious. To the way his horse was acting, the stall keeper being strange, the way the hay bales were arranged in an odd formation, the dress fabric visible behind the-"What in the heavens" Loki mumbled as he smirked when he noticed the familiar violet dress.
"Oh where could she be" he spoke aloud as he neared closer to her hiding spot "Where could she-BE!" He shouted as she jumped up from fright, holding her hand to her heaving chest "You scared me" she mumbled while scooting away from him. "What's wrong darling, you seem...distant" he pondered with a hand on his chin as he stared at her with a strange curiosity "I just wanted to be alone, or just be away from place life or people, even if it's just for a little while" she rested the side of her head on her knees as he kneeled down in front of her, gently lifting her chin as he stared softly in her grey eyes "You need only ask, darling" he smiled as he held her hand.
---
"Are you sure about this, Loki?" Frigga asks, feeling concerned as she saw the two engaged couple packing their things "I am sure mother, you have nothing to worry about" "It's not me that's worrying" she eyed her son seriously "You know nothing will happen" "I know, my son, but I still worry-" "I have no reason to do anything wrong, I assure you, I...we, we will be fine" he looked away, as he began to walk in the opposite direction from which he came. His mother trailing close behind.
He quickened his pace when he realized his mother was walking with him "Loki, slow down please" but he only sped up before concentrating a spell in his mind, then in the span of a second he vanished.
Loki had reappeared in his room, only to see beloved wife sitting in the corner of the room on one of the the armchairs, fast asleep with soft snores leaving her slightly parted lips. His eyes scanned her face as her ebony locks curled softly over her shoulders "Fast asleep already" he murmured while walking closer to her quietly.
Sitting across from her he leaned forward and tucked away a small strand of her hair, delicately placing it behind her shoulder while tilting his head to the side, his cool breath softly fanning her face while he admired her facial features "Beautiful" he mumbled while a smile stretched on his cold lips, causing his eyes to shine with adoration for the young women before him.
He smiled once more before standing up to leave and call the maids to finish up packing their belongings for the long trip ahead of them. Making his way to the throne room, he thought about...Him. Yes him. The one that you could say ruined his life, the so-called king of Asgard, the murderer of billions and yet, he still lives after all he has done. But what was Loki to say, he himself has killed. What's his word against the king?
---
"Are you sure about this?" She asked him while he helped her up on his horse "Of course, darling" he mused while adjusting the grip on the saddle of his horse "We could have that 'alone time' you've been wanting" "Really?" She asked with a wide smile, she hadn't been told where they were going, only told to wake up-finding out in the next moment that they were leaving for one of the many cabins located around the city.
"Is this safe?" "Darling, stop with the questions-all shall be answered when we arrive" she nodded her head with a sigh, not finding joy in this game he was playing. "Boring old man" she mumbled "What was that?" "Nothing" she lied with a smile "Darling, you can't lie to me, for I am the God of-" "The God Of Lies I know, I know" she rolled her eyes playfully while giving her reins a quick tug.
"You answer back to your God" he asked in disbelief, a joking glint in his eyes to which she had caught on to "Am I?, oh goodness what a horrible mistake I've made" She whipped her reins while giving a small kick to the side of the horse with her heel.
He chuckled after her as he rushed to get on his own horse, a mischievous smile spread across his lips with a playful attitude in the making.
---
Rushing after her, he snuck up behind her still figure, his hands out in position, readying to frighten her given the moment. He gripped her waist and spun her around "Got you!" He yelled as birds flew from the trees in a hurry "Not so loud!" She whisper-yelled while kicking her feet "Now put me down" she laughed as he placed her back on the ground, spinning her around to face him as he kept his hands firmly on her waist with their foreheads pressed against the other as they both smiled giddy.
They both walked into the wood cabin as white cloths were thrown over the furniture "Got some cleaning up to do, don't we, Loki?" She turned around but he was no where to be seen "Loki?" She walked out again and looked both to her left then right, eyes beginning to worry.
"I'm right here love" she looked up and noticed him in one of the trees, somehow a small log of wood in his hands along with a pocket knife "Where in the heavens did you get that, in matter of seconds even?!" She asked annoyed, hands both on her hips with a sassy tone in her voice.
"No need for the anger, darling, as you can see I am perfectly fine" she scoffed before spinning on her heel to clean up the dusty and dirty cabin they would be staying in "You are to help me, Loki" "I am a prince, I do not do maids work" she looked over at him with the 'look' as he swallowed the remaining saliva in his mouth.
She scoffed again before slamming the door in his face "Darling" he groaned while leaning into the wood as he knocked on the chestnut door "No, apparently this is maids work, so I'll leave you outside until it is fully clean, prince" she snapped while using her magic to lift the white sheets and to clean off the dirt and dust that had built over the past couple of hundred years.
"Darling, open this door. Please" but she ignored his calls with a huff and turn of her head, having used magic to seal the door shut there was no way he would be able to get in "No" she deadpanned while crossing her arms over her chest "Please, darling I'll make it up to you" that caught her attention. The God was begging her...that was new, even to her.
"You best never to compare me with maids, nothing is wrong with them, or me, I just feel slightly offended" she mumbled in a hurry as he rushed to her side, pulling her into a hug "Oh sweetheart, if I had hurt your feelings, know that I apologize, I never wished to upset you" "But you did" she pouted, her plan was working.
He pulled her close to him, gently stroking her ink black hair with one hand as the other held her by her waist. "I'm sorry, my heart" he murmured into her ear as his cheek rested on her temple, a soft frown on his face as he generally felt horrible on the inside. "It's alright" she mumbled while looking down "How can I make it up to you?" "How?" "What would you like me to do?" He asked while holding her delicate hands in his "I'll think about it" she whispered while leaning back into him.
[A/N: This chapter is a little short if I do say so myself, I hope to say that it will get interesting in the next one...trust me-actually don't do that, don't trust me, that's a bad idea.]
