She saw him in the distance, he looked ragged and hurt. He kept walking towards her, with some light in his sparkling blue eyes much like her own. His skin was deathly pale, and he was limping, wincing with every step. In the setting sun, she could see a dazzling, scarlet trail of blood falling in his wake. 

Her heart broke at the sight of him. Tears started to pool up in her eyes before they escaped, falling down her cheeks like raindrops. She ran towards him, each step larger than the last until he was in her arms. 

He seemed to sigh in relief before he crumpled, his body hitting the fresh snow. She gingerly pressed her hand to his wrist, looking for any sign of a pulse. Nothing. Her brother, her twin, exiled for loving another man, for having the claim to the throne? How could she let this happen? How could she let him die? From that moment on, she knew she would not let evil rule, she would take a stand, she wouldn't let anything like this happen again.
