All it takes is one

In a sea of frowns

The smiling face

In a place

Where people come

To rest

To restore

To relax

To heal

Yet all one sees

From both

Fellow vacationers

And workers

Is the same

Avoidance of eyes

Frowning, grumpy

Pissed off demeanor

The doom and gloom

Is quite unnecessary

All of a sudden

In the midst of it all

She's there

Friendly

Sociable

Not a robot

But a human being

The smiling face

Kind eyes

Intelligence in youth

She could be my age

Maybe it's this country's norm

To never smile or look

One that passes you in the eye

Glad there is at least one exception

Among those that work here

I feel that she and I

Could be friends

Outside of this place

I don't say that often

But I feel comfortable with her

It's not just

The smiling face

But it is someone

Who is genuine

I can read fakeness

And insincerety from a mile away

In a place where

People seem

So full of themselves

It's refreshing

To just chat with

Someone normal

Only a handful of

Fellow vacationers

Also, fit the bill

The rest are a lost cause

It's people like

The smiling face

That brings my soul peace

May that continue, henceforth
