Never slam your
Finger
In the car door
It hurts like a bitch

At least at first
Your mother has a
Near heart attack
Just watching you cringe in pain

My mother had to
See her klutz daughter
Do just that
On her birthday

Thankfully no bones
Were broken
Finger has bled
For days

But now is all kinds of swollen
And is turning pretty colors
Or not so pretty
Only time will
Heal this wound

Fingers and car doors
Don't mix
Though I don't need
Bubble wrap like
Many a friend of mine

But I definitely
Have to watch myself
Don't be a klutz
Like me
