May be easier said then done
When someone's who has
Been chronically ill previously
Comes down with a small cold

Unlike the illness that
Controlled every portion
Of someone's existence
A cold is small fries

A week or two
And it's gone
Yet that clawing
Nagging feeling
Of like before

Starts to tap
The inner tendrils
Of that growing
Scarefest

Don't let fear control you
Your mind is where it festers
As the sun sets
And night comes

Things appear so much
Worse then they are
The more you fear
The more it multiples
Into a hungry monster

Starve it
Don't give it food
Kill it
Before it resurrects

Fear is its name
Power is its gain
You have the will
To take it all away

The cold will go away
Maybe with meds
Or not
But it's not like before

You beat that back
You're safe as long as you don't stress
Learn to let it all go

Don't let fear control you
Do control it
Regain your power
Your soul will help
With iron will in your veins

Just give it time
This too shall pass
