"Daryl and (Y/N) will go check out the store across from the store Glenn and Maggie are going to check out. " Rick tells us who is paring up to clean out the stores of useful things.

I can feel my face get red when he pairs me up with the famous Daryl Dixon. Carol gives me a "back off" look and I stare back at Rick. I Also kinda had a crush on him but it was more on Daryl.

We all pile into a van. Rick is driving, Michonne is in the passenger seat, Maggie and Glenn
sit in the two seats in the back and Daryl and I in the very back wich is a bench seating. I look back at the prison, wondering if it's my last time seeing it. In this world you could die at any moment. I wake up every morning wondering if I'll die.

It's very awkward because while everyone else talks and jokes, Daryl and I sit there and look out the window.

We make it to the little strip shopping mall and divide the stores evenly. We get 5 stores each.

Daryl and I check out four stores and find some canned goods and blankets. The last store though is like the jackpot.

There are boxes of food and water.

"Whoa!" I yell as I open a box full of candy. "Can't believe nobody raided this store."

" Must've been after the outbreak while half the population are Walkers," says Daryl. "And I call dibs on the Smarties."

I roll my eyes and carry the box to the van. Daryl says he'll go tell Rick and the others to see if they can help.

I walk back inside and am about to pick up the last box when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"I got it Daryl, you-" I stop short when I turn around to be face to face with a walker, this must be the previous survivor staying here. I scream as he drags me down, making me land on my ankle the wrong way and I hear a snap. I push him away from me by holding his shoulders, his mouth Inches from my face.

I let out a scream and struggle to push it off. I faintly hear the door open and an arrow goes straight through the walkers head. The Walker falls lifelessly on top of me. I push it off and try to stand up but searing pain shoots through my ankle and I fall towards the ground, but before I can hit it I feel a pair of strong arms grab me around the waist and pull me back up.

Daryl picks me up bridal style and carries me to the car. He sets me in just as Maggie came around the back.

"What happened?" Asks Maggie.

"A walker attacked her an' made her break her ankle." Replied Daryl. He then told her to go get the last box.

"Thank you Daryl." I say.

He nods. "I just hate to think what would've happened if I didn't come. " he says and looks at me in the eye.

"The truth is I love you (Y/N) an' I was too affraid to say it before. But after today I think it might be the right time. " He says and my hearts start racing.

" You don't know how long I've been waiting to hear those words." I smile and he takes my face in his hands and kisses me.

I hear someone clear their throat and pull away to see Glenn standing there with a role of bandeges and a smirk.

" Thought you might need these," he says tossing the role to Daryl. "But you might also need these by the looks of it and tosses Daryl a bottle of pills. Daryl tosses it back and says "Better watch your mouth sunshine. Ot to get you into trouble (or should I say into the dumps?....badum tssst. Too soon? ) one of these days."

Daryl wraps my foot which hurts like hell and I find out that Glenn threw Daryl some birth control pills.

Maggie returns with the box and a gun that the walker had on them.

We all pile back into the car and drive towards home. I just hope Carol doesn't set the prison on fire (badum tsst..... OK I'm done ) with the news of Daryl and I being a couple.

Daryl ends up falling asleep with his head on my shoulder and I play with his hair while he does so.
