Streets
Everyone walks through the empty streets of Savannah. Lee, Ben, Christa, and Kenny have drawn their pistols, and Chuck carries a shovel. Omid limps along, his injured leg now bandaged. Clementine walks beside Lee and looks at her walkie-talkie attached to his hip.
Clementine: Can't I just hold it? Just for a little while? We're getting real close to where my mom and dad are, maybe I can--
Lee: Not now, Clementine. Maybe later, okay?
Clementine: Okay.
Lee: How's Omid?
Christa: His leg's pretty bad.
Omid: I'm fine.
Christa: You're not fine, you need to rest. He needs to rest.
June: If the wound is open then we will have time to bandage up his leg before he get an infection
Omid: you do know alot about wounds
Y/n: She a nurse for a school in Atlanta but got fired after she didn't come to her job and for stilling some medicine and bandages
Sabri: Yeah, let just hope we don't out family
Mark: yeah... Let hope
Mark look that June to see her death was shooting herself, then look that Lillu death to see she get bitten by a walker and was shot by y/n while he was crying same for Sabri, then look that the twins to see they have a happy life with there partner and having kids, then look that his hands and sigh
Lee: Kenny, how much farther to the riverfront.
Kenny: Should be just a few more blocks up ahead.
Christa: And there'll be boats there?
Lee: There sure as hell better be.
Kenny: There'll be boats. Have to be. Have to be.
Ben: It's going to be okay. Kenny knows what he's doing.
June: I hope so... My legs are killing me
The belltower starts ringing.
Ben: What the hell...?
Christa: Maybe this city's not so dead after all...
Kenny: Keep moving. No one's ringing that bell, it's automatic, on a timer.
Lee: (checks watch) What kind of church bell goes off at twenty past the hour?
Lee notices a figure climbing on the rooftop.
Lee: Someone's up there.
Ben: Are you sure? I don't see anything.
Lee: Hey! Hey, you up there!
Christa: Damn it, Lee, keep quiet! You're gonna--
Mark: staring to get a headache...
The radio crackles.
Stranger: If I were you, I'd get out of the street. Now.
Christa: I thought you said that thing didn't work!
Lee presses the button on the radio.
Lee: Who is this? Is that you up in the belltower?
Omid: What the hell was that? Is someone trying to fuck with us?
Ben: Sounded more like a warning.
Chuck: "Ask not for whom the bell tolls..."
Kenny: What are you yammerin' on about?
Chuck: "It tolls for thee..."
Dozens of walkers start to approach the group. The bell has stopped tolling.
Lee: Everybody, RUN!
The group kills some walkers and run through the street. A walker trapped under a car grabs onto Kenny's ankle, making him fall and drop his gun. He grabs onto a pole and tries to pull himself toward the weapon.
Lee: Kenny!
Lee shoots the walker.
Kenny: Little too close, don't ya think?
Clementine: Ben!
Ben and Clementine are cornered against a brick wall by walkers.
Lee: No! Ben! Help her!
Clementine panics as Ben runs away.
Lee: Goddamn it!
Lee shoots several of the walkers near himself and Clementine. She yelps as a walker gets close to her.
Lee: No!
Chuck knocks over the walker and drives his shovel through its chest. Lee hugs Clementine.
Chuck: Get her the hell out of here! I'll catch up with ya!
Lee and Clem run ahead.
Kenny: Move your asses! River Street's right up ahead!
Ben: That's not all... (more walkers approach)
Kenny: Oh, gimme a fucking break!
Christa: Wait, where the hell's Chuck?
Chuck continues to kill walkers with his shovel as more of them swarm around him.
Omid: Shit! He's in trouble, we gotta help him!
Kenny: (looks at walkers approaching the group) There's no time! We've gotta go, now!
Mark: He not gonna make it, he going to die soon.
Chuck: I'll be fine! Just go!
House
The group runs into the backyard of a house.
Kenny: I'll get the door!
Lee closes the gate. Omid falls down and Christa kneels next to him. Ben and Kenny try to open the boarded-up door.
Lee: You okay?
Omid: (moves to a sitting position) Ugh... Yeah.
Christa: You've opened up your wound, you're bleeding! Shit, that's gonna get infected. We've gotta get him inside, clean him up!
June: I still got some medicine and bandages. I could patch him up out here while we wait for the door.
Christa: Be more save if we did that inside
Lee: Kenny? How's that door coming?
Kenny: I'm working on it, I'm working on it!
Christa: Well, work faster, would you? Won't be long before those things outside figure out where we went. You know they can smell blood!
Kenny: Lady, I ain't the one who's bleeding.
Lee: Let me see if I can find us a way in.
Lee picks up the shovel.
Lee: A shovel is never not useful.
Lee talks to clementine
Clementine: Do you think the dead people saw us come back here? Are they going to find us?
Lee: Try not to worry. Even if they saw us, they can't get in here.
Clementine: We did. Why can't they?
Lee: We're a lot smarter than they are. They're just like dumb animals, they can't open doors.
Clementine: I used to have a pet hamster. One night, he figured out how to open the door to his cage, and when we woke up he'd eaten half a box of cookies.
Lee: I don't think this is quite the same, Clem.
Clementine: Yeah, right. This time, we're the cookies.
Lee: Just stay away from the gate. I'm gonna see about getting us inside the house
Lee talks with Christa & Omid
Lee: How's he looking?
Omid: I'm alright.
Christa: You're not alright. You've reopened your wound, you're losing blood, and god only knows what might've gotten in there. It could be infected, it could be--
Omid: No offense, but you really need to work on your bedside manner. beside June here been help and making use it haven't gotten infected yet
Lee: She's just worried about you, man. Don't worry, we're gonna get you fixed up in no time, just as soon as we're inside. Okay?
Omid: Okay. Thanks, man.
You reassured Omid.
Christa: Please go and help Kenny. We need to get him inside NOW!
Lee: I'm on it, just sit tight.
Omid: Hey, I'm not going anywhere.
June: Good.
Lee talks with clementine
Clementine: Will we be inside soon?
Lee: Yeah, not much longer now.
Clementine: I hope so. It's getting cold out here.
Lee talks to ben
Lee: Ben?
Lee: About what happened back there on the street...
Ben: I know. I don't know what happened. I just...froze up. Hasn't that ever happened to you?
Lee: Just hear what I'm saying to you. You put that girl in danger again, it won't be walkers you have to worry about.
Ben: I hear you.
Lee: How do you think Kenny's holding up?
Ben: I don't know. It's...it's like all he can think about is finding a boat. He definitely doesn't want to talk about Katjaa and Duck. At least not with me.
Lee: Maybe we should just let him deal with it in his own way.
Lee: Think we can get in through one of these windows?
Ben: Man, I don't think so. Whoever owned this place had them all barred up.
Lee: Yeah...looks pretty solid.
Lee: I'm gonna go check things out.
Ben: Alright.
Lee then walks over to Mark, the twins, and Lillu
Lee: Hey you four.
Lee seen walker scratchs on the twins but seen them held.
Lee: That a pretty cool power you got.
Y/n: thanks, we can give our heading powers to anyone we kiss but it only work on Baby's, Kid's, Teen's, or Young Adults, not old people or grown ups.
Lee: So humans ain't born with powers, so how did you get your powers.
Sabri: we half vampire because of our Healing power, part wolf because of our good hearing, part cat because of our night vision, and half human because our dad and mom was humans while our grandma or grandpa was either a half Vampire or half Cat or half Wolf.
Lee: Any ideas how to get though the door.
Lillu: I seen a doggy door but I don't think the dog going to be here soon.
Lee: What you mean?
Mark: The dog is dead. The owners bury the dog next to the dog house.
Lee: I keep that in mind.
Lee: see ya, around.
Mark: Bye lee.
Y/n and Sabri: Bye Dad!
Lillu: Bye Unlce Lee!
Lee walks away while smiling then went to talk to Kenny
Lee: How's it coming? Find a way in yet?
Kenny: Door's locked up tight. Too heavy to force it without making a whole lot of noise.
Lee: Maybe there's a better way in.
Kenny: Well, if there is, I ain't seeing it.
Lee: You think maybe someone's still inside?
Kenny: Nah, we'd have heard from 'em by now, all the racket we're making. But whoever was here did a pretty good job fortifying it. Nice place to hole up...if we can just figure out how to get in.
Lee: Hey. How're you holding up, man?
Kenny: Lee, I appreciate the interest, but I don't think talking about my feelings right now is going to help us get inside this house.
Kenny: Maybe you should have a look around. See what you can find.
Lee looks at the pet door.
Lee: What's this? Looks like there's some kinda pet door here.
Ben: I tried it already, that's locked too.
Kenny: Who the hell ever heard of a locked doggy door?
Omid: I have. My neighbor had one just like that. It's radio-controlled, the dog wears a collar with a chip in it so the door only opens when the dog gets close to it.
Kenny: Well, shit. Every day's a school day.
Ben: Alright, so...where's the dog?
Lee look that the grave walk to get and prepares to dig up the dirt mound.
Omid: Hey, be careful. Digging up dead things isn't what it used to be, you know what I mean?
Lee: Yeah, I hear you.
Everyone but Omid approaches the grave as Lee digs up the grave.
Clementine: What's buried down there?
In the grave lies a dog's corpse with a collar still on.
Lee: Whatever it is, it's been here a while.
Clementine: Ew, I can smell it from here. Gross!
Lillu: Nasty
Y/n and Sabri: (nods)
Christa: Clementine, honey, come sit with me and Omid, let Lee work.
Clementine sits with Omid and Christa.
Lee finishes digging up the grave and sits the shovel aside.
Ben: Oh, god, the smell.
Lee: Ugh... I can't get it off.
The dog's head falls from its corpse and the collar comes off.
Lee: Aagh!
Ben: Okay, that is NOT cool.
Christa vomits.
Clementine: Are you okay?
Christa: I'm fine, honey. It's just the smell.
Omid: Are you sure you--
Christa: I said I'm fine, okay?
June: alright then.
Ben: how come you guys are smell it.
Y/n: I don't know, Ben.
Lee takes out the collar and places it near the pet door.
Lee: Here goes nothing...
The pet door unlocks.
Kenny: Yes! Goddamn!
The group approaches the door. Lee looks through the pet door.
Ben: You see anything in there?
Lee: No. Looks like it's been empty a while.
The sound of walkers can be heard nearby.
Christa: Whatever you're gonna do, do it fast.
Lee: Okay, lemme see if I can reach up in there...
Ben: Be careful, man...
Lee tries to reach the door handle.
Lee: Ugh...it's no good, I can't get it.
Ben: Here, let me try. I think I can--
Clementine crawls through the pet door.
Lee: Clem! what do you see in there?
Clementine opens the door.
Clementine: (raises hands) Ta-da!
Lee: Good job, Clem!
Ben: Yeah, way to go.
Clementine: I did good, right?
Lee: Yes, you did. You did good.
You praised Clementine.
Omid: (gets up) Can we maybe have this conversation inside? My leg's starting to hurt like hell.
Kenny: (steps through door) Looks okay from here, everybody in.
Everyone enters the house. Christa help Omid onto a couch in the living room.
Omid: Argh!
Christa: Sorry! Sorry!
Omid: No, it's okay. I'm good. Feel better already just being off my feet. Thanks, babe.
Christa joins the group in the kitchen.
Christa: So, when were you going to tell us about the radio?
Kenny: Tell you what?
Christa: That it's working! That there's someone else on the other end of that thing! You didn't think that might have been worth sharing with the rest of us? Well?
Lee: I was going to tell you. Kenny and I only found out yesterday.
You were honest with Christa.
Christa: So both of you were keeping it from the rest of us? Great.
Kenny: Who gives a shit about the damn radio? I'm more worried about whoever it was out there ringing that bell and bringing the dead down on top of us! It's like they didn't want us to make it to the river!
Christa: What makes you think it's not the same person? Whoever was on the radio was close enough to see us in the street. And we didn't see anyone else other than the guy in the belltower.
Kenny: Because that doesn't make a lick of damn sense. Why would they bring out the dead like that and then try to warn us about it?
Christa: How much sense does anything make anymore? In case you haven't noticed, there's a lot of twisted folks out there these days. At least the dead don't play games with you.
Lee: Whoever that was on the radio, I think they were trying to help us. They did warn us, didn't they?
Christa: Maybe you're right. But whoever it was, they're watching us. Following us. And they don't want us to know who they are. I can't think of any explanation for that that would make me feel better. Can you?
Lee: I think we could all use a little time to rest up and gather our thoughts, Kenny. At least until those walkers outside wander off and Omid's feeling better.
Kenny: He best feel better quick. I ain't gonna wait around here too long.
Ben: Place seems secure, at least.
Christa: I'll feel better when we know that for sure. We need to check the whole house.
Kenny: (sighs) Alright, fine. You and me'll take the upstairs--Lee, you've got down here. Make sure you check every door, understand?
Lee: Okay.
Ben, Christa, and Kenny leave.
Clementine: Can I help? What if there's another locked door?
Lee: (pat Clem's head) I think you've been helpful enough for one day, kiddo. Why don't you just see if Christa and Omid need anything, okay?
Clementine: Okay.
Lee check the water
Lee: Nothing. Water's off.
Lee then see dog food
Lee: Hope we never get desperate enough for food that this starts looking appetizing. I'm not THAT hungry. Besides, I need to finish checking the downstairs.
Lee went over to the microwave and push a button
Lee: No power.
Lee went to the open icebox to see a crayon drawing depicts a dog with the caption "My Dog Walter". Lee sighs sadly.
Lee: All cleaned out.
Lee then Examine the cabinets
Lee: All empty.
Lee then walks over to the living room to see a picture or a boy with his family and dog
Lee the look that paintings
Lee: Not exactly my style...
Lee: Hey, guys.
Christa: How's the house looking?
Lee: Not done searching the first floor yet. But so far, so good.
Lee: How's that couch treating you, Omid? Leg feeling better yet?
Omid: I'm alright.
Lee: I feel you.
Lee: Finding this house was a hell of a stroke of luck.
Christa: I'll like it a lot better when we know for sure it's safe.
Lee: I'll make sure. But right now it feels like just the break we needed. Maybe our luck's starting to turn around.
Christa: I'd like to believe that. Really, I would.
Lee: What do you guys think about this plan of Kenny's?
Christa: The guy's losing it. Look, Lee, I know he's your friend and all, but you need to be careful. That man is on the edge. And I don't know if I wanna be around when he goes over it.
Lee: Kenny's solid. He's just been through a lot, that's all.
Christa: I hope you're right. For all our sakes.
Lee: Sit tight. I'll keep checking the first floor to make sure it's safe.
Christa: Thanks, Lee.
Lee went to talk to clementine
Lee: Holding up okay?
Clementine: I hope this house is safe. Have you checked all the rooms to make sure?
Lee: No, but I'll take care of it.
Lee look that a bottle of whiskey
Lee: Probably not the best idea right now. I need to stay frosty.
Lee then look that the table
Lee: Looks expensive. And heavy. Doubt any looters would be able to haul that thing too far.
Christa: How's it coming?
Lee look that two bottle of whiskey
Lee: Whoever cleared this place out left behind two bottles of whiskey? Looks like someone didn't have their priorities straight.
Lee look that a grandfather clock
Lee: Must've stopped working a while ago.
Lee opens the other door, drawing his gun, finding it to just be a bathroom.
Lee: Nothing hiding in here.
Lee opens one of the doors in the living room, holding his gun in the other hand. He finds it to just be an empty closet.
Lee: All clear in here.
Lee looks at the double doors in the hallway.
Lee: Just one more to check.
Lee pushes open the double doors, drawing his gun. A broom falls over.
Lee: Jesus!
Clementine: What? What happened?
Lee: (places the broom back) It's nothing. Just...nothing.
Lee returns to Christa, Omid, and Clementine.
Lee: Well, the place ain't got much. We should be okay here for a while, at least until it quiets down outside.
Christa: Good. Thanks.
Lee: Is he okay?
Christa: Yeah, for now. But I'm really worried his leg might've gotten infected. Don't suppose you turned up any meds while you were poking around?
Lee: Nah, just dog food. And there's some whiskey in the back.
June: I ate dog food once... It was a dare from my friends
June: I was just asking Clementine if she knows who the man on her radio is. It's okay, honey, you can tell us. Who is he? What does he want?
Lee: Go ahead, Clem. It's okay. You're not in any trouble.
Clementine: It's just a friend. I don't think he wants to hurt us.
Christa: What has he been saying to you? What have you been saying to him?
Clementine: I told him I was trying to find my parents, and that they were in Savannah. He really seems nice, I think he wants to help me find them.
Christa: Clementine. Honey, trust me, that's not what he wants. He--
Ben: LEE!
Ben runs partway down the stairs.
Ben: Lee, you need to get up here now.
Lee: What's wrong?
Ben: It's Kenny.
Ben and Lee go upstairs and stand in front of the stairs to the attic.
Ben: Kenny said he thought he heard something up there, went to go look.
Lee: He's up there?
Ben: I can't get him to come down.
Lee: Stay here.
Lee climbs up the attic stairs. Kenny is kneeling on the floor.
Lee: Kenny? You okay, man? Jesus. What the hell is that--? Oh, my god.
Lee notices the shriveled walker corpse of a a young boy. It takes a step forward, then falls, unable to support its own weight.
Kenny: Kinda looks like Duck, don't he?
Lee: It's just a kid. What the hell happened to him...?
Kenny: Ain't nothing on him. Guess he must've been hiding out up here. Starved to death.
Lee: Jesus Christ...
Kenny: I don't know if I can, Lee. Couldn't do it before. Can't do it now.
Lee: I can't ask you to go through this again. Let me take care of it.
Lee: I can't ask you to do this, man. I'll take care of it. Like I did before.
Kenny: Are you sure?
Lee: I guess we'll find out...
Lee look that the walker
Lee: Poor kid must have tried to hide out up here until he starved to death. This could have been Clementine if I hadn't found her when I did.
Lee takes out his gun.
Lee: I'm sorry.
Lee shoots the walker.
You chose to do it yourself.
Kenny: We should bury him.
Lee: I'll take care of it.
Lee picks up the walker's body and goes downstairs.
Lee carries the body to the backyard. He places it in the grave with the dog and covers the grave with dirt as Clementine, Christa, June, and Mark briefly watch from a distance before going inside. Lee finishes filling the grave and notices a figure behind the fence; he runs away as soon as Lee sees him.
Lee: (grabs fence rails) Hey. Hey!
Lee: Who are you? What the hell do you want from us?!
Ben and Christa run out to the backyard.
Christa: Lee? What's going on?
Lee: I saw someone standing there by the fence. Watching us.
You told the truth.
Ben: A walker?
Lee: No, too fast. Took off like a bat out of hell when I spotted him.
Christa: Was it a man or a woman?
Lee: Didn't get a good enough look.
Ben: What does it matter?
Christa: I'm wondering if it's the same guy who's been following us. The guy on the radio
Kenny steps out of the house.
Lee: Kenny?
Kenny: I'm fine. Just...I'm fine. What's all the ruckus?
Ben: Lee saw someone watching us from outside the gate.
Kenny: What? Who?
Lee: I can't be sure. They ran off before I could get a good look.
Ben: I don't like this one bit. Not one bit.
Christa: Me either. Walkers are one thing, but the thought of someone out there actually stalking us...
Kenny: Alright, that's it. We've stuck around here long enough. It's time to get back on track, time to get down to the river and find ourselves a boat.
Kenny: Well, he'd better get ready. Because I'm going down to River Street right now to find a boat, and as soon as she's ready to go we're moving out.
Lee: We only really checked the house to make sure it's secure, we didn't really toss the place. We're low on food, water, meds, ammo...we should make sure there's nothing here we can use before we move out.
Kenny: You search it if you wanna. I'm done with this house. We came to this city to find a boat, and that's just what I'm gonna do.
Ben: Maybe it's not such a bad idea to check the place one more--
Kenny: I SAID I'M DONE WITH THIS HOUSE.
Everyone becomes silent for a moment, Kenny makes a sad expression. Lee decides.
Lee: We can do both. Ben, you take one last look around the place, grab anything that looks useful, while me and Kenny go down to the river to get us a boat.
Clementine: Wait, can't I come? My mom and dad can't be far away now, maybe we can look for them on the way to the river.
Lee: We need to focus on finding a boat right now, Clem. Like we talked about on the train, remember?
You asked Clementine to wait a little longer.
Clementine: Okay.
Kenny: Daylight's burning. Gonna go grab my gear, then we'll head out.
Christa: Come on, Clem, let's go see if Omid needs anything.
Everyone but Lee and Ben go inside.
Ben: So, you're just gonna leave me on the bench here?
Lee: That's not how it is, Ben. I need you to stay here and keep an eye on Clementine.
Ben: I can do that.
Lee: Well, just so we're clear. While I'm gone, anything or anyone tries to get inside this house, you shoot them. Don't even think twice about it. Understand?
Ben: I got no problem shooting walkers.
Lee: Did you hear what I said? Anything or anyone. (Ben nods) Good.
You trusted Ben to look after Clementine.
Ben goes inside the house.
River Street
Kenny and Lee walk down the abandoned street.
Lee: You think everyone's safe back at the house?
Kenny: Safe as anyone can be these days, I guess.
Lee: I just hate leaving Clementine alone. As if walkers weren't bad enough, now we've got this crazy motherfucker on the radio stalking us.
Kenny: Won't be a problem once we get out on the water. River's just a few blocks up ahead.
Bells start tolling and Kenny draws his pistol.
Kenny: Son of a bitch. That bastard's fucking with us again. It's another trap.
Lee: No. Listen. That's not the same bell as before. This one's further off. Whatever it is, it's gonna get the dead moving over there.
Walkers start to appear on the street, moving away from them. Kenny and Lee hide behind a wall.
Kenny: What in the hell is going on?
Lee: I don't know, but the person ringing that bell might be doing us a favor.
Kenny: Whatever, man. I find whoever's doing that, I'll ring their motherfucking bell for 'em.
Lee: Good one.
The walkers have disappeared.
Kenny: Hmph. Let's keep moving.
Kenny and Lee continue walking.
Lee: Still nothing moving behind us, I think we're--oh, my god.
Only one boat, partially submerged, is left at the harbor.
Kenny: There's gotta be a boat...there's gotta be.
Lee: Are you sure about that? It doesn't look like it to me. Maybe we need to start thinking about a plan B.
Kenny: This IS the plan! It's the only one we've got, and you pissin' on it in front of everyone like you did back at the house ain't exactly helping. Well, screw you, I ain't giving up that easy.
Kenny turns away. Lee reaches out for him but Kenny runs, soon followed by Lee. Kenny jumps down onto the dock to examine the boat, and Lee stands on the sidewalk behind the railing.
Kenny: This one might still be salvageable.
Lee: Seriously?
Kenny: You got a better fucking idea?
Kenny: I'll check it out. You look further along the waterfront. Maybe there's something at the other end.
Lee: I don't think we should split up too far.
Kenny: We don't have to. See that telescope? You can see all the way along the waterfront from right here. See what you can find.
Lee: Okay.
Lee walk to an Newspaper Machine
Lee: Looks like it's still intact.
Lee then try to open it
Lee: Locked.
Then Lee went over to a car
Lee: Gas siphoned, tires removed, engine parts missing... Looks like this thing has been stripped clean.
Lee then look that a truck
Lee: Someone must've been trying to back their boat into the water. Only things didn't go as planned.
Lee then walk over to the Newsstand and look that the cash register
Lee: It's an old cash register. Don't think money has much use these days.
Lee then look that the newsstand
Lee: An abandoned newsstand
Lee then look that a building
Lee: Must have taken weeks to board all these windows.
Then Lee look that a marking
Lee: What the hell are these markings? They're all over the place.
At the end of the street, several "living" zombies are stuck on pikes next to a sign saying "STAY OUT".
Lee: What the fuck? What is this meant to be, some kind of warning? Who would do something like this?
Lee back away and look that a marking
Lee: Could be military tags. But what do they mean?
Lee then look that the walker piler
Lee: Using walkers like scarecrows? What sick bastard did this?
Lee like that the barricade
Lee: This barricade does a good job of making me not want to go any further.
Lee looks through the telescope.
Lee: Great. Needs a quarter to work.
Lee then went to the Newsstand
Lee: Hello, beautiful. (opens register) Empty. Yeah, that would have been too easy.
Lee then bashes the newspaper machine with the spike monkey wrench and picks up the quarter that falls out.
Lee is about to use the coin on the telescope, when Kenny jumps back up to the street.
Kenny: Fuck!
Lee: What's up with the boat?
Kenny: It ain't gonna work. Hull's cracked beneath the water line, plus someone stripped out the battery.
Lee: You can't fix it?
Kenny: (notices walker barricade) What the--what the hell is that?!
Lee: A fate worse than death...
Lee inserts the coin and looks through the telescope.
Lee: No sign of any boats down there.
Lee: Abandoned, like every other place in this city.
Lee: Plenty of docks. No boats.
Lee: No way that one's salvageable.
Lee: Nothing but water. Not a boat to be seen.
Lee looks all the way to the left and sees a figure on top of a building.
Lee: What the hell...?
The figure climbs down using an ice pick.
Lee: Get down, get down!
Kenny and Lee crouch on the dock. They look through the fence as the figure searches the newsstand.
Kenny: Why the hell are we hiding?
Lee: Someone came down from that building at the end of the street.
Lee: Where'd he go?
Lee: Saw him run into that newsstand.
Kenny: Could be our bell ringer. How about we go find out?
Lee: Maybe he's just another scavenger, like us.
Kenny: Yeah, and maybe he ain't. Maybe he's that fucker on the radio who's been messing with Clementine's head. Don't you wanna know? 'Cause I wanna know.
Kenny: Okay, you head up the middle of the street, I'll go around the side, cover your flank. We'll come up on him quiet, take him by surprise. (draws pistol)
Lee: We just wanna talk to this guy.
Kenny: Oh, we're gonna talk.
Kenny hides in an alleyway and Lee sneaks forward. Molly crouches down, and Lee looks over the counter, his melee weapon raised. The newsstand is empty.
Lee: What the--
Molly comes up behind Lee and takes the weapon out of his hand.
Lee is smacked in the face with his own weapon and falls to the ground.
Clementine: No!
Lee: Clem...?
Clementine: Please...don't hurt him!
Molly lets Lee stand up. She removes her hoodie and mask.
Molly: You're not from Crawford.
Lee: Have you been following us?
Molly: Following YOU?
Kenny steps out from his hiding spot, pointing his gun at Molly.
Lee: Kenny, no! It's not our guy!
Molly sweeps Kenny's leg, and he falls, dropping his gun as it fires. Molly kicks his gun away and brings down her ice pick, stopping at the last second.
Lee: No! He's with us!
Kenny gets up and Molly puts her weapon away.
Molly: Who the hell are you people?
Lee: Everyone just calm down.
Kenny: I'll calm down once she tells me who the fuck she is.
Molly: Back off, asshole. The name's Molly.
Lee: Molly, I'm Lee, this is Kenny and Clementine. We're not looking for any trouble.
Clementine: Hi.
Molly: You guys really aren't from Crawford, are you?
Lee: I don't even know what that is.
Molly: Everything beyond that barricade.
Lee: What the hell happened here?
Molly: You sure you wanna know?
Lee: (nods)
Molly: When everything went to shit, some people got together and sealed off that whole neighborhood. Folks willing to do anything to stay alive, stop the dead getting in. I try to avoid 'em.
Kenny: Why?
Molly: Let's just say they have a zero-tolerance policy for anyone who won't--or can't--live by their rules.
Kenny: So how'd you know we weren't them?
Molly: Because there are no children in Crawford. Not anymore.
Lee: What do you mean, no children? Why not?
Molly: No children, no elderly, no one with an advanced medical condition. Basically no one who might be a burden on the community. Crawford's all about the survival of the fittest. That's how they survived, while the rest of the world went to shit around them.
Kenny: Jesus Christ...
Molly: Well, just the opposite, when you think about it.
Lee: What exactly did Crawford do with all these "burdens"? What happened to them?
Molly: (gestures to barricade) Well, you met some of them already.
Kenny: Fuck me...
Molly: Yeah. Anyone who got sick, anyone too old, anyone they figured wasn't strong enough to survive. To them those people were just mouths to feed, a drain on their precious resources.
Lee: How do you know all this?
Molly: Everyone in Savannah knew. What was going on inside Crawford got passed around like a ghost story. Except this one was true.
Lee: Was that you at our house this morning? Watching me through the back fence?
Molly: Hell no. Believe it or not, I've got better things to do with my time.
Lee: Clem, what the hell are you doing here? How'd you get out of the house?
Clementine: Omid started getting really sick, Christa and Ben had to take him upstairs. I didn't just want to sit around there, I wanted to come help.
Lee: I told you we didn't need any help.
Molly: Really? Because if it weren't for her showing up when she did I would've beaten your brains out.
Lee: That's debatable.
Molly: Uh-huh.
Lee: Do you know who's been ringing those bells all over town?
Molly: Yeah, that would be me.
Kenny: I knew it! Lee, I knew she was the one who's been following us, fucking with us! (points at Molly)
Molly: Get that finger out of my face, grampa, before I jam it straight up your ass. (Kenny complies) I haven't been following you. I don't even know who the hell you people are.
Lee: Calm down, Kenny. The voice on the radio was a guy, remember?
Kenny: Yeah, well, whoever you are, ringing those bells this morning nearly got us all killed, raised the dead all around us!
Molly: That's the idea, genius. It's how I get around. I ring a bell in one neighborhood to attract the local geeks toward it, buys me some time to scavenge the areas they cleared out.
Kenny: Geeks? Is that what you call them?
Molly: Yeah. You know, like at the carnival. They'll eat anything, alive or dead.
Lee: That's pretty smart, with the bells.
Molly: Doesn't take much to outsmart the dead. Bunch of dumbasses. You just gotta move fast, get in and out before they start to wander back again.
Molly: Look, I'm gonna ask you people again: you're not from Crawford, so who the hell are you? What are you doing here?
Lee: We came down here looking for a boat, hoping to get our people out of here and find someplace safe.
Molly: Yeah, good luck with that. Anyone with a boat took it out of here as soon as people started eating each other. Any that got left behind, Crawford stripped 'em for parts. Cars too.
Kenny: There's gotta be something.
Molly: If there was, do you think I'd still be here? I've been over every inch of this city, this whole place is picked clean.
Kenny: Goddamn it! Fuck!
Molly: Hey! Moron! You wanna keep your voice down?
Kenny: Shit.
Molly: Since you're not getting on any boat, I'd advise you folks to go back to where you came from, before--
Walkers appear.
Molly: Great. Just great.
Kenny: Isn't that the--
Lee: The way we came.
Kenny: Fuck! Gunshot must've brought 'em back.
Clementine: Isn't there another way back to the house?
Lee: Molly, is there a--
Lee turns around to see Molly run into the alley. She wall climbs with her ice pick to get up to the fire escape.
Lee: What the hell do you think you're doing?
Molly: I'll tell you what I'm not doing. I'm not getting eaten.
Kenny: And what about us?
Molly: What about you?
Clementine: Please, you can't just leave us!
Molly turns around sees Clementine's sad expression and reaches out her hand.
Molly: Come on! Make it fast!
Lee and Molly help Clementine climb up. Walkers fill the alley.
Kenny: Oh, fuck me...
Lee: Come on, come on, hurry!
Lee and Molly help Kenny climb up.
Clementine: Lee! Come on!
Kenny reaches out his hand.
Kenny: Come on, man, one good jump!
Lee either does nothing, or grabs Kenny's hand but is dropped to the ground.
Clementine: Nooo! Lee!
Lee pushes the dumpster to the side.
Clementine: Hurry!
There are walkers on the other side of the alley too.
Kenny: C'mon, Lee, get your ass outta there!
Lee tries to open the manhole cover.
Lee: Gah! Can't get it open!
Molly tosses down her climbing pick.
Molly: Here! Use that to pry it open!
Lee takes the climbing pick, pries open the manhole cover, and climbs down.
Clementine: Leeee!
Sewers
Lee climbs down the ladder. A walker falls from the open manhole above and crashes to the ground, smashing its brain.
Lee: Clementine! Can you hear me?! If you can hear me, just get back to the house, okay? I'll meet you there!
Lee looks at the ladder behind him; walkers continue to growl and groan aboveground.
Lee: Shit.
Lee walks down the steps and through the sewers, and reaches a tunnel sloping down with sewage running through it. He starts to carefully walk through it. If he walks along the side, he makes it through and climbs down.
Lee: Built solid.
Lee: Half-eaten sewer rats. Walkers must be down here, too.
Lee: (nudges rat's corpse with his foot) Ain't touching that. Last thing I need is some god-awful disease.
Lee: (struggles to remove grate) Locked.
Lee: It's a drainage pipe.
Lee: Could be the way out. But there's no way I can take on all of those things by myself.
Lee continues to walk through the sewer, and comes across a group of walkers consuming a corpse. Lee enters the small passageway on the left.
Lee turns the green wheel of the pipe to the right. Water begins flowing from the pipe on the other side of the passageway grate, and the sound attracts the walkers.
Lee: Good thing I'm out here and not in there. (looks at wheel) Hmm, seems loose.
A walker stands in front of the passageway.
Lee: Shit.
Lee takes the wheel with him. He turns left and uses the climbing axe to unlock the grate in front of the passageway. Lee opens it and enters the area from earlier. He places the wheel on the drainage pipe and turns it to the right. Water flows through the grate near the pipe, and walkers stop eating and approach the sound.
Lee: Here they come.
Lee returns to the passageway and enters the area the walkers previously were. Lee notices that the partially consumed corpse is Chuck, his gun lying nearby.
Lee: Oh, my god. Chuck. He must've tried to hide out down here. The poor bastard. (picks up gun) No bullets. He must've saved the last one for himself. (puts gun away) You deserved better, old man.
Lee goes to the end of the hallway; a single walker stands at the end of it, its back turned as it concentrates on the grate in front of it.
The walker growls.
Lee sneaks toward the walker, planning to kill it with ice pick. Suddenly, a walker's hand reaches out from the grate on the floor and grab's Lee's leg. The first walker starts to approach Lee.
Lee: Let go, goddamn it!
Lee uses the climbing pick to pry the zombie's hands off him. As he stands up, the other zombie stands in front of him.
Lee whacks the walker's head with the pick.
Lee walks to the end of the hallway, where there is a manhole cover with no ladder leading up to it.
Lee takes out the climbing pick and tries to jump up the wall, but his foot hits the sign, making it come loose and reveal a hole in the wall behind it.
Lee: What the hell?
Lee pulls the sign down and steps through the passage behind it. He enters a room with supplies and furniture.
Lee: What the hell...? Must've been one of those old nuclear fallout shelters.
Lee: Wonder if someone's living down here.
Lee: Look at all this. It's enough to keep people alive for months.
Lee opens the door and enters the next room, where he finds a group of survivors. One of them shakily points a revolver at him, and Lee raises his hands.
Vernon: Who are you?
Lee: It's alright. It's okay. I don't want any trouble.
You tried to calm things down.
Vernon: Neither do we. Which is why you'd do well to turn around and leave. Right now.
Lee: Look, I'm sorry I disturbed you folks. I'll just be going.
Brie: You can't let him leave. He's from Crawford! If he goes back there and they find out we're down here...
Vernon: Are you from Crawford? Don't lie to me, I'll know.
Brie: Where else can he be from? Everywhere else around here is dead.
Vernon: I think you'd better start talkin'.
Lee: I'm not from around here. I'm from Athens, grew up in Macon.
Vernon: I have a brother in Macon. You were there? How was it? As bad as here?
Lee: I'm sorry.
Brie: You can't trust him, Vernon. You can't let him leave.
Vernon: What do you want me to do, shoot him in the head?
Brie: Why not? That'd be more of a mercy than anyone from Crawford ever showed us. Think, Vernon! what do you think they'll do if they find out we're down here, right under their feet?
Vernon: Damn it, you're right. I'm sorry, friend. Can't take the risk.
Lee: I'm not from Crawford, but I saw what they did up there. It made me sick. I'm not like them. And I don't think you are either. I think you're a good man. (walks forward)
You chose to reason with the group.
Vernon: Keep back or I swear I'll shoot!
Lee calmly takes the gun from Vernon.
Lee: It's alright. It's okay.
Brie: Vernon, what the hell are you doing?! Vernon!
Lee: (puts gun away) Relax. I'm not here to hurt you.
Clive: You're really not from Crawford?
Lee: No. I'm really not.
Vernon: Well...we are.
Vernon: Or were. We got out of there when they starting sealing up the place, starting weeding out the sick and the old so their perfect survivor society wouldn't be threatened. No room for weakness or vulnerability in their little master race.
Lee: You don't look that old. So...you're sick?
Vernon: WE'RE sick. We're all members of a cancer survivors group that used to meet here at the hospital. We're in remission.
Vernon: But that wasn't good enough for Crawford. They'd already rounded up five of us before the rest managed to hole up and hide from them down here. This old basement's been abandoned for years.
Lee: What is this, a morgue?
Vernon: Yeah. Irony's always high on my list when I'm looking for a place to survive. How did you find your way down here?
Lee: My group and I were up by the river looking for a boat. Now I just want to get out of here and find them again.
You were honest.
Vernon: That sewer system you came through runs all over the city, it'll take you wherever you want to go.
Lee: Those sewers are like a damn maze. Any chance you could help me find my way back?
You asked for help.
Vernon: But we've all got our own problems. Two of our group are sick and need constant care. And I'm the only doctor here.
Brie: Besides, why should we help you?
Lee: Look, I'm sorry if I scared you. I just want to get back to my people. Back to Clementine.
Vernon: She's your daughter?
Lee: Yeah. She's probably already wondering where I am.
Vernon will remember that.
Vernon: Well, we can't have that, can we?
Brie: Vern, what the hell are you doing?
Vernon: It's alright, Brie. I had a daughter too. Lost her in the first days. I'll be damned if I'll just sit back and let that happen to someone else.
Clive: We need you here!
Vernon: Don't worry. I'll be back before you know it.
Vernon: Let's go.
Vernon hugs Brie goodbye, exchanges nods with Clive, and checks on Joyce. He and Lee leave.
House
Lee and Vernon enter the house.
Lee: Clementine? Clem?
Molly searches the kitchen cupboards and drawers.
Lee: Molly?
Molly: Oh, hey. You made it back.
Vernon: Who's this?
Molly: He didn't tell you about me?
Molly: Understandable, I guess. I'm the one who put that beating on him when tried to jump me back at the river.
Molly: Who's the fossil?
Lee: This is Vernon, he's a doctor, he helped me get back here after we got separated.
You answered Molly truthfully.
Molly: I think you have something that belongs to me.
Lee hands her the climbing pick. Molly walks away, and Christa rushes down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Christa: Lee. Thank god you're back.
Lee: Christa, what's wrong?
Christa: It's Omid. He's gotten worse. Much worse. June is going to change the bandage soon.
Lee: We have a man wounded.
Christa: Who's this?
Lee: This is Vernon, he's a doctor.
Christa: Oh, thank god!
Lee: Could you take a look at him?
Christa: You have to help us...please?
Vernon: I'll see what I can do. Take me to him.
Vernon, Lee, and Christa enter the bedroom Omid is resting in. and seeing June holding bandages and medicine along with mark
Christa: Omid, honey. You're gonna be alright. Lee brought a doctor.
Vernon: Alright, let's take a look at him... I work better without an audience. I'm sure you have more things of your own to attend to.
Lee leaves the room.
Lee: Clementine... Clementine?
Lee looks for clementine
Lee: Clementine? You here?
Lee: Clem? Clementine?
Lee: Clementine, where are you?
Lee: Hello?
Molly is searching under the bed.
Lee: What are you doing?
Molly: Oh, you know. Just poking around.
Lee: You won't find anything, we already searched the place.
Molly: You'd be surprised what people miss. Trust me, I've been doing this for a while.
Lee: Where's Clementine?
Molly: Don't ask me, I'm not her keeper.
Lee: Hey! Do I look like I'm in the mood to be jerked around? Where did she go?
Molly: Last I saw, she was downstairs with your redneck friend and that college kid who hangs around with him. Why don't you go bug them?
Lee walks down the stairs.
Lee: Clementine! Come out, please!
Lee walks into the living room. Ben and Kenny are sitting down, and Kenny is drinking from a whiskey bottle.
Lee: Kenny?
Kenny: Oh, hey. You made it back. Good job. Good job.
Lee: What the hell do you think you're doing?
Kenny: What does it look like?
Lee: Where'd you get the bottle?
Kenny: Found it.
Kenny: First good thing that's happened since...
Lee: Kenny, come on. Gimme that.
You tried to reason with him.
Lee tries to grab the bottle, but Kenny holds onto it.
Lee: Kenny! Give me the damn bottle!
Kenny: Get the fuck away from me!
Lee: Getting wasted's not going to help anyone.
Kenny: Yeah, well, what is? We are fucked! Molly said there's not a single boat left in Savannah. No way out. We got walkers all around us, that crazy fuck on the radio messing with us...hell, if now ain't the time for a drink...
Kenny takes a sip and offers the bottle to Ben; he is about to take it when he notices Lee glaring at him, and decides not to have any.
Lee: Ben, I gave you one job when I left here--take care of Clementine. Then she shows up out on River Street looking for me? What the hell happened?
Ben: Hey, don't put all that on me. Omid took a turn for the worse and Christa asked me to help. I'm sorry, I'm doing the best I can here. She was frantic and things got kind of crazy. I told Clementine to stay put, what else could I do?
Ben: I think she went out to play in the backyard.
Lee: On her own? With no one watching her?
Ben: Man, will you get off my back? She's fine out there!
Lee: She'd better be, or it's your ass!
Lee automatically goes to the backyard.
Lee: Clementine? Clementine!
Lee attempts to use the door, but the shed door moves.
Lee: Door's covered in vines...don't think anyone came in through there.
Lee looks into the empty street.
The dog house is empty.
Lee looks sad.
Lee looks out at the empty alleyway.
There is nothing there.
Something bumps against the shed door from the inside. Lee opens it as Clementine pushes against it, and she accidentally knocks Lee to the ground.
Clementine: Lee!
Y/n and Sabri: Dad!
Lillu: Unlce Lee!
Clementine, the twins, and Lillu runs over to Lee and hugs him.
Lee: Hey, guys.
Clementine: Come look! Look what we found!
Clementine walks up to the shed and Lee opens the doors all the way, revealing a boat.
Lee: Holy shit.
Clementine: Swear.
Y/n: Clem said there was no boat so we went to find one.
Kenny walks up to the shed and smiles, dropping the whiskey bottle. Some time later, at sunset, Molly, Omid, Christa, Mark, The twins, June, Lillu, and Vernon sit in the living room as Lee paces across the room.
Lee: Omid's doing okay?
Vernon: As well as can be expected under the circumstances. I did what I could for him, cleaned out the wound. But he's got a real infection, running a fever. Without antibiotics... And June help as well.
June: Thanks.
Molly: Will you quit pacing? You're making everyone nervous.
Christa: Why are you even still here?
Molly: Hey, if your friend really can get that boat working, you're taking me with you as payment for saving your asses. I figure that's fair enough, don't you?
Ben and Kenny enter.
Lee: Well?
Kenny: (sighs) You want the good news or the bad news?
Lee: Let's get the bad news out of the way first.
Kenny: Bad news is, she's not taking us anywhere, the shape she's in right now. Gas tank's empty and the battery's dead.
Christa: So, what's the good news?
Kenny: That's it, that's all she needs, some gas and a battery. Other than that, she's good to go.
Christa and June: So, what's the good news?
Kenny: That's it, that's all she needs, some gas and a battery. Other than that, she's good to go.
Mark: Well, how are we supposed to get that stuff?
Lee: Sounds like Crawford is the one place that has everything we need. Maybe we should try there.
Christa supports your plan.
Vernon: Now, hold on a minute.
Christa: Surely we have to try. If there are people left in this city who are still alive, who still have supplies...what harm can it do to ask?
Vernon: Trust me, you don't know these people. I do. You showing up with a wounded man? Might as well put a noose around his neck. They don't exactly welcome children with open arms, either.
Y/n: What the hell kind of a place are we talking about here?
Molly: The worst kind. But I don't see what other choice we have.
Kenny: And just how exactly do you figure we do this? Because, from what I've heard, that place ain't exactly friendly to outsiders.
Molly: That's putting it mildly.
Lee: There's got to be some way we can sneak in there undetected.
You suggested sneaking in.
Vernon: There might actually be a way.
Vernon: I know the sewer system that runs beneath Crawford like the back of my hand. Y'all wouldn't happen to have a map by any chance?
Lee: Yeah, actually...
Lee unfolds the map and places it on the coffee table.
Vernon: I think I could lead us through so we could pass under the perimeter and right into the center, where they keep their supplies. We come up right underneath 'em, take 'em by surprise, grab what we need and get out before they even knew what hit 'em.
Molly: Okay, that's not bad. That's better.
Vernon: I've thought about it before, just never had the people to do it. But I think if we all work together, we could pull it off.
Kenny: And what do you want in return for all this help you're giving us?
Vernon: Crawford doesn't just have what you need for your boat, they're also well-stocked with medical supplies. Medicine that my people could use, just as yours could.
Christa: We can do this. We have to!
Kenny: So...it's decided, then? We're going to Crawford?
Lee: Anyone else have a problem with this plan? Because we're going to need every one of us to pull this off.
Ben: Man, I don't know...
June: Can't leave my kid and nephews
Mark: Yeah beside I have a feeling that you need our help when we get to Crawford.
Kenny: I don't know about you, kid, but I'd rather take a chance on doing something than just sitting around here waiting to die. That boat out there is an answered prayer, we just gotta push a little bit farther. Are you in or out?
Ben does not reply.
Vernon: We should go tonight, under cover of dark. I'll go let my people know, give you all a chance to prepare. I'll be back before midnight.
Christa: Be careful.
Vernon: That's how I'm still alive.
The group separates. Lee walks toward the stairs where Clem is sitting.
Lee: I told you to stay in your room. How long have you been there?
Clementine: Is it going to be dangerous?
Lee: Is what gonna be dangerous?
Clementine: Crawford.
Lee: I can't lie to you, Clem. Yeah, it's gonna be dangerous. But it's the only way to get the things we need to make Omid better, and get the boat working. That's why we have to do this. Do you understand?
You were honest with Clementine.
Clementine: I don't want anyone else to die.
Lee: Neither do I, but sometimes we have to take that kind of risk.
Clementine: I guess I should go get ready.
Lee: Uh, say what now?
Clementine: You said you'd need all of us to do this. And you said I'm a big help, remember? Molly said Crawford is the only place left in Savannah that still has people. That means it must be where my mom and dad are, right?
Lee: Where I'm going, it's just too dangerous. For children, especially.
Clementine: You said I'm supposed to always stay close to you.
Clementine: Can't I come with you?
Lee: Okay, you can come. But you have to promise to stay quiet and do exactly what you're told the whole time we're there.
You chose to bring Clementine with you.
Clementine: Okay. I'm gonna go get ready.
Clementine runs up the stairs.
Everyone gathers in the backyard. Christa loads her gun, the kids got there axes, Molly, and June studies the map, while Kenny and mark searches the shed.
Kenny: Check out what I found in the garage. Hatchet, hacksaw, some other tools. Might come in handy on this little break-in.
Lee: Nice.
Mark: Can we talk to you a minute?
Lee: What's up?
Kenny: I took another look at the boat. She's a 30-footer.
Lee: So?
Kenny: So, we're gonna have a capacity problem.
Kenny: Boat that size ain't gonna hold more than five people, even with four of them a kid.
Lee: Me, you, Clem, Christa, Omid, Ben, Molly, June, Mark, The Twins, Lillu...
Kenny: Assuming everyone makes it back alive, that's still one too many, even if we cut Molly loose. Before this is over, we're gonna have to make a decision.
Mark: Knowing June she want other to be safe, so we may head off soon. Sorry don't be surprised we can answer
Lee: You're not serious.
Kenny: Look, I'm just saying, if we want the best chance of--
Vernon and Brie enter the backyard.
Kenny: Who the hell is this?
Vernon: This is Brie, she can help us.
Lee: Good, we're gonna need all the help we can get.
Brie appreciates your support.
Molly: Then what are we waiting for? Let's get moving.
The group starts to move out.
Lee: Hold up just a sec.
Lee: You ready?
Clementine: Ready.
Vernon: Whoa, hold on a minute. You're not taking her with us. Did you not hear anything I said about the kind of place Crawford is? If you take her in there and they find her--
Lee: This little girl's not just excess baggage. She's gotten us out of a tight spot more than once. She's coming. Deal with it.
Kenny: You heard the man.
Kenny: Let's move out.
Ben offers Lee the hatchet, and he takes it.
The group leaves.
Crawford
The group stands beneath a manhole cover in the sewers.
Vernon: This should be it. We're right underneath the center of Crawford, the old school should be directly above us.
Lee: Okay, people, this is it. Remember the plan. We stay quiet, we stay hidden, and we stay together. We find what we need and we get the hell out before anyone even knows we're there. Got it?
Everyone nods.
Lee: And that part about staying close? That goes double for you.
Lee climbs up the ladder.
Lee: Can't get a good look above with the cover on.
Lee removes the manhole cover.
Lee: Let's go.
Everyone gets out of the sewer and hides in the bushes near a building.
Vernon: Where is everybody? There should be guards patrolling.
Kenny: What, are you disappointed?
Vernon: It's just strange, is all.
Christa: I think I see one. Over there, by the door.
Mark: Umm... That a walk--
Lee: Okay, me and Kenny'll sneak up, try to take him out quiet. The rest of you wait for our signal and then follow us over. Everybody got it? Okay, Kenny, let's do this quiet. No shooting unless there's no other choice.
Kenny: Right behind you.
Lee takes out his hatchet and sneaks up to the guard.
Lee: What the FUCK?
The "guard" turns around and is revealed to be a walker. Lee chops him in the face or shoots him several times, killing him. The rest of the group comes out of hiding.
Lee: What the FUCK is a walker doing inside here?
Mark: I was trying to tell you guys.
Y/n and Sabri: Umm... I heard walkers
More walkers approach.
Lee: Get inside, fast!
Everyone runs inside St. Felicity's Catholic School and Lee closes the doors behind them. They run up the stairs and burst through a door into a hallway of lockers; Vernon and Brie close the doors.
Kenny: Fuck. Fuck! Do you think they saw us?
Lee: I don't think so. I think we're good, for now, at least.
Christa: What the hell happened here? I thought this place was supposed to be secure!
Molly: What always happens, I guess. In the end, the dead always win.
Ben: Oh, man, we are so screwed...
Vernon: No, this is good.
Lee: What? How the fuck is this good?
Vernon: Before, everyone in Crawford was smart and they had guns. Now they're dumb and they don't. Hey, trying to look on the bright side here.
Kenny: I agree. So long as we don't let 'em box us in, we can still do this. The plan hasn't changed.
Y/n: (mumble) Crawford is dumder then mother math quiz
Ben: The plan hasn't changed? Every time walkers show up the plan changes! Do you even have any idea how many of them are out there?
Christa: No. You wanna do a headcount? Or do you wanna get what we need and get the hell out of here?
Brie: Come on, I think I know which way to head.
Ben: I got a bad feeling about this.
The group walks down the hallway. Behind a boarded up door marked with an X, several zombies growl.
Molly: Just keep moving.
They reach a door at the end of the hallway.
Brie: Here.
Lee cautiously opens the door.
Lee: Looks okay. Everybody in.
The group enters the abandoned classroom. Lee tries to open a door marked "Armory".
Lee: Figures
Mark: Looks like they were using this room as some kind of command center.
Molly: Okay, so now what? Where do we start looking?
Brie: Here. (looks at hand-drawn map hanging on the wall) Just give me a sec...
Lillu: This place give me the creeps
Lee: Any idea where we could find a battery?
Vernon: (points to map) Maybe at the auto shop? There used to be one in the alley outside the fire escape.
Lee: So then we just need a battery. (points to map) This auto shop, it's right next door?
Brie: Yup, it's called Herman's, you can't miss it.
Lee: Where can we find some fuel for the boat?
Kenny: What about the fuel? Where should I start looking?
Brie: There's a maintenance shed across from the playground here, (points to map) if they were storing fuel that's probably where it'll be.
Christa: What about the medicine?
Molly: (points to map) Right here. Nurse's station, they were using it as a medical facility.
Christa: How do you know that?
Molly: Just makes sense, doesn't it?
Kenny: Okay, I'll make the run to the maintenance shed for the fuel.
Brie: It'll be faster if I go with you, I can take you right to it.
Ben: I'll come too.
Kenny: No, two people's enough. You stay here, see if you can use any of those tools we brought to get that armory door open. We might need to shoot our way out of here.
Christa: I'll go for the medicine.
Vernon: I'll come with you, I know what to take.
Lee: Okay, I guess that leaves me to go find us a battery.
Molly: I'll go with you, watch your back.
Lee: (gives hatchet to Kenny) Okay, we've got a plan. Everyone be careful, stay close to one another, we'll all meet back here. Good luck.
The group splits up. Lee, Ben, and determinantly Clementine are left in the room.
Clementine: What about me, what can I do?
Lee: I need you to stay here with Ben and watch over our command center. I'm putting you in charge of it. Okay?
Clementine: (looks over at Ben trying to open the armory door) You're leaving me with Ben?
Lee: I'm not leaving you with Ben. I'm leaving him with you. Understand?
Clementine: Ohhh. Okay.
Lee: Back before you know it.
Y/n: Clem, me and my family will help watch over Ben.
Clem: Thanks.
Lee: Hey, you need any help with that?
Ben: Thanks, I got it. Just once, I'd like to do something useful, you know?
Lee: That'd make a nice change of pace.
Ben: Wow, no need to agree with me quite so much. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Ben will remember that.
Lee: Well... I'll let you get on with it.
Lee turns to leave.
Ben: No, wait. There is something you can help me with. Something that's been on my mind, I could use your opinion.
Lee: What is it?
Ben: It's Kenny. Since I've been helping him work on the boat, I've gotten to know him a little better. He's a good guy, you know? And it's eating me up, knowing what I know. I've been thinking about telling him the truth.
Lee: Ben, c'mon. This again?
Ben: It's my fault Duck and Katjaa got killed. If I hadn't screwed up back at the motor inn, they'd still be alive. How am I supposed to just carry something like that around? I have to tell him.
Lee: Ben. No offense, but have you lost your motherfucking mind? Kenny's barely hanging on, you tell him you're to blame... I don't even want to think about what he might do.
Ben: I know. I've thought about that. But I don't know how much longer I can keep looking him in the eye. I feel like I'm lying to him by not telling him.
Lee: I'm telling you, man, it's a bad idea. Real, real bad.
Ben: Hey, maybe you're okay walking around with somebody's blood on your hands, but that's not who I am! I can't just pretend it never happened.
Lee: Look, we need Kenny. We him to hold his shit together if we're ever going to get out of here, so you need to keep this to yourself. For the good of everyone. You hear me?
Ben: I hear you.
Ben: I'm gonna get back to this.
Lee: How are things going with that door?
Ben: Slowly but surely.
Clementine is sitting in one of the school chairs.
Lee: You okay, Clem?
Clementine: Yeah. This desk is just like the ones we have in my school. I know it's weird, but I kinda miss it. Being in school.
Lee: Me too. I used to be a teacher, remember? Tell you what--when we find ourselves a safe place, we'll set up a little classroom. Just you and me.
Clementine: Will there be homework?
Lee: No homework.
Clementine: Do you think things will ever be normal again? Just like the way they were before?
Lee: Yeah. It may take a while, but, yeah, I do. Don't you?
Clementine: I hope so.
Lee: That's good. You hold onto that hope. It's the one thing none of this can take away.
Lee: You okay, Clem?
Clementine: Yeah.
Lee: Just sit tight, okay? I need to go take care of a few things.
Clementine: Alright.
Lee exits the classroom.
The sign says:
PRINCIPLES OF CRAWFORD
ALL ILLNESSES AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS MUST BE DISCLOSED TO THE COUNCIL.
CHILDREN UNDER 14 NOT ADMITTED WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION.
ANYONE ASKED TO LEAVE CRAWFORD CANNOT RETURN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
THEFT OR LOOTING WITHIN THE DISTRICT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
WASTE NOT! MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR RATIONS.
Lee: Must be the guy who ran this place. Looks like he figured himself as some kind of supreme leader.
The photo shows Crawford Oberson; written on the photo is:
WELCOME NEW CITIZENS TO CRAWFORD
C. Oberson -- Crawford Leader
KEEPING YOU
Lee turns the corner.
Molly: The alleyway to the auto shop's down here. You coming or not?
Molly leaves to go to the alleyway.
Lee: You guys need any help?
Vernon: Thanks, but I think we're almost in.
Christa: We're taking care of it, Lee. don't worry.
Lee goes to the alleyway door.
Lee: This must be the door to the alleyway where the auto shop is. But where the hell is Molly?
Lee goes through the door and down the fire escape.
Lee: Molly? You out here? (looks behind him at the walkers outside the gate) Guess I'm not going that way.
The sign says "DELIVERIES MADE IN REAR" with an arrow sign pointing to the left. Beneath it is written "Authorized Motor Pool Workers ONLY".
Lee: Auto shop must be down this way.
The sign says:
1 QT. OF OIL RATIONS PER CRAWFORD CITIZEN EVERY 3 MONTHS
NO EXCEPTIONS
MAKE IT LAST!!!
The sign below it says "LOOTERS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT!"
Lee: Damn...
Lee enters the shed. He looks at the hole in the ceiling, then climbs on the shelves to get to the roof of the shed and jump over the gate with barbed wire.
Lee: Must be the entrance to that auto shop where Brie said we'd find that battery.
Lee: (looks at walkers behind fence) Better not get too close.
Lee tries to open the garage door.
Lee: Damn, it's jammed tight.
Lee walks to the end of the alley, then back. As he returns, a walker body drops down in front of him. He leans down to examine it.
Molly: Leave him! (jumps down from the roof and takes out pick) He's mine.
Lee: What were you doing up there?
Molly kicks the walker several times and repeatedly stabs him with the pick.
Lee: Molly... MOLLY!
Molly: What?!
Lee: Calm the fuck down! What's wrong with you?
Molly: What's the matter, never seen someone kill a geek before? (stabs walker)
Lee: Not like THAT.
Molly stabs the walker.
Lee: He's wearing medical scrubs. Some kind of scientist or doctor, maybe?
Molly: Yeah, well, he ain't shit now. (kicks walker) Did you find us a way in?
Lee: Yeah, but the garage door's jammed, can't raise it. (tries to lift door)
Molly: Not a problem. Look what I found. (offers carjack)
Lee: Oh, yeah. That'll work.
Lee takes the carjack. Walkers start clawing at the fence, pushing it over more and more.
Lee: Shit...
Lee places the carjack under the garage door.
Molly: Come on!
The walkers knock over the fence and start approaching. Lee hurriedly pushes up the garage door and he and Molly crawl inside.
Molly: Take a look around. I'll make sure no stragglers get under this door.
Lee talks to molly
Molly: Something you need?
Lee: What was all that about back there?
Molly: He came at me up on that rooftop, tried to take a bite out of me, so I took care of business. What, you got a problem with me killing geeks?
Lee: No, it just seemed like you went to town on him a little more than you needed to.
Molly: Hey, you never really know when those things are all the way dead. I was just making sure. Look, you wanna get this battery or not? Time's wasting.
Lee: What do you think happened to Crawford?
Molly: Don't know, don't care. As far as I'm concerned these fuckers got what was coming to them.
Lee: Not a lot of sympathy for the people who died here, huh?
Molly: I have about as much for them as they did for the sick and the old and anyone else they didn't think was fit to belong in their little paradise. So, yeah, fuck 'em.
Lee: So why did you decide to help us?
Molly: I told you, I'm expecting a ride on that boat once that hillbilly friend of yours has got it running.
Lee: You sure that's all of it?
Molly: You wanna keep interrogating me, or you do you wanna get the damn battery and get outta here?
Lee: I'm going to have a look around.
Molly: You do that.
Lee look at the semi truck
Lee: Looks like Crawford had their own semi trucks.
Lee look that the truck hood
Lee: Maybe there's a car battery in there we can use for the boat.
Lee open the truck hood
Lee: Well, I can see where the battery SHOULD be. But it's not.
Molly: Perfect.
Lee looks that a car
Lee: That blinking. Must be an anti-theft system. Good chance of a working battery being in that car...if I can find a way to get up there.
Lee try to reach
Lee: I can't reach it up there.
Lee looks at the hydraulic hose.
Lee: Looks like it's the hose for the lift hydraulics.
Lee tries to pry the hydraulic hose.
Lee: Don't think I can pry that hose apart with just my hands. Maybe if I had something to cut it with.
Lee talks to Molly.
Molly: Something you need?
Lee: Think I can borrow that hook thing of yours?
Molly: I don't know, Hilda and I have been through a lot together.
Lee: Hilda?
Molly: That's what I call her. Don't judge.
Lee: Please can I borrow Hilda? I'll take good care of her, she won't get a scratch.
Molly: (gives Hilda to Lee) I got your promise now. Not a scratch!
Lee uses Hilda to cut the hydraulic hose. The car slowly starts moving down the lift.
Lee: That did it! Whoa, whoa, whoa!
The car accelerates and crashes to the floor, setting off its alarm.
Molly: That's probably not good!
Lee: No shit!
Walkers start clawing under the door. Molly runs over and grabs her pick.
Molly: I'll try to hold 'em off! Hurry!
Lee: There's the battery! Finally something goes right!
Lee: It's still attached to the terminals!
Lee unscrews the terminals. He detaches one of them.
Lee: It's off!
Lee detaches the other terminal.
Lee: Got that one off!
Lee picks up the battery.
Lee: Got it!
Molly: Yeah, but we still got a problem here. Put it in here, I'll carry it! (Lee puts the battery in her backpack) Okay, follow me. (climbs on the semi truck) Move your ass!
Lee climbs up the semi truck as walkers surround it.
Lee: Great. Now what?
Molly: Skylight.
Lee: It's stuck!
Molly: Shoot it out!
Lee shoots the skylight. Molly jumps and uses the pick to climb up to the roof, then helps pull Lee up.
Lee: Okay, so now we're on a roof.
Molly: Do you ever stop complaining? Come on.
Molly jumps to the adjacent rooftop, using Hilda to help her climb up.
Molly: Come on, what are you, chicken? Jump!
Lee: What did you call me? (looks over edge) Well, now that you mention it...
Lee jumps to the other rooftop and grabs onto Molly's hand; she helps pull him up. They arrive back at the school, and Lee drops down through the hole in the ceiling.
Lee: Come on.
Molly: Later. Something I gotta do first.
Lee: What?
Molly: Catch you later.
Lee: Wait! You've still got the battery!
Molly: Yeah, I think I'll hold onto it, make sure you don't leave without me. See you back in class! (runs off)
Lee: Molly! Goddang it! What the hell is she doing?
Lee walks down the hallway. Kenny and Brie run inside the door, holding gas cans.
Kenny: Little help here?
They drop the gas cans and the hatchet. Lee, Kenny, and Brie push the doors closed as walkers try to get in; the doors get stuck on a walker's head.
Kenny: Fuck! Doors won't close all the way!
Brie: Lee, do something!
Lee shoots the walker and they successfully close the doors.
Kenny: We got it!
Brie: Brace the door with something!
Lee picks up the hatchet and sticks it between the handles.
Lee: Think that'll hold?
Kenny: It damn well better.
Brie: There's so many of them...
Lee: You got the fuel!
Kenny: Let's not start high-fiving each other just yet. Let's get the hell back to the classroom. Give us a hand with these fuel cans, they weigh a goddang ton.
Lee, Kenny, and Brie bring the cans to the classroom.
Clementine: You're back!
Kenny: Yeah, and we made out pretty good too.
Ben: Great work, Kenny!
Kenny: How're you doing with that door?
Ben: Not so good.
Kenny: Here, let me give you a hand. (tries to help Ben with the door) You get that battery yet?
Lee: Yeah, Molly has it, she should be back here soon.
Kenny: She'd better be.
Lee talks to brie
Lee: Brie?
Brie: Hey, Lee. Thanks for all your help back there. I don't think we would have made it without you.
Lee: No problem, we're all on the same team.
Lee: So, you're a cancer survivor? Like Vernon and the others?
Brie: Yeah. I was diagnosed in college. Been getting treatment ever since. Just when I was starting to get better, when I thought there might be some hope, all...this happened. Lost my whole family. I'm the only one who survived. Funny how things work out, huh?
Lee: What do you think about this whole Crawford situation?
Brie: I'd rather not talk about it. Too many awful memories. Even being back here gives me a bad feeling.
Lee: Even now, with everyone dead?
Brie: I've got no sympathy for what happened to these people. They weeded out the sick and the old, even children, those least able to defend themselves, so that they could save their own skins. Whatever happened here, however Crawford fell, I consider it poetic justice.
Lee: Damn, girl, that's cold.
Brie: It's how I feel. If you'd seen what I've seen, you'd feel the same.
Lee: How long have you known Vernon?
Brie: Couple of years. He ran our support group. He was really great, helping me come to terms with my disease. But how do you come to terms with something like this? With a place like Crawford? I don't know what I, or the other survivors, would have done without Vernon. He's the one who held us together, kept us alive.
Lee: I'll be back. Got some things to do.
Brie: Good luck.
Lee: Hey, I--
Brie: I'm a little busy here, Lee. Maybe you should go get that battery or help with the medicine.
Lee talk with clementine
Lee: You okay, Clem?
Clementine: Yeah. Where's Molly?
Lee: She had to go run an errand, she'll be back soon.
Clementine: I hope she's okay.
Lee: She'll be fine. She's pretty tough. Just sit tight, okay? I need to go take care of a few things.
Clementine: Alright.
Lee talk to Ben and Kenny
Ben: What do we still need?
Lee: We already got the fuel and the battery, once we find some medicine we'll be good to go.
Kenny: So, where's this battery you found?
Lee: Molly has it, she ran off to do something.
Kenny: Well, she'd better bring it back here. I dunno why you trusted that girl with it, we hardly know her.
Lee: She saved your life, didn't she?
Kenny: Hmph. Yeah, but what has she done for me lately?
Lee went to talk to the summer family and the twins
Lee: Hey guys
Mark: Hi
Lee: So do the kids go to school?
June: No. After Sabri and Y/n Ex-boyfriend or in Sabri Ex-girlfriend, people bully them. My sister-in-law and her stupid ass husband never did anything, so I home school them along with Lillu
Lee: Sorry to hear that
Y/n: It find, dad
Sabri: Yeah!
Mark: Dad? Guess they did see you as a dad figure while carley was like a mother figure
Lee: So what your plan when we get the boat running?
Mark: We may leave. I mean if we leave them the boat can have: You, Clem, Ken, Christa, and Omid but you have to leave Ben and Molly behind
June: Beside I can hot wire us something to drive in instead on walking
Y/n: We may live tomorrow or something
Sabri: we haven't told clementine yet
Lillu: we don't want her to be sad
Lee: I will tell her... Also be safe
June: We will
Lee: So what do you think of this place?
Mark: It alright never been in Crawford before
Lee:I ain't you from Savannah?
Mark: Yes, but I never like Crawford which why I moved to Atlanta with my twin and meet June while my no good twin meet her husband
June: We may just loot this place beside they're don't need it anyways
Lee: Keep the kids mind occupied for awhile
June: yes... But knowing Y/n and Sabri they got a big kind heart and save there stuff for others or there cousin while Lillu doesn't share with others
Mark: Plus they're won't use them because of sickness aka car sickness
Lee: Good plan
Lee: I'm gonna look around
Mark: Alright
Lee goes to the nurse's office, where several walkers have surrounded the door.
Lee: Shit.
Lee crouches behind a piece of furniture.
Lee: Christa and Vernon must be trapped in there.
Lee takes out his gun and shoots one of the walkers, drawing the others attention toward him. He kills the remaining walkers. He enters the office and Christa points her gun at him, but puts it away after recognizing him.
Lee: What the hell happened?
Christa: They wandered into the hallway after we got inside. I think they must have heard us rooting around in here. The whole place is infested, they're everywhere!
Lee: Calm down. I took care of them. What about the meds, did we find what we need?
Vernon: Yeah--that's our other problem. Take a look. Looks like they were keeping all the prescription meds in that safe--locked up tight.
Lee: Maybe we should try looking somewhere else for medicine.
Vernon: In Crawford? This place is too overrun. No, that safe is our best chance. It'd be a hell of a lot quicker if we just knew the four-digit combination.
Christa: Well, I doubt they just wrote it down and left it here for us to find. We should just try busting it open, we don't have any other choice.
Lee: Okay, you get started, I'll take a look around, see if I can find anything useful.
Lee look down to see blood
Lee: There's dried blood on this printout. And on the floor. Looks like a trail of it, from the safe to that camera over there, then out the door. What the hell happened here?
Lee: Y'all already checked these drawers?
Christa: Yes, Lee. Nothing in there worth taking.
Lee talks to Christa
Lee: Hey, Christa?
Christa: Yeah?
Lee: I hope I did the right thing bringing Clementine with us. This place isn't exactly safe.
Christa: Then why did you?
Lee: Because leaving her alone with Omid didn't seem any safer.
Christa: What's THAT supposed to mean?
Lee: No offense, Christa, but Omid's pretty sick. If he dies with Clementine alone in the house with him...
Christa: That is not gonna happen. Do you hear me? That is NOT going to happen. We're going to get these meds to Omid and he's going to be fine. He's going to be FINE!
Lee:' You're right. I'm sorry.
Lee: Are you feeling okay?
Christa: I'm fine. Why are you asking me that?
Lee: It's just that you've been looking a little pale the past couple of days. You've been throwing up...
Christa: Oh, come on, you'd just dug up a rotting dog carcass! I'm surprised we weren't ALL throwing up. Lee, I'm fine. Quit worrying about me, okay? Worry about Omid, we've got to get him these meds!
Lee: Are you making any progress with the safe?
Christa: No! Without the combination, I don't know we're going to get this damn thing open. If we don't get back to Omid with some medicine soon...
Lee: It's okay. We'll figure it out.
Christa: Look, Lee, I just wanna get back to Omid. Let me do my thing, alright?
Lee: Okay.
Lee look that the safe
Lee: Looks pretty sturdy, no way we're gonna force that open.
Vernon: We might be able to find something to pry it open, but it'll take time.
Christa: We don't have time! Omid needs that medicine! We have to get it open NOW!
Lee: Do you think shooting it open would work?
Vernon: Only thing that would accomplish is getting us all killed. So, no, I don't.
Lee look at a camera
Lee: The way this camera's set up, it looks like it would have had a pretty good view of that keypad. I wonder if it caught someone punching it in?
Lee went to check it
Lee: Empty. Figure.
Vernon: The tape's gotta be around here somewhere. Keep looking.
Lee talk to Vernon
Lee: How's it coming?
Vernon: Slow. Too slow. I'm worried that by the time we manage to get this thing open, it may be too late.
Lee: Hey, doc, I just wanted to thank you for coming with us, and for all your help. I really appreciate it.
Vernon: Don't mention it. It's times like these we've got to help each other the most, right? Or we're no better than those Crawford sons of bitches.
Lee: I heard that.
Lee: Molly helped me get the battery we needed.
Vernon: That's great, one down. Where is she?
Lee: She took off, had some kind of errand she needed to run.
Vernon: Took off...with the battery?
Lee: Yeah. Don't worry, she'll be back.
Vernon: I hope so. That girl doesn't really strike me as a team player. More the mercenary kind.
Lee: How much time do you think Omid has, doc?
Lee: I'll go see if I can find something that'll help us get that safe open.
Vernon: Good idea.
Vernon: You want my medical opinion? The sooner we get him some strong antibiotics to start fighting that infection, the better. Let's just leave it at that.
Lee opens the medical file. Inside is a report and picture of a woman, along with a video tape.
Lee: Anna Correa. I guess she must have been a patient here. And what's this? (takes tape)
Lee puts the tape into the camcorder.
Lee: Vernon, Christa. Come look at this.
The three of them gather around to view the recording.
Logan: This is day eighty-two since the outbreak...fifteen forty-seven. Doctor Logan in consultation with patient Anna Correa.
Anna: Why are you recording this?
Logan: Regulations. Oberson has ordered me to keep records of all medical examinations and consultations. I need you to brace yourself, Anna. The sonogram confirms that you're pregnant.
Anna: Oh, god, oh, god, oh, god...
Logan: As you know, the rules are very clear. The termination is mandatory.
Anna: You don't have to tell them. Tell them it was just nausea, that you gave me something for it and it went away. This is my problem, not yours.
Logan: If Oberson finds out that I concealed evidence of a pregnancy... I'm sorry, but these are the rules. I'm gonna give you a sedative. It'll make the procedure easier on you.
Anna: I don't want the procedure! I want my baby! I can't do this!
Logan: Anna, you don't have a choice. Now, if you like, you can take some time with this, but I need you to come back no later than tomorrow. Or I'll have no choice but to inform Oberson myself. I'm sorry.
Anna runs out of the room. The recording ends and Lee takes the tape out.
Vernon: Damn it! We almost had it!
Christa: What the hell kind of place was this?
Lee: Like Molly said. The worst kind.
Vernon: Lee, maybe there's another tape. We've got to keep looking.
Lee: I think I recognize that doctor. He was one of the walkers out in the alley by the auto shop.
Vernon: Maybe you should search it. See what he's got on him.
Lee goes down the alley and enters the shack. As he is about to climb on the shelves, a walker attacks him. Lee pushes him to the ground and a TV falls on the walker's head, killing it.
Lee climbs the shelves and jumps over the fence. Walker Logan is crawling to the end of the alley. Lee stomps on its head, killing it
Lee: This is definitely the guy.
Lee search's the doctor's corpse and finds another tape and piece of paper that says "LOGAN 6-26-30".
Lee: This might be just what we need. And what's this? Looks like some kind of code, but Vernon said the safe combination was only four numbers. (notices nearby walker) Shit. Time to go.
Lee returns to the school.
Lee: Alley's overrun. Guess I'm not going back out there again.
Lee went to a locker
Lee: Logan. This must have been his locker. (opens locker, takes tape) Another tape. The safe combination has gotta be on one of these.
Lee returns to the nurse's office.
Lee: I found two more tapes. One of them is dated October tenth.
Lee: I found another tape. This one's dated October tenth.
Vernon: That's the day after the first one we watched.
Christa: Put it in.
Lee inserts the tape and they watch the recording.
Logan: Have you made a decision?
Anna: I thought you said I didn't have a choice.
Logan: Well, technically you do. You can terminate the pregnancy, or leave Crawford. Of course that would be a death sentence for both you and your unborn child.
Anna: Maybe that's best. I stayed up all last night thinking about this. Why are we even trying to survive, to keep on living, if this is what it takes? If this is what it's turned us into?
Logan: I don't make the rules, Anna.
Anna: Doctor, I'm begging you. Please help me.
Logan: Maybe one day, when things are different, you can try again. But for now, today, we have to do this.
Logan inputs the code to the safe. Anna grabs a medical tool, stabs him in the stomach, and takes his gun.
Logan: No, no, no...
Gunshots are heard in the distance, and Logan collapses to the floor. Lee removes the tape.
Lee: I think we know what happened to Crawford.
Vernon: More importantly, we've got the combination.
Christa sobs.
Lee: Christa, are you alright? What's wrong?
Christa: It's nothing. That was just...hard to watch. Don't worry about me, I'm fine.
Lee: Alright. Let's get those meds and get the hell out of here.
Vernon inputs the code and unlocks the safe.
Vernon: We're in business. (takes supplies) Antibiotics...morphine...we'll take as much of this as we can carry. Okay, I think we're good. This is more than enough for your people and mine. Let's go!
Lee: You know, I found a third tape in a locker outside. Maybe there's something else on there?
Christa: We got the meds for Omid, that's all I care about.
Vernon: We'll head back to the classroom. Don't take too long, Lee.
Lee: You go on ahead, I want to make sure we didn't miss anything. I'll be right behind you.
Vernon: Don't take too long!
Christa and Vernon leave.
Lee put in the third tape
Logan zips up his pants and Molly buttons her jacket.
Logan: Listen. As fun as this was, I have to put a stop to this little arrangement. This is the last I can give you.
Molly: Why?
Logan: (unlocks safe) Oberson had someone down here yesterday taking inventory, he's really cracking down. I just can't risk it.
Molly: We had a deal!
Logan: (gives medicine to Molly) Yes. We HAD a deal. We don't anymore.
Molly: My sister needs this medicine. Without it, she'll die. Or she'll start showing symptoms and they'll take her away. I can't let that happen.
Logan: I'm sorry, Molly. I've done all I can. But I have to look out for myself here.
Molly: Yeah...that's the Crawford way, isn't it?
Molly leaves, purposely bumping into Logan on her way out.
Lee takes out the tape.
Lee: Well, shit.
Lee enters the hallway. Molly climbs down the hole and walks up to Lee.
Lee: Jesus Christ. You scared the shit out of me. Where the fuck have you been?
Molly: Sightseeing.
Lee: I'll take that battery now.
Molly: Oh...yeah, about that. (notices Lee's shocked face) I'm just kidding.
Molly takes the battery out of her backpack and hands it to Lee.
Molly: Here ya go.
Lee notices Molly holding a photo in her hand.
Lee: What's that?
Molly: Nothing.
Lee: You can quit with the act, Molly. I know you're from Crawford.
You confronted Molly about her lie.
Molly: What? Who told you that?
Lee: I saw you on a security tape. Why'd you lie to me?
Molly: I said there were stories about Crawford, I never said that's how I knew about it. I never lied to you. And even if I did, so what? I don't owe you anything.
Lee: You saved my life twice, but you can't tell me the truth?
Molly: Are we really gonna do this now?
Lee: I guess that's up to you.
Molly: I used to live here with my sister. She was fourteen years old. When the dead started walking and Crawford shut itself in, it seemed like a pretty good deal at first. We were safe, we had everything we needed to survive. Then the rules started coming down. No one who couldn't justify their place, earn their keep. No one who required special care. My sister was diabetic, and by Crawford's rules, that made her a liability. I kept it a secret. Kept her safe for as long as I could. But in the end, I couldn't protect her. That's when I got out. Crawford, they always talked about how their system worked, how anything was better than becoming "one of them". But I saw what they'd already become. I just wished I could have seen it before it was too late. Before they came and took my sister away. (wipes away tear) This is all that I have left of her. (shows photo of her sister) I didn't have time to take it before I got out of Crawford. I just wanted it, okay?
Lee: It's okay, Molly. I understand. She's pretty.
Molly appreciates your sympathy.
Bells start tolling.
Molly: What the hell...?
Lee: I think that's our cue to get the hell out of here.
As Lee and Molly are about to turn the corner, Ben jumps out with the hatchet.
Ben: Aaagh!
Molly: Jesus!
Lee: Shit! Ben!
Ben: Sorry, sorry! I just got spooked by those bells. And then I heard someone coming...
Lee: Did you leave Clementine alone?
Ben: No, Kenny's with her. We still can't open that armory door. He sent me out to look for something we can use to bust it open.
Ben: I found this. (shows hatchet)
Lee: Uh, Ben...where did you get that?
Ben: I just found it, it was stuck in the door handle at the end of the hallway back there.
Lee: Oh, no... Shit!
Walkers bust through the doors. Lee draws his gun, and Molly kills several walkers with her pick. One of them grabs onto her arm, and she punches it, trying to get free.
Molly: Lee! Shoot this fucker!
The walker is shot in the head.
Molly: Thanks.
Lee: It wasn't me...
Clementine stands nearby, holding a gun.
Molly: Good going, kid. Nice shot.
Clementine: Thanks...
The group runs to the classroom and Brie holds the doors closed.
Kenny: What the fuck is going on?
Lee: They're coming!
Kenny: Oh, shit.
Vernon: That oughta hold 'em.
Brie: Sure...but now how do we get out?
Kenny continually tries to knock the door down by slamming his shoulder into it.
Kenny: Through the armory, if we can just get this damn door open.
Ben offers Lee the hatchet, and he angrily grabs it.
Ben: This is my fault...all my fault.
Christa: What the hell's he babbling about?
Lee: Ben, we talked about this.
Christa: No, wait, I want to know what he meant. What do you mean, this is all your fault?
Ben: Kenny, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, man...
Kenny: Kid, this ain't the best time! Whatever you did, save it for later!
Ben: (quietly) I opened the door, I let them in...
Kenny: I said save it for after we get outta here!
Lee: Ben! Shut the fuck up!
You tried to stop Ben.
Ben: Fuck you, Lee! I can't do this anymore!
Ben: It's been me all along. Putting all of us in danger. Katjaa and Duck... It was all me. It was all me!
Kenny kicks the door open.
Kenny: Wait a minute...what are you saying?
Ben: It was me who made the deal with the bandits at the motor inn, slipping them supplies. I thought maybe I could keep them off our backs. When it got discovered, that's when they attacked. That's when Duck...
Kenny lunges at Ben, and Vernon and Lee hold him back.
Lee: Kenny, man. I agree with you--you SHOULD kick his ass! But now's not the time! We gotta focus on getting out of here!
You sided with Kenny.
Kenny: You little pissant! You are fucking dead, you hear me? Dead! My wife and child, you got them both fucking killed!
Lee: Kenny! Listen to me! You can whoop his skinny little ass later, but right now we gotta go!
Kenny stops struggling to attack Ben.
Molly: Nice group you got here.
Lee: Not the time, Molly!
Kenny: If this asshole thinks he's getting on my boat after what he did, he's out of his motherfucking mind! (shoves Ben) You hear me, shitbird? You can stay behind and fucking rot!
Lee: Kenny, we'll sort this out later. AFTER we get out of here, okay?
Kenny: Ain't nothing to sort out! I just told you the way it's gonna be!
Kenny: The boat's not big enough for all of us. Somebody's gotta get left behind, might as well be this piece of shit right here!
Christa: Well, I vote we leave him. I'm sorry, Ben. I know you mean well, but all I want to do is get back to Omid. And you put that at risk.
Clementine: Wait, don't I get a vote?
Lee: Of course you do.
Clementine: Ben's nice. He's my friend. We don't leave friends behind. That's my vote.
Christa: On second thought, I think I'm gonna abstain. Lee?
Lee: I've seen enough of Crawford to know that becoming like them is the beginning of the end. I vote Ben stays with us.
You voted for Ben.
Clementine smiles.
Brie: What about the rest of us, don't we get a say in--
Brie screams as a walker breaks through the door and grabs her. Walkers grab onto her and bite her, then rip out her guts with their teeth.
Y/n: Fucking shit!
Vernon: Brie!
Molly: NOW can we go?
Lee: Damn right. Vernon! Come on!
Lee: Vernon!
The group runs through the armory door. Lee tries to slam it closed but it doesn't stay that way.
Lee: So much for the armory.
Kenny: What's left of it.
Christa: A few rounds, that's it.
Lee holds the door closed.
Kenny: You didn't close that door behind us?
Lee: I couldn't, the lock was busted!
Kenny: Great, just fucking great...come on, there's gotta be a way out down here!
The group walks down the stairs and opens the door, finding a bunch of walkers that instantly head toward them. Lee hurriedly closes the door.
Kenny: FUUUUUCK!
Lee: That's not gonna hold. Back upstairs!
Kenny takes a rifle from a nearby corpse as the others run upstairs.
Kenny: Lee, look!
Kenny tosses Lee the rifle and joins the group. Lee fires at the walkers as they walk through the door. Lee backs up the stairs and continues to shoot the walkers. His foot breaks through one of the steps. Lee alternates between shooting the walkers and pulling his leg. Eventually he gets free and tries to keep walking up the stairs, but finds there are walkers there too. Christa kills some of them. Lee takes out the hatchet and kills walkers as he continues up the stairs. His hatchet gets stuck in the back of one of the walker's heads; he pushes it over the edge, but it grabs onto his gun. Lee shoots it or it loses its grip, and it falls. He reaches the top of the stairs, where the rest of the group is. Vernon looks out the window.
Kenny: Come on!
Clementine hugs Lee.
Lee: It's alright, Clem. I'm fine.
Lee: Any way out of here?
Christa: This leads to the roof, we might be able to find a way down from there.
Vernon: You didn't come into town from the railroad, did you?
Kenny: Yeah, why?
Vernon: Never mind. I can see the sewer where we came in from here. I think we can do this.
Kenny:' Well, what are we waiting for? Go! Go!
Everyone except Lee and Kenny climbs out the window.
Lee: Ben, come on, let's go!
The bell starts tolling. As it moves back and forth, the walker hanging from the bell swings toward Ben and grabs him.
Lee shoots the walker; the rope around its neck snaps and it falls, taking Ben with it, but he manages to grab onto the edge. His hand slips, but Lee grabs his arm.
Lee: Hold on, Ben! I've got you! Ben, climb up! Come on, you can do it!
Ben: There's no time! You have to go, now!
Lee: Quit fucking around, Ben! Come on!
Ben: Let go, damn it!
Ben: Get Clem and the others out of here!
Kenny: Lee.
Kenny stands in front of the window.
Kenny looks at Lee, implying what he should do, then leaves.
Ben: Lee. We both know.
Ben lets go, but Lee continues to hold on to his arm.
Ben: Let me go.
Walkers get closer to the top of the stairs.
Lee pulls Ben up.
You saved Ben's life.
Ben: Why?
Lee: Go, go, go!
Lee and determinantly Ben leave the belltower.
House
The group joins Christa and Vernon in Omid's room.
Lee: Christa? Everything okay?
Christa: Omid...
Christa runs over to Omid and holds his hand.
Lee: Clem, stay back. Don't get any closer.
Christa: I never should have left you... I'm so sorry...
Vernon: Christa, get away from him!
Omid wakes up.
Omid: Hey. Back already?
Christa: We got you medicine.
Omid: Good, feel like I could use some.
Vernon gives Omid some pills.
Omid: You okay, kid? You look worse than I do.
Kenny: We almost didn't make it out of there because of this asshole. Shoulda left him behind when we had the chance.
Omid: Guys, what the hell happened out there?
Kenny: Let someone else tell you, I got work to do.
Vernon: Okay, with a little luck you should start feeling better pretty soon. I'll stay here for a few more hours to check on him. Let me know if you need anything.
Omid: Thanks, doc.
Christa: Yes, thank you so much!
Vernon: Maybe now's a good time for you and me to have a little talk. In private.
Lee and Vernon leave the room.
Lee: Listen, man, about what happened to Brie...
Vernon: Don't beat yourself up over it, it was nothing you could have done.
Vernon: You want to know the worst part?
Lee: What?
Vernon: I don't feel much. I mean, I don't feel enough. Shouldn't I be broken up over what happened to her? That's how I was when I lost my daughter, when I lost my friends in those first few weeks...but now...it's like I just take something like this in stride. Like this is what our world is now, and we'd better just get used to it.
Lee: What did you wanna talk to me about?
Vernon: I know you care about Clementine. Anyone can see that. And I know you want what's best for her. But this plan of yours, putting everyone on a boat, with no destination...do you really think that's her best chance of finding somewhere where she can be safe? Because I don't. So I wanna make you an offer.
Lee: What kind of an offer?
Vernon: I'll take her off your hands. Take her back with me, to my people. We're well-supplied, well-hidden, and a lot of us have had kids of our own. And now Crawford's fallen, we got nothing left to fear from them. She'll be safe with us. Safer than she will be if she stays with you, I promise you. That's what you want for her, isn't it? To be safe?
Lee: I'm gonna pretend you didn't say any of this and give you the chance to walk away. Which you oughta do, right now.
You told Vernon off.
Vernon: I know you think you're doing what's best for her. And if you were her real father, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Vernon: But you're not. And staying with you is not what's best for her. If no one else around here will tell you that, then I will.
Lee slams Vernon against the wall.
Lee: That little girl's in my care. We've been through more together than you can imagine. Anyone who tries to get between me and her--anyone--is gonna wind up dead! You hear me?
Vernon: Take your hands off me.
Lee lets Vernon go.
Vernon leaves. Lee notices Clementine in the study.
Lee sees Molly about to walk down the stairs.
Lee: Hey. Going somewhere?
Molly: Yeah, I'm about to head out. I just wanted to say thanks. For everything. It's been fun.
Lee: What are you talking about? Kenny's working on the boat right now. I thought you were coming with us. God knows you've earned it.
Molly: Yeah, I've been thinking it over. It's not for me. Sounds like it'd be pretty crowded. And I never did like the water.
Lee: You sure about this?
Molly: I'm sure. I've always done better on my own anyhow.
Molly: Listen, I'm not much for goodbyes, tell the others for me?
Lee: Sure. You take care of yourself, Molly.
Molly: You too, Lee.
Molly and Lee hug.
Molly: And you be sure to take care of that little girl. You know she thinks the world of you.
Lee: Good luck.
Molly: Ain't nothing to do with luck.
Molly leaves.
Lee enters the study, where Clementine is sadly looking out the window.
Lee: Hey, sweet pea.
Clementine: Kenny's working on the boat.
Lee: I know.
Clementine: What are we going to do? After he fixes it? Where will we go?
Lee: Someplace else. Someplace better.
Lee: Clem, honey...what's wrong?
Clementine: Is Ben going to be okay? He doesn't seem the same, since he got back.
Lee: Ben's a good kid. I think he's just feeling guilty, about some of the decisions he's made. He's gotten to feeling like he's a burden on the rest of us.
Lee: Sure. We'll look before we leave.
You lied to Clementine.
Clementine: Really? You'll take me to Crawford so we can look? (Lee looks away) I knew you didn't really mean it.
Clementine starts sobbing.
Lee reaches out to Clementine, but stops, deciding to give her space.
Clementine lies down and turns away from Lee, still crying. Lee sets her radio on the desk and sits in the sofa. Lee wakes up some time later.
Lee: (yawns) Clementine...?
Clementine and the radio are gone.
Lee: Clementine?
Lee goes downstairs; it is empty, so he goes to the backyard.
Lee: Clementine? Clementine!
Lee notices her hat on the ground in front of the shed.
Lee: Oh, god.
Lee walks over to her hat and picks it up. He hears the radio crackle nearby, and climbs over the fence.
Lee: Clem...?
The radio is on the ground near a pile of junk. Lee either looks behind the trash bins or picks up the radio. Suddenly, a walker behind the bins lunges at Lee and bites his left arm. Lee pushes him against the fence, then stomps on his head. He puts the radio on his belt, then picks up Clementine's hat and notices a bite mark on his wrist.
Lee: No...no...oh, fuck.
Christa: Lee? Lee? You out here? Lee?
Christa, Kenny, Omid, and determinantly Ben leave the backyard and approach Lee.
Kenny: Are you crazy? What are you doing out here, it ain't safe!
Omid: Lee, where's Clementine? She's not in her room!
Kenny: Vernon ain't in the house either! What the hell is going on?
Christa: Whose blood is that?
Lee: It's mine.
You chose not to conceal your bite.
Lee shows the bite.
Christa: Oh, my god...
Kenny: No way. No. No fucking way.
Lee: There's no time to worry about me. Clementine's gone.
Omid: There's no chance she just wandered off on her own?
Lee: No. No way.
Kenny: Then who the hell took her?
Lee: I don't know. Last night Vernon came to me and offered to take her with him. Said she'd be better off.
Kenny: Son of a bitch. I knew we couldn't trust that fucker.
Lee: Wherever she is, I have to find her. Hey where the summer family and the twins?
Kenny: Left about an hour ago, Mark knew you would get bitten so they left before the kids seen the bite.
Lee: I don't know what to do here. I don't know if I can even ask for your help.
Omid: You're not thinking of going after her alone, are you?
Kenny: Sorry, partner, no dice. You've had my back every step of the way, no way I'm letting you do this alone. I'm sure Christa and Omid feel the same.
Omid: Lee, man...are you sure that's how you wanna do this?
Lee: I'm sure. This is on me, and no one else.
Christa: Lee, we're a team. That's how we've made it this far. We're not going to just abandon you.
Lee: Even now?
Christa: Especially now. You've earned that much.
Omid: Damn straight.
Christa: We're all responsible for Clementine. And in your condition, you may not make it to her in time. She needs our help. ALL of our help.
Omid: Damn right. We can't let you do this alone.
Christa: So that's settled then. We'll look for Clementine together.
Omid: Hell yeah. What're we waiting for?
Lee: Thanks, you guys. I appreciate it. Really.
Lee: Okay, guys. We should go find Vernon. See if he took her. Let's head out.
Kenny: What about the boat? We're just gonna leave it unguarded?
Christa: If someone was gonna take it, they'd have done it already. Besides, what choice do we have?
Lee and determinantly whoever went with him leave. (Cordelia: I like having everyone in the game to go with Lee... Since I found something to help me with this book I won't be using a YouTuber video)
Morgue
Lee and determinantly others go through the hole in the wall in the sewer and approach the morgue where the cancer group lived. Lee draws his gun and opens the door, but the room is empty.
Lee: Where the hell are they?
Kenny: Looks like they got out of here in a hurry.
Christa: Looks like they got out of here in a hurry.
Ben: This is where you found them before?
Lee: Uh-huh.
Lee: Vernon! Get out here! There doesn't have to be any trouble here, all I want is the girl! Give her back and nobody needs to get hurt!
Lee leans on one of the beds, his head in his hands. He hears walkers outside and sees them walk past the window. The radio crackles.
Clementine: Lee?
Lee: Clementine! Are you alright? Where are you? Vernon, you son of a bitch.
Stranger: Hello, Lee.
Lee: Vernon, put Clementine back on, I want to talk to her!
Stranger: This isn't Vernon. And you should really watch your tone.
(Whatever Lee chooses will only be said in the next episode.)
------
Cordelia: HassanAlHajry gameplay on the walking dead games isn't cool. They never side with Kenny, and all that shit they did in each of there video is a stupid choice
Cordelia: also if I get anything wrong I haven't played episode 4 yet because my xbox 360 never want to work
Cordelia: so using a wiki of each season and episode to help
Cordelia: Enjoy!
