THIRTY-EIGHT
Goodmorning all.
Today is March 2nd, 2157.
It is currently 8 AM.
The temperature outside is 26 degrees with a humidity of 43%.
The government is trying their best to find a solution to the virus that spreaded around the world, on January 1, 2156.
Scientists are getting closer each day.
The boys had gotten used to waking up like this.
They stirred around and sat up, already familiar with their surroundings.
"Morning!" Jimin's bubbly voice chimed, poking Taehyung's ribs which made him groan.
He quickly stood up and shuffled towards Jeongguk's bed, pulling the blankets off of him and grabbing a hold of his leg, pulling him out of bed.
The boy didn't have enough time to regain his balance and he stumbled off, hands saving him from hitting his ass on the floor just in time.
"Hey!" He laughed. They've grown used to his cheeky little stunts.
Jimin happily skipped towards a specific door, coming out with seven packages of food.
"Breakfast in bed everyone!" He smiled, handing Namjoon and Seokjin their share, teasing Taehyung by putting it on the ground far enough so he would have to get out of bed to reach it and he pondered about what he should do to Jeongguk next.
But, the dark haired male knew better, and he quickly snatched the package out of the blonde's hand.
Jimin giggled, sitting on the floor to eat his own meal.
It had been around a month since they entered the bunker. They had to get used to it at first, but luckily Jeongguk was there to show them how everything worked.
Namjoon guessed that the walkers they had to remove hadn't been in there for long, not even a week. Nearly all of the food that the bunker could possibly provide, was still there.
The bunker appeared to be one of the biggest bunkers out there. In total they would have enough food for the coming two years, for all five of them.
They could only wish they were still with seven.
The first two weeks had been incredibly tough on them. They had their time to mourn because of the losses, and everything else they had been through.
It gradually got better. They distracted themselves by playing some games, chatting, trying to see the positive side.
They were safe now.
And that's something they hadn't been able to say for a long time.
Sure, at some moments they had the chance to, but it wouldn't be for longer than a day, plus it used to be a statement said in uncertainty.
Now, it was a fact.
They were safe.
The system made sure to keep them up to date about everything that happened outside. The government was indeed getting closer and closer at finding a solution.
The boys could only hope it wouldn't take another two years.
But, for now, they really wouldn't have to worry about that.
Hours passed and soon enough it was evening once again. The boys found themselves sitting in a circle, a plastic bottle in the middle of it.
A situation that looked familiar.
"Namjoon! Truth or dare?" Jimin wiggled his eyebrows.
Namjoon chuckled. "Dare."
"Ooh~" Said a smirking Taehyung, glancing at Jimin and bending forward for a suggestion.
A small smirk tugged at Jimin's own lips, "I dare you to kiss the person you're the most attracted to."
Namjoon stilled, but he shrugged.
Before the other could comprehend the situation, Namjoon had his lips pressed on Seokjin's, whom slowly defrosted and kissed back.
The other three boys cheered, finally all of the built up tension between the two of them released.
It was Namjoon's turn to spin the bottle.
"Taehyung! Truth or dare?"
Jeongguk knew what he'd pick.
"Dare, obviously."
Namjoon glanced at Jeongguk, then back at Taehyung. He knew that the brunette was head over heels for him, and he knew the way they looked at each other.
"Ask Jeongguk to be your boyfriend."
Now this, this is what Taehyung didn't expect.
Neither of the two had.
Taehyung looked down after scanning Jeongguk's facial expressions.
He wasn't dumb.
He had seen it, a long time already.
"No." He started, swallowing the lump in his throat away. "I would love to. But I won't. I'm not blind. I see the way he looks at my best friend." Taehyung glanced at Jimin who went from utterly sad because of Namjoon's dare-suggestion to perplexed.
A small blush appeared on Jimin's face when Taehyung poked his cheeks. He made eye contact with Jeongguk, who was staring at him.
"Taehyung.. I don't know what to say apart from I'm sorry. I gave you the wrong idea. I was so confused with how I felt- it took me long to realize that my love for you isn't in a romantic way. And I'm really, really sorry for that. I know how you feel about me.." Jeongguk gulped, wanting to cry because of Taehyung's sad expression.
He hated seeing him like this. He hated seeing him in pain. Especially because of his doings.
Then, Taehyung laughed, shaking his head. He pushed Jimin towards the youngest, smiling through his hurting heart.
"Oh please, take care of that little rascal. As long as he won't be a pain in my ass anymore." Taehyung joked, remembering this morning and all the other mornings before that.
Jimin deserved it, though.
Jeongguk did aswell.
The male had saved Taehyung's life multiple times, he felt like he would be forever in debt. And if his feelings for Jimin were stronger than the feelings towards him, he wasn't going to be selfish.
He wanted to see his best friend happy, and he wanted to see Jeongguk happy too. Even if it wasn't with him.
Sure, it hurt like shit, and it was a hard pill to swallow. But he also knew that he would recover from it. It was just temporary, this pain.
Life goes on. Feelings change.
Jimin giggled, a smile taking over his lips. His heart began palpitating in his chest. Ever since they entered the bunker, he had been avoiding his feelings, suppressing them. He really thought Jeongguk and Taehyung would end up together.
'If it would make them happy, then I'm happy too.' Is what the blonde used to think.
But now, because of this silly little game, the entire thing changed.
Namjoon and Seokjin looked at each other wide eyed, but also relieved. It could've ended up in a heart broken Taehyung crying, leaving the room. But luckily the boy was more mature than that.
He just wanted everyone happy.
Namjoon chuckled.
"I'll spin it now!" Taehyung beamed, doing so.
The bottle every so slowly came to a halt, unfortunately at a place no one sat.
Taehyung pushed Jimin in the direction where bottle pointed at, forcing him to sit there.
It made everyone laugh.
"Jimin, truth or dare~?"
Jeongguk knew what he'd choose. They all did. Of course it was going to be-
"Dare." The boy whispered, shyly looking away.
Oh boy.
Another thing they didn't expect.
Taehyung smirked the biggest smirk he ever had, looking downright creepy at this point. And Jimin knew by looking at it, he was in for something big.
"Go to the bedrooms with Jeongguk and stay there locked in until we decide to get you guys out."
Jimin's eyes widened, he looked at Jeongguk who sat there with a small smirk on his own face.
His face heated up, but he nodded and stood up nonetheless.
It not like he didn't want it.
He did, he was just terribly shy in the other's presence.
Jeongguk walked ahead and Jimin followed him, the other three males taunted them by making sounds while they disappeared around the corner.
The youngest opened the door and stepped inside, letting Jimin enter and then he locked the door, just like Taehyung instructed them to.
He knew they were going to be in here for a while.
"Soooo.." Jimin started, sitting down on his bed.
Jeongguk stood in front of him, not sure what to do.
God, this was awkward.
"I really thought you didn't like me."
Jimin suddenly said, which made the other's eyebrows rise.
"You didn't notice the way I stare at you whenever I have the chance to? That whenever you do something, like those little stunts of yours in the morning, I smile like super widely? You don't notice the way that I-"
Jimin giggled cutely, interrupting him. He couldn't take it anymore.
"Please, just shut up and kiss me already."
Now it was Jeongguk's turn to stutter. Jimin was being straightforward and bold and he didn't expect it, but he was all in for it.
"Say less." With that, he made his way towards him, grabbing a gentle hold of his chin as if he was made of porcelain and could break any moment. They locked eyes and Jimin smiled brightly, leaning forward and locking their lips together.
Finally.
