Night patrols & the gang
AN: The backstories in this chapter are only based on their existing ones and only applies to this fic (as far as I'm aware), some things will be changed.
It had been three weeks now. Three weeks since he had regained control over his body, or at least some control over his body.
He should have known that regaining full control immediately was too good to be true. That he gained control during the night was already a miracle. The fact that the abomination seemed unaware of him even more so. If that thing did know about the switch in control that occurred at night it would have done something about it. If it knew, it would most likely try to destroy him again.
So he was still trapped. The only difference was that instead of his mind it was his mansion that was the prison cell. Not that it really could be called his mansion, it was that abomination that had made it. One it had also filled with certified killers.
Typical.
Just typical.
But while he might call them certified killers, he would admit to feeling sympathy and companionship with them
They where all doomed by circumstance outside of their control. And, in slightly different ways, they where now all prisoners to that abomination. They where killers (at least most of them) and they worked for that abomination, but he knew that they had no real choice then to take his orders. They merely did what they had to do in order to survive as there was no one in the multivers that would help them if they asked for it.

Horror only killed out of desperation and hunger. He did all he could to keep his brother alive, only to fail in the end. The only difference between him and other 'good' sanses being the lengths he would go to in order to let Papyrus live. He sacrificed morality for the life of his brother and himself. That was more then what could be said for others, they only stood there and watched their brothers get killed. They kept their morality at the sacrifice of family. Yet, they called his actions horrible, branding it his name.
Killer was a victim to manipulation, his Chara was so skilled in the manipulation of emotions that they managed to turn him into a killer. His emotions where twisted in such a fashion that insanity took him, and when it left he found himself drowning in guilt. Killer had tried to go back, to seek forgiveness for the things he had been forced to do. But where every Frisk (and Swap!Chara) had been quickly forgiven, he was condemned. Killer became the scapegoat of all Chara's actions and he was forced to leave his AU for good. The one responsible got away, while the victim was branded a killer, which then also became his name.
Dust had been driven to the brink of insanity by watching his friends and family die over and over again. He began to see death as an impossible fate to avoid. With each reset Chara killed using more and more painful methods. Seeing Chara as being unstoppable, Dust did the only thing he knew he could do in order to save everyone from the pain. He gave them all a swift death, sparing them from Chara's cruel hands. Giving this mercy to his brother, however, caused his sanity to tip over the edge. His insanity gave away to a rage, to one moment of determination high enough to strip Chara of her control of the timeline at the time of her death. Chara perished for good, but Dust's AU was left unable to reset. All that was left was dust, of which he took his name.
Cross was the odd one out of them all, he found himself content as his AU was a happy one. The AU was an odd one, as it did not feature resets. Instead it had overwrite, the power to change anything about the AU. Cross's father had used this power to try to create the perfect AU, but he always found himself unsatisfied with his work. He redid the AU multiple times, remaking even who the people inhabiting it where at their very core. The Chara and Frisk of they AU (the only ones not created by the power of overwrite besides Gaster) grew tired of all the times the AU changed and the people they befriended became strangers. The tried to take the power from him, only to have it split in two. Both were left with half the power in what became the tenth timeline\version, the one in which Cross came to be. Chara\Frisk and Gaster battled it out for the right to recreate the AU in the way they saw as being the perfect one. Meanwhile, Cross only wanted it to remain as it was, not caring for perfection in the slightest. Cross interwiened, he tried to take the power of overwrite to keep his AU from being recreated again. But he failed, beings created by overwrite where not meant to wield it. Chara (being only a ghost) combined with Cross as a part of his soul in order to wield the power. But as Chara was the stronger of the two when it came to the power of overwrite, they managed to use it to recreate the AU one last time. What neither knew however, was that the power of creation caused by overwrite finally overwelmed the AU, causing it to colapse in on itself. All that was left was a blank void, only Cross\Chara where left. And that isolation made him fall into a deep depression, leading him to be found and recruted by the abomination. He was only trapped here because his path crossed the abomination's, this is why he became known as Cross (partially, at least).

All four of them lived in the mansion, there was always a chance that he would run in to one of them at night. He did not let it bother him though, he could hide in the shadows that filled the mansion if he wanted to. It was no problem.
Now though, he had finally decided what to do with his free nights. He would use them to treat the members of the gang of their injuries. The abomination was not afraid to use pain as a punishment for failed missions, and the mansion lacked anyone with healing capabilities. As the prince of negativity he might not be as good at healing as his brother, but he knew how to do it.
He knew that they could survive on there own and that he was a stranger to them, but he had watched them from the start and he knew them in a way. They where the closest thing to friends he had, and was'nt that just sad.
Because he had never meet them face to face before, hed decided to heal them when they where asleep. If they woke up, he could just claime to be the one brought in to do the healing or something.
Quietly he finnally reached his destination for the night, Cross's room. It would be safest to start here.
Taking a deep breath, he entered.
