Chapter 1

AN// Enjoy! Comment maybe, lemme know whatcha think etc.

It hurt.

That's all she thought as she dragged herself home, not even closing her front door. A few steps past the threshold she collapsed, falling unconscious, short spiky blond hair splayed out lie a dimmed halo.

When she woke up, she wasn't in her apartment. She was standing in a sewer, the water coming up to her ankles. She didn't know where she was, or what was happening, so she started walking towards the red glow.

She doesn't remember how long she walked, but she never got tired so she kept going. The closer she got to the light, the louder a deep rumble grew. There was something at the end of the tunnel, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to see it. However, having nothing else to do nowhere else to go, she pressed onward.

She let out a tiny sharp gasp as suddenly she was in front of a huge gate as big as the Hokage monument. There was a tiny piece of paper in the middle that read "Seal". The rumbling was almost deafening. Her blond spikes dipped as she tilted her head, taking a few steps forward.

She shrieked as a large claw struck out, and she fell back, eyes wide.

"So, my pathetic jailer visits."

The voice was rough, gravelly, demonic, and loud. It was scary, but she had faced worse. She tried to get a good view of the creature in the 'jail' "Jailer? Voice-san, I am too young to work in a prison. I've never met you."

A menacing chuckle rumbled like thunder through the tunnel. "You have kept me prisoner since the day you were born." The voice grew angry. "I did nothing to deserve this imprisonment."

She furrowed a brow. "What do people think you did?" She was confused. The voice sounded scary, angry, hateful. And how had she been keeping them prisoner unknowingly? Her blue eyes flitted up to the paper that read 'seal'.

"I attacked the village Konohagakure eleven years ago under the control of Uchiha Madara."

Naruto gasped, blue eyes widening in shock. "I have Kyuubi sealed inside me." It was more of a statement than a question, for as she spoke the voice stepped out of the shadows. A huge fox, with large rabbit-like ears and crimson eyes burning with century-old hatred. A blood-thirsty grin adorned its face.

"Yes. I am the Mighty Kyuubi no Kitsune. Humans are mere ants to me, and one day I will crush you beneath my claw."

Such hatred rang through its voice, and all she wanted to do was help. So she mustered up her courage and gave the Kyuubi a shaky smile. "I am Uzumaki Naruto, and I don't care what you want to do with me. I will become your friend Kyuubi-san!"

The beast scoffed, laying down and crossing its front paws. "Foolish human. Get out of my sight before I kill you."

Naruto just smiled as her form faded.

She woke up face down on the floor, the pain that had been so prominent having already become a dull ache, easily ignorable. She moved around slowly, mind still catching up to the past ten hours. She had cup ramen in her hand when it hit her. The broth splashed across the floor and the noodles spilled asher grip slipped.

A grin. Drunk obviously, but strong.

A hit to the head, dazed. He's too strong.

Stop.

Stop. Stop Please.

She started to shake uncontrollably before running to the bathroom. She had no hot water but she didn't care. Freezing water pelted her body as she scrubbed furiously, tears the only warm thing in the shower.

She was cold.

When she got out, her lips were blue. Her skin bright red from the furious scrubbing. She dressed mechanically and looked at the time. She didn't want to go to the academy, but she didn't want Iruka-sensei to come by.

She leapt from rooftop to rooftop, quickly making her way to the academy. She entered the classroom quietly, edging towards the back. She knew Iruka had noticed, but just sat down and put her head down.

She was still shaking.

"N-Na-Naruto-ku-kun? Ar-are you o-okay?" Naruto turned her head in her arms, looking at the indigo-haired girl. She was blushing furiously, but looked concerned. Naruto smiled shakily.

"Ye-" She cleared her throat. "Yeah." No. Hinata didn't look convinced, and Naruto tried as hard as she could to not break down and curl up into a ball. She buried her head back into her arms, digging her nails into her skin in an attempt to stop the shaking.

The only way to stop this from happening again would be to not be a girl. A naive thought, but to Naruto, it made her feel safer. Most people already thought she was a boy, but maybe confirming it would put a subconscious 'no' thought in any drunk man's head.

Class was background noise as Naruto constantly focused on not having a panic attack. She felt weak and lightheaded. All she wanted to do was curl up and cry, something she didn't do often anymore.

Lunch came and she didn't move. She flinched heavily when her shoulder was tapped, her head flying up as her body jerked away from the touch. She met the concerned lilac eyes of Hinata, who was still blushing, but less so.

"Na-Naruto-kun, di-did you for-forget your lu-lunch?"

Naruto nodded. Hinata held out her bento. "We-we ca-can share?" She offered shyly. Naruto hesitantly nodded, taking a riceball. She took a bite.

"Than-" Dammit. Her voice kept breaking. "Thanks, Hinata-chan. It's really good."

Hinata smiled. "Re-"

Naruto felt a jolt in her stomach. She felt sick. She shot up and ran out of the room, a hand over her mouth. She flew into the bathroom, a utility she had never used at the academy, going before academy and holding it until after.

She slammed the stall open and threw up. Most of it was stomach acid, while the rest was the bit of rice ball she had just eaten. She slumped over, laying her face on the cool tile of the floor. She looked at her hand.

Shaking.

"Na-Naruto! Are you o-okay!?" Naruto felt herself being lifted and leaned against the wall. It was Hinata.

"So-" Naruto leaned over the toilet, retching. "Sorry, Hinata. Your riceball was really good, I'm just not f-f-feeling good today."

Tears had started to flow, and Naruto curled in on herself, choking on her sobs. A small, delicate hand rubbed her back. 'I-it's okay Na-naruto-kun. Di-did something ha-happen?"

Naruto clutched Hinata, sobbing harder. She told Hinata all that she remembered, even the part about Kyuubi. Hinata listened, crying with her. When Naruto finished, she just laid there limply in Hinata's arm.

"Shhh, Na-Naruto-chan. I-I'm sorry th-that ha-happened. I-I'm her-here for you. I'm go-going to tell se-sensei you are go-going home be-because you don't feel well."

Hinata stood and left quickly, coming back two minutes later. "Com-come on Na-Naruto-chan. I-I will walk you ho-home."

Naruto let herself be led out of the bathroom and out of the academy. She felt cold.

Looking at Hinata, a flicker of warmth growing. Maybe she'd be okay.

One month later she leaned over the toilet in her apartment, retching. She had been throwing up every morning for a week, and hated it. She had told Hinata and all that she had been able to do was give her a herb to reduce nausea.

She was glad it was a weekend. She crawled back in bed, curling up on her left side. She blinked and found herself in a sewer. She began the journey to the seal, getting there faster than last time.

"There you are human."

"You called me here? Why?" Naruto asked, looking into the Kyuubi's crimson eye. An orange tail whipped around, pointing to something to the side.

"You are a kit. I was wondering why a kit would have another one growing inside you."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, looking at what the tail pointed at. There was a blue mist inside of a golden orb floating in the corner. "What is that?"

"It's a kit. A child. How did a child end up with a child?"

Naruto's eyes slowly widened as she began to understand what the orb was. "I'm pregnant?! I'm elev-" She froze, soon starting to shake. This was her PTSD. When remembering what happened she would shake and grow less and less responsive. Usually, Hinata was there to stop it before it got going.

The blond fell to her knees, clutching her stomach. Kyuubi watched in confusion as the human child started hyperventilating. "Human?"

He watched as she didn't even register his voice. She was going into a panic attack, and the walls of the tunnel began to shake. Kyuubi's eyes narrowed as he sensed something nearing his container. He reached a claw out to poke (possibly maim) the child. He growled as a yellow barrier shocked him. He shivered as a chill settled through the tunnel.

Cold? A flicker of warmth, and his host faded, an invisible person pulling her into their arms and out of the seal. He stared at where she had sat before his eyes flickered to the slowly growing flame. The pieces clicked and even he, the mightiest and most ruthless of the Bijuu, felt repulsed by whoever had done such a cursed thing to a kit. Killing them was different than rape. Death was a mercy compared to that.

The Kyuubi began to slowly, at a painful pace, slip his chakra through the seal and towards a door. He wanted to view the humans' memories.

Naruto came to in Hinata's arms. It was like she had a sense for when Naruto was having an attack.

"Hello Na-naruto. Are you okay n-now?" Her timid voice had grown a little stronger when talking to Naruto, though she was still shy.

Naruto shook her head. "Hina-Hinata... I just found out from Kyuubi-san that I am pregnant..."

Hinata gasped. She was mature and smart, but she was still eleven, and she knew eleven-year-olds weren't supposed to get pregnant. She knew about the reproduction process due to kunoichi classes, and that as long as a female was fertile they could get pregnant, but Naruto is eleven.

Hinata felt a huge disgust towards the unknown rapist. More so than usual. Hinata eased Naruto up from the floor. "You'll be o-okay Naruto-chan. Here, I b-brought some melon bread a-and miso soup."

Naruto sat down at the table and sipped the water Hinata placed next to her. "Thank you Hinata-chan."

"I-it's no problem. I'm s-sorry I couldn't get here in t-time to prevent the ata-attack."

Naruto just sighed. "Well, I guess I need to look on the bright side. I'm going to have family!" Her blue eyes sparkled in genuine happiness. Hinata smiled. Genuity was rare from the blond lately.

"I'm happy for you. But yo-you need a stable envi-environment for a child."

Naruto sighed. "I know. I don't know anything about raising kids, and I wasn't raised by anyone so..." She slumped in her chair, hair splayed out in a golden halo. It was getting longer, and she needed to cut it soon.

"We can look it u-up. Go to the civ-civilian library under a tran-transformation jutsu."

Naruto smiled at the girl who'd saved her from shattering. "Yeah, let's do that."

Two months later Naruto really began showing. Especially since she was a thin girl. She started wearing baggy clothes and being careful to guard her stomach in spars. She'd started wearing a transformation around town, trying to find a job.

She was coming back from the hospital as Rin, her transformation, and was on her way to meet up with Hinata and head to the library again. They'd been going every Saturday, reading as much as they could about babies and families and how to raise a child.

Hinata had sewn a life sized baby ragdoll filled with the average weight of a baby, so Naruto could practice holding a baby correctly. Naruto was extremely thankful to her best friend, who had hardly left her side the past few months.

They were leaving the library when they a questioning voice sounded from behind them,

"Naruto, Hinata? What are you two doing walking around under a transformation?"

The two jolted in shock, turning around to face a confused looking Iruka-sensei. Hinata took control, careful to keep her stutter under control.

"What do you mean Shinobi-san? I'm Kiyomi Nikojima, and this is my friend Rin Mafuyu." How did he know it was them?

"Really? Then why do your chakra signatures match those of my two students? And there's a third... It's so small. Naruto, are you hiding Akamaru from Kiba?"

'Rins' Eyes widened. "Shinobi-san, what third signature? It's just me and Kiyomi-chan here." She started to shake lightly, and 'Kiyomi' discreetly placed a hand on the small of 'Rins' back. Rin took a deep breath.

"Naruto Uzumaki. You have ten seconds before I take you to Lord Hokage to explain why you and Hinata are under a transformation in your own village." Iruka's voice was stern, layered with a hint of confused exasperation.

Naruto's anxiety spiked, and she clutched her stomach as nausea took over. She felt herself trembling, even under Hinata's touch. " 'nata." She murmured, breath short as she tried to stop shaking. She hadn't had an attack in two weeks, she didn't want to have one now.

Hinata bowed to Iruka. "I apologize, sensei, for lying, but we have to go. Come on Rin, take it ea-easy." Hinata began to rub Naruto's back, whispering sweet nothings in an attempt to calm the trembling girl down.

Iruka watched as his favorite student shook like a leaf in the wind, concern flooding him. He followed after the two via rooftop, curious as to why Naruto was showing signs of PTSD. He channeled chakra to his ears, reassuring himself that it was fine because he was concerned.

"Na-naruto-chan, It's okay. No one's here. It's okay." He watched through the window, as Naruto collapsed to her knee, clutching Hinata's clothes. Their transformations dropped, and Iruka had a clearer view of the two.

Naruto look so small curled up in Hinata's arms, shaking and crying. "I'm so-sorry Hinata-chan. I hav-hav-haven't had an attack in-in weeks, and no-now..."

Hinata just soothed the blond. "It's okay Naruto-chan. Everything is okay. It was just Iruka-sensei, and he's trustworthy. He's not him. Why don't you go inside your mind for a bit. Try to make a friend."

Iruka watched Naruto nod before becoming still. For an hour he watched Hinata move about, shifting the blond onto the couch and cleaning up. Watched as Hinata tenderly wiped Naruto's tear tracks and made soup. He watched Naruto wake up looking better, no longer shaking.

"Did you two talk?" Hinata asked, and Iruka idly wondered who the two was. Naruto and who?

"Yeah. He's still being a big grump. 'Rawr, I'll kill you one day human. Rawr." It was amusing. He kicked me out though once I started talking about my little flame." Naruto sounded innately happy when she said 'Her little flame', And Iruka found himself more confused.

One, Naruto was a girl? Iruka had assumed Naruto was a boy. The blond dressed like one, spoke like one, acted like one, and never denied shouts of 'Hey man!' from Kiba. Two, Hinata and Naruto were close? He had never noticed them being all that close. Hinata had obviously had a crush on Naruto, but when did that become this? Three, who was the person Narut-

Iruka froze. 'Rawr, I'll kill you one day human. Rawr.'

Was Naruto- no. Was she? There's no way she was in contact with Kyubi. And what was Naruto's little flame? Iruka badly wanted answers.

"-ruka-sensei. I trust him. You're right Hinata-chan. He's basically my big brother. Will-will you help me tell him? Just in case I have another attack."

"Of course Naruto-chan."

Against his better judgement, he leapt down and knocked on the front door.

Naruto tilted her head at the knock, glancing at Hinata, who turned on her Byakugan. "It-it's Iruka-sen-sensei..." She murmured. Naruto's eyes widened before taking a deep breath.

"Well, I guess I better answer the door, huh?" She pushed past Hinata and opened the door, pushing down her nerves.

"Sensei! Hey. What are you doing here?"

"I-uh, I was worried. You looked sick earlier and I wanted to check up on you. So, a-are you okay?" He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He was worried, as there were a lot of things he suddenly did not know about his admittedly favored student.

"Well uh, um, I'm kinda not okay, but like, I will be? It's-it's hard to explain. Um, Why-why don't we si-sit?" Her voice shook, and her hand clutched Hinata's arm a little tighter.

Iruka nodded, and the trio moved to sit on the small, lumpy couch. Naruto had visibly broken out in a nervous sweat, her eyes resting on the hand she had wrapped tightly around Hinata's arm. Hinata herself was doing her best to keep Naruto grounded.

Naruto took a shaky deep breath, glancing up briefly at Iruka's face, twisted in concern and worry.

"About-About three months ag-ago, I was comin-coming home from tra-training. I was-was tired, and a man, I do-don't remember wh-who, was drunk. He-he-he-" Naruto stopped, other hand squeezing the cushion as hard as she could.

Iruka felt horror spread through him like ice in his veins. He restrained his anger, not wanting to make the already upset girl more so.

"He-he, He wouldn't stop! I-I-I got ho-home after I wo-woke up, and got cleaned. I be-became friends with Hinata-chan the next day. She helps me-me with my PSTD. I mean, PTSD. Two-two months ag-ago, I fou-found out from Kyuubi-san tha-that I was um, well." Iruka watched as her grip loosened and tightened around the fist full of cushion. He watched as she forced herself to relax, or well, tried to, and she pulled her baggy shirt up just enough to reveal her slightly extended stomach.

Shock hit him harder than the horror, and he struggled to stop himself from raging. Instead he slowly moved forward to embrace the quivering blond. He did it slowly, hesitating when Naruto flinched initially, before she reached out and shakily wrapped her arms around her pseudo older brother. As soon as his strong arms were around her, she clutched his shirt, sobbing.

Iruka felt the sting of fresh tears and found himself blinking rapidly as tears began to flow down his face. He bit his lip and held his student close. He'd set aside the matter of the Kyuubi for another time.

None of them knew how long they sat like that, Naruto clutching Iruka's shirt in one hand, Hinata's arm in the other, Hinata sitting there patiently, and Iruka holding Naruto close. None of them cared, even when Hinata's arms ached, and Iruka's back grew stiff.

Two weeks passed, and it was time for the Taijutsu lessons. Kyuubi-san was being rather talkative, commenting on her 'shitty' form and all that. She was ready to snap. She had found a job as 'Rin', at a daycare for shinobi parents who couldn't find babysitters, (Or didn't trust new genins). She took the noon to midnight shift on weekends and the four to three night shift on weekdays. She was saving up every ryo for a better home.

She stretched as Mizuki-sensei called for practice matches. She knew who she'd be placed against (again), and readied herself for a glorified beating. She always made sure to protect her stomach even if it meant losing.

Eventually it was her turn. "Uchiha Sasuke versus Uzumaki Naruto!"

The blond dragged herself into the ring, muttering fouly as Kyuubi tortured her with a story about a rampage he went on a hundred years ago. She dodged a fist aimed at her face and blocked the hidden kick to her stomach, jumped over the leg sweep, and backflipped away from the handspring launch that would have dazed her for sure.

"-d there was this one human, he decided to throw a huge ass-WATCH OUT"

Naruto cursed as she realized there was a foot heading for her stomach. Her eyes slowly widened as her mind blanked and she almost started shaking. Almost but not quite because as she reflexively closed her eyes she felt her body move of its own accord and a hand grabbed the foot, other hand bracing against the leg as she spun him around and threw Sasuke onto the dirt, before climbing on top of him and holding a fist above his face.

She had beat him.

"You're welcome. Now, I need a nap. That took a surprisingly large amount of energy. Be grateful, human."

Naruto numbly stood as the match was called. She walked over to a nearby tree and slid down it.

"You... took control of my body?" No reply. She felt an immense gratitude, and tried to convey it as best as possible. She had frozen in shock, having been distracted by the very being that helped her.

"You know, talking to yourself leads to all sorts of questions." She looked up and saw Nara Shikamaru, one of her classmates.

"Shikamaru. What do you mean?" She really hoped she could play it off.

"'Took control of my body'. That means there is another being separate from you, or another personality, inside you." His brown eyes drifted over her lazily, obviously taking in her baggy clothes, her clenched fists, and the almost fearful look in her eye. Almost like a caged animal.

"Heh, you shouldn't look so deeply into things Shikamaru. I just like having a friend in my head. Makes it less lonely. I like to accuse my moments of greatness towards the friend." Naruto felt like slapping herself, if only to stop the slight twitching that her hands were doing.

Shikamaru had just gained a good deal of knowledge on Uzumaki Naruto. Baggy clothes, different from those of a month ago, the caged look that showed up when the 'boy' was uncomfortable or scared. The shaking, and heavy breathing, hedging towards panic or anxiety signs, with a possibility of being linked to PTSD. The 'friend' in 'his' head. He had watched his match. The entire time he protected his abdomen, possible sore muscles from training, but he'd been doing it for the past few matches. He had then got distracted by something and almost got kicked in the abdomen. He had watched him close his eyes, ready but desperate not to get hit. He had watched as his hand came up, eyes still closed, and took out Sasuke freaking Uchiha, the number one student.

Conclusion; not yet reached.

"Meh. Maybe you're right." He was interested in 'him' now.
