"Where... am I? How long has it been...?"
Slowly opening his eyes, it seems like everything on his body are running just fine, but he is not so entirely sure about that. He tilts his head to look around.
"Nothing but green..."
In his memory, green is a precious color to him, but in his eyes now are the green of shrubs, moss and vines. To the point that even the sky is even barely visible.
He struggled to get up from all of that. Take a quick look at his body. It is still intact, though it is a bit worn. It was inevitable, he was in hibernation state for who knows how long.
"I have to go back there soon... He is waiting for me in the Shelter"
==============
It has been six days since he woke up, and his destination is still far away. The Shelter seems to be further than Ryoken remembers. Surrounding him are just the same walls of green. Fortunately for him, food and energy sources abundant.
"It's about time I find the next meal, or else I can't make it out of here."
"Chirp!"
"....?"
Something that cought his attention in the bush ahead, he takes a step forward to inspect the sound. Open up the bush, he sees a small yellow bird struggling within.
"...."
"Chirp"
"Are you injured...? Sorry, but I'm going to have to eat you."
The bird does not seem to care it was going to be eaten, but it looks at him, chirping, as if pleading for something
"...?"
"This is... a man-made trap? And it's still new... could it be..?"
He looks at it for awhile, and made up his mind. Looks like Ryoken will be eating something else today. Using his strength, he can easily open up the trap.
"....Go, don't get caught again"
The bird then quickly flew away.
=========
The sky turned dark really fast, or is it Ryoken feels like it. He lit up a fire and sit down a long with some jungle fruit he found earlier. Looking at the fire, he lets out a sigh
"Yusaku..."
Ryoken then hear the familiar chirp again. Seems like the little bird returned to its saviour, and it shows no caution toward him at all.
"Huh... So you remembered me."
Ryoken tried to approach it with a fruit he picked up. He tossed it to the bird, since he has no strength left to stand up now. It ate the fruit very quickly, Ryoken looks at it, somehow he feels like his mind is at ease, then eats his part of the meal as well.
Then night comes, Ryoken looks at the bird which is sleeping soundly beside him. It's funny how a tiny bird can makes him see the walls of green around him a bit less dull. Looking at it, Ryoken begins to feel sleepy as well, that's it for today.
