Epilogue
*It is getting colder and darker; leaves are falling from the trees. There is a chill in the air overnight, frost on the ground in the morning, mist and fog in the air. Dry, dead leaves crunch beneath your feet and clouds appear when you breathe out*
Jake slammed his fist into the wall hard as he stood in the hallway of the medical college, seething with fury and disappointment. He's heard the news just now and was absolutely consumed by rage after finding out that Sohee the girl he had longed for and adored, the one he envisioned his entire future with, had been promised to someone else, someone who wasn't him.
His knuckles were already aching from the impact of his fist against the cold, unyielding wall, but it was nothing compared to the pain that festered within his heart, a pain so intense it seemed to engulf him entirely.
Jake clenched his jaw tightly, his knuckles whitening from the sheer intensity of his grip on the medical college hallway wall. The veins on his forearms protruded as his muscles strained, his entire body trembling with bottled up anger, frustration and a deep sense of betrayal.
He had given his all to their relationship, investing his time, energy and emotions into building a future together - only to be blindsided and discarded like a used item. It felt like a stab to the heart, a wound that was refusing to heal.
"This can't be happening," he muttered to himself through clenched teeth.
"Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go" 🍂
