Two months later.

She lay in her bed, her arms clutching around herself.

This can't be happening.

The sheer reality of the situation had now hit her with the force of a truck.

I have to bring up my child without him. Our child.

And... if he doesn't come back?

What the hell am I supposed to do?

Please don't do this to me. Please.

I don't want you to leave me. Leave us.

I'll never forgive you. And neither will our child.

She sobs, her pillow soaking up her tears that flowed into it. A warm breath fans against her neck, and her eyes snap open.

No.

She turns around, her face meeting the flawless one of her husband laying down next to her. Her eyes squeeze shut, and she opens them again to meet the same doe eyes.

Why aren't you going away?

"Hey."

His soft voice echoes through the room, muffled and distant like she was underwater, drifting further and further away from him. She lets out a wavering sigh, another stray tear escaping her eyes.

"Please. Please, just-"

"I'm here. I'm right here, Bee."

Her heart clenches at the nickname, and she attempts to shuffle away from him.

"No, you're not."

His arm snaps up, clasping her wrist in his fingers that she couldn't feel wrapped around her. She whimpers as he pulls her close, resting his head against her chest.

Her lower lip disappears between her teeth as her eyes squeeze shut.

You don't know how badly I want you here, next to me right now.

I want to hold you, feel you, embrace you and tell you that I love you.

Her fingers instinctively disappear into his hair, running her hands through it, wishing she could feel his silky locks run through her fingers. Her breath halts when he pushes himself lower down her body, stopping as his breath hits her stomach.

She stares down at him as he presses his lips against her stomach. She whimpers, wishing she could feel his lips against hers, against every part of her body.

He stares back up at her, his skin glowing under the light of her lamp.

"Take care of our child."

She shakes her head, chest heaving.

"Don't say that. Don't act like you aren't coming back."

He just gazes back up at her, his eyes turning down, a layer of sadness coating his glossy orbs.

She closes her eyes, wiping her raging tears away. A cold wind blows over her body when her hands brushes against the empty space beside her. The room was shrouded in darkness and she shoots up in a sitting position, frantically looking around her.

"W-why did you go?"

She asks, staring at the silent room. Her lips begin to tremble, as goosebumps travel over her body from the icy cold that takes the place of his warmth.

"Come back."

She whispers, slowly lowering herself back down and curling up into a ball. She lays in the pit that has become her world, the only decorations were her own nail marks on the walls she cannot scale.

She winces, the regular feeling in her abdomen forcing her to push herself out of bed and tread to the toilet to pee.

She stares at herself in the mirror, eyes travelling her dishevelled hair, the dark circles evident beneath her eyes and stopping on the little baby bump that peeks out from her shirt.

She runs her hand over it, closing her eyes.

Can you hear me, little baby?

If you do, then please listen to me very carefully.

Forgive him. Forgive me...

I-If he doesn't come back, just know that he's the best gift anyone could ever receive.

If he comes back, I know you'll love him just as much as I do.

We'll make many memories together. Happy and sad ones.

I'm afraid, so afraid that I won't be able to do this. I don't know how to be a mother, I can't even take care of myself.

Her eyes slowly peel open, her lips trembling as she stares at the little bump.

Go easy on me, okay?

Your father probably knows you exist now.

Do you think he's happy? Is he sad? Is he disgusted?

Did he smile? Was he shocked? Did he cry? Or did he throw the paper away in repulse?

You probably don't understand anything I'm even saying right now.

Her jaw drops open as she gasps, her hand clutching her stomach at the feeling of a kick pushed inside her. Her sadness withers for a moment, as her chest heaves while she looks down at her belly.

So you do hear me. Don't be so violent!

She looks back to the mirror, startling when the figure of her smiling husband stands behind her with his arms wrapped around her, his large palms resting on her stomach.

"It's a boy." He echoes, and she replies.

"H-how do you know that?"

"Boys kick more."

She nibbles on her lower lip.

"Girls can kick too."

Her breath hitches when she sees his reflection bend down, planting his lips on her neck. She looks to the side, and sees no-one beside her.

Not wanting to look back into the mirror, she walks back into their once shared room to see him sitting on the edge of the bed, swinging his legs with a bunny-like grin spread across his face.

"You look cute with a baby belly." He chimes, and she closes her eyes.

Why are you here to torture me more than I already am?

She treads back to the empty bed and sits down on the edge, rubbing her eyes in exhaustion before laying flat on her back.

His voice echoes through her eyes once more.

"I'm here. I'm right here, Bee."

No... No, you're not.

"I'm here, Eunbi."

No, you're not.

"Eunbi, I'm right-"

"NO, YOU'RE NOT!" She yells, her voice ringing through the silent, empty room.

"You're not here for me when I need you the most. You're not fucking here."

She says, her hands falling helplessly by her sides as she stares at the ceiling, tears threatening to leave her eyes once more.

"You're not here for us when we need you the most."

She's greeted by silence.

"Why don't you speak up now?" She mutters, eyes darting around the room.

"Why do you always leave me? Huh?" Her voice raises.

"You say you're here for me, but where are you now?!" She yells, her eyes squeezing shut, not bothering if her voice is carried out of the open window and into the street below.

"I'm right here."

Her eyes snap open at the proximity of his voice. He didn't sound far away and distant. He sounded real, so very real. Her eyes meet his dark ones that hover over her.

"I'm here, Eunbi."

The same sentence leaves his lips and she sniffles.

I love the feel of your arms, your touch, your embrace, but it kills me, because I can't feel it now. I get lost in your eyes, happy to drown miserably in them.

His lips meet hers, but she whimpers at the feeling of kissing air.

Just take me, take me away. I want to be with you.
