🌹The Front Lines🌹
A high pitched scream resonates through the neighborhood, and birds fly away from their nests in fear.
Eunbi stares at her naked body in her full sized mirror with bulging eyes. She runs her fingers across the dark tattoos imprinted on her pale skin.
"This has to be a prank."
She talks to herself, still horrified as she looks at the huge tattoo of a hand sticking out it's middle finger on the side of her waist.
Flames rose up her neck, inscribing the words "Bad Bitch" and had little roses on each of her knuckles. Her eyes didn't fail to notice the silver ring that glittered on her belly button either.
A coiled snake sat around her belly button, and had its body slithering up hers, stopping in the valley between her breasts with its forked tongue sticking out.
"How many did you fucking get?!"
Eunbi yells at herself, staring in the mirror like she was accusing someone else.
She groans, covering her eyes and turning around to walk away when she catches another thing in her reflection. Her jaw drops open, and her hand shoots up to cover her mouth as she stares at her ass cheeks in the mirror.
There were two letters, one imprinted on each cheek in a flowy, cursive font.
'JK'
"No, no, no, no, no, this can't be possible. I'm dreaming."
She pinches herself and winces as her lips tremble.
"I can never have sex again!"
She whines, staring into her face in the mirror. Her hand rises to hit her head twice as she says through gritted teeth.
"You idiot! You're never getting high will Ellen ever ag-"
She stops abruptly in her sentence, and gapes at herself in the mirror before parting her quivering lips to whisper.
"Ellen."

"Rise and shine, men! You're being transferred today!"
The officer walks through the camp tent, banging on a utensil with a spatula.
Jungkook sits up from the hard bunker bed with a groan, almost stepping off the bed before realizing he was on the upper bunker.
"Bastard, you almost stepped on my fucking head!"
His bunker mate from below yells, and Jungkook mutters a 'sorry' before everyone gets in line.
"Let me repeat myself."
The officer says, standing in between the lines formed on either side of the room, the soldiers standing with their chests puffed out, looking straight ahead.
"This troop is being transferred to the front lines."
He states, and the men stay silent for a moment before remembering their protocols. They salute together, before shouting.
"Yes sir!"
(A/N: I've only seen this in movies 💀 don't come after me.)
Jungkook stays frozen in his spot, as he stares ahead of him.
"Pack your things and get moving."
The officer yells, clapping his hands as the soldiers put their belongings that consisted of only inner wear and toothbrushes with toothpaste.
Those were their basic necessities, and survival food would be given to them to use only when they were at their bare minimum.
A million thoughts ran through Jungkook's mind as he stuffed his belongings into his bag.
The front lines. It's the only position where 60% of soldiers are attacked and killed because it's right on the border.
This shit is getting more serious than I thought.
Wait, that means... that means I'll be seperated from Jimin.
Jungkook begins to panic, as he looks at the time.
5:10 a.m
I have to tell him.
They had five minutes before they would board the van, and so he dashes out of their section, running down the barely lit path. He makes it past the sleeping officer and barges into the tent of Section B.
His eyes scan each snoring figure until he notices the tuft of blonde hair sticking out from underneath the blanket. Jungkook shakes Jimin abruptly and the man startles, his fists closing tight, ready to punch whoever was disturbing him.
"Jimin! It's me!"
Jungkook whisper yells, and Jimin relaxes, squinting to look at Jungkook while rubbing his eyes.
"What the hell?"
Jimin replies in a raspy voice.
"Jimin, they're sending us to the front lines."
At those words, Jimin sits up straight, furrowing his eyebrows.
"What?"
"They're sending section A to the front lines. I have to leave in two minutes, but I wanted to see you before I do."
Without another word, Jimin shoots his arms out towards the younger man, pulling him into a tight embrace. Jimin struggles to contain the turmoil that rolls within himself as he holds onto Jungkook, inhaling his chocolate blueberry scent.
"This may be the last time we see each other."
Jungkook whispers, voice cracking.
Jimin pulls away, shaking his head.
"No. Don't say that. We'll make it through this and we'll see each other again, we'll see our families again."
"I have to go. Goodbye, Jimin."
Jungkook whispers, kissing Jimin on the cheek before rushing to the boarding platform.
Jimin brings his knees up to his chest and rests his elbows on them, burying his face in his hands.
Please, tell me we'll make it through this.
He pleaded to any superior being that could hear him. He was never religious, but believed that an external force held everything in place. He'd never acknowledge those elements unless he was in a hole he couldn't climb out of.
Taking his seat in the back of the bus, Jungkook stares out the window, a sullen look draped over his countenance. The van's engine roars to life, and begins moving along the lumpy path out of camp.
Barren lands and fields whizzed past his eyes, as village children ran along with the van, waving at the soldiers till they could run no more. The sun had begun to rise, washing the land in its orange glow as Jungkook closed his eyes, feeling the morning's virgin rays kiss his honey skin.
A tap on his shoulder pulls him out of his trance, and he turns to a soldier that had had jet black hair pulled up into a little ponytail.
"Hey! I've seen you before."
He says, pointing at Jungkook with a questioning look. Jungkook sighs, replying.
"War of 2020. I was there."
The man's face brightens instantly as he snaps his fingers.
"Yes! Now I remember, you're the general's son! I fought in the war too, barely made it out."
Jungkook nods, not interested to make friends as he turns his head back to look outside the window before he's shaken again.
"You're extremely quiet. I'm Hyunjin, nice to meet you."
Jungkook stares at the man with hooded eyes before turning away again.
"I'm Jungkook. But you can call me JK."
He closes his eyes and leans against the bars on the window before he feels something soft ticking his cheeks.
"You're like a little baby."
Hyunjin coos, and Jungkook whips his head towards Hyunjin.
"Can you please-"
Before he could hastily tell off the annoying soldier, the ranking officer speaks up.
"We'll reach the border in half an hour. Now y'all know that you front liners need to keep yourself and your troops alert at all times. There's no time for playing around, once the North Koreans begin to approach, you'll have to shoot them down. You'll be designated to the hilly terrain, so that can be an advantage if you choose the right hiding spot with a panoramic view of the area."
The soldiers listen to him attentively, and the officer's face falls a little before continuing.
"Now... Y'all know the protocols to be taken if you're outnumbered or cornered because once your in the clutches of the North, there's no way to escape their tortures."
The soldiers droop their heads, knowing what their next step would be.
"Always keep an extra bullet in your gun for those circumstances. We can't risk information being pulled out, and neither will you want to be tortured there for the rest of your lives. That's our only option."
Jungkook's heart races in his chest, as he plays with the ring on his finger.
I hope it doesn't come to that. I'll never forgive myself. I'm not sure if I have to courage to shoot myself, knowing that I'll be leaving Eunbi and everyone else on their own.
"Are you afraid?"
Hyunjin asks in a low voice, and Jungkook nibbles on his lower lip.
"Of course. If you aren't afraid, then you will lose your life on that battlefield. Fear is what keeps us alert and alive."
Jungkook mutters loud enough for Hyunjin to hear, and he nods.
"You got family back home?"
He asks, and Jungkook smiles a little, looking down at his ring.
"Yeah. My wife."
Hyunjin smiles, leaning back into the seat.
"Is she hot?"
Jungkook's taken aback by the question, and stares at Hyunjin.
"The fuck did you just ask me?"
Hyunjin laughs hysterically, earning glances from the other soldiers.
"I'm just playing with you, man. But honestly, is she pretty?"
Jungkook's lips turn down into a pout as he stares out the window.
"The prettiest woman I've ever laid eyes on."
Hyunjin sighs, thumping on Jungkook's back.
"Good for you. Make it back for her, then."
Jungkook hums, and the pair close their eyes to welcome the peace of sleep into their troubled minds.
